Does anyone know of a fix yet for the Windows Mobile 6 (crossbow) for calling the most recent number. Before, when pressing the call button twice, it would call the number you previously called without having to manually scroll through the call history.
Also, I noticed with the underground rom, that pressing the button on the bluetooth headset no longer activates voice command. Any fix for this? I went through some threads but the fixes that i found there were to redirect ALL audio to the headset (not something i care for). Thanks!
Calling the most recent number works, you must not be using the default WM6 dialer. Mine displays calls history and contacts in the center of the screen with the last call selected, so if I push the green button twice, it will call.
As for the voice command, read through this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295967&highlight=voice+dialing
As far as I know, it doesn't redirect all audio. The second set of directions that includes
"HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTA GExtModule = "OEMAGW.dll" (string)"
redirects notifications.
It is using Windows Dialer. But the thing is, the scroll history is not organized in the most recently called, instead it is organized in alphabetical order. So instead of calling the number I most recently called, it calls the person on the top of the alphabetical list of my recently called list.
Weird. Mine has the most recent callers at top, and then an alphabetical list under that. So pressing the green dial button twice (or hitting my BT headset button twice) will call the last number each time. I'm on WM6 MBE.
Hello
can somebody help me understanding the difference betwenn Voice command and speed dial and if I can use both on the same PDA ?
So far I understand that
- Speed Dial dials numbers and start programs by using voice tags
- you need to train each name to be recognized
- there is no true voice recognition
- Voice command dials numbers and starts programs by voice recognition
- in addition VC reads calendar entries and SMS/E-Mail
- there is no training mode to increase accurancy
So which program would provide better results for recognize and dial numbers by voice ?
Can I run both in parallel and use VC for the calendar function and Voice speed dial for the dialing ?
Plus I try to install VC 1.6 now .. but the button maps only to the explorer button on my TytnII .. not able to move him to the voice record button with the button application in settings
any suggestion / fix
Thanks freecall

I have the same problem.... any solution?!?!?!?
Cyberon is crap. I posted a detailed procedure for replacing it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=337501
I have installed Cyberon voice commander v2.0 and i am very happy with it when i use it with my bluetooth!!!
My only problem is that i do not know how to assign this program to the default "button 6".
I think default settings are:
"Button 6" --> Cyberon voice commander and
"Button 6 (Hold)" --> Record. (This one works).
hmm that sounds like a drastic deinstall .. so anyway to get the Voice speed dial back without doing a full hard reset if I would it like better than VC after some testing ?

M$ Voice Command ROCKS!
Ok I don’t say that about many applications especially M$ ones but I love VC. I keep my phone in its case and the BT ear piece in the ear, when the phone rings or I get a Text message VC tells me who is calling or reads the text to me. If I have an appointment but don’t recall what time it is, I just ask VC.
As far as accuracy in voice dial, it can’t be beat, say “Call: Joe Blow on mobile phone” and it will confirm “Call Joe Blow on mobile?” never misses. Say; “Dial 2125551212” and it will confirm and dial the number. No voice tags no training and it works for anyone. If my wife grabs my phone and needs to call someone she hits the VC button and off she goes.
Ok so there is one issue, with the Tilt there is no convenient button to map too, but since I do all my dialing from the BT headset or car unit it doesn’t matter to me. If you don’t mind it maped to your IE soft key ok, you can get to IE 3 or 4 other ways. On my old wizard (long live the wizard) I had it mapped to the record button and it worked great.

I have to agree with Russ. Microsoft Voice Commander is by far the best ~$17.00 I have spent for this phone, as well as the 8125 I had before this. The Voice regconition is awesome. I did have to change the buttons as described above. I chose the camera button as I never use the camera anyway. It works great with my HT700(headset) as well as the HT820(bluetooth headphones). The options allow for a good level of customization as well.
that sounds realy good and I will start testing it .Two quick questions to the comments above:
- have you installed VC without deleting / un-installing Voice speed dial on your Kaiser ?
- second it looks my device recognize all VC commands like time, date , help , signal etc but when I say call First Name Last Name it never finds any of my 590 contacts .. even it the name is as simple as Taxi G7 .. beep comes back empty .
When I say just call .. it dials a number I do not even recognize.
Can this be related that I do not have a option menu for contact in the VC settings (it is greyed ) , I can only select the notification button ?
Or is this maybe because I use PI 2007 ?
Thanks Freecall

freecall,
Right now i have both installed (getting ready to delete Voice Dial) and VC is partially functional. I will accept commands and process them correctly but it will not announce calls, read messages or calendar data. So once i have VD removed I will let you know.
I recommend you also remove voice dial before trying anymore tests.

I did not uninstall Voice Dial. IF you want to hear the calls and emails, make you configure VC properly. There is settings for only:
1.) Only announce during Free-Time. Make sure you check that one to whatever you want.
2.) Only High Priorty Emails get annouced. Again, check whichever option you want.
Where do I get a list of commands that VC will recognize? E.G Dial, Recall, on Mobile, etc.
Say "What can I say?" and you'll have your answer...

or go to the Microsoft website and look up VoiceCommand 1.6 for PPC. The list is really quite long!
Russ741
Any ideas Gang?
So, after following the thread for removing voice dialer and remapping the PTT button to become button 6 and button 6 (hold) VC is still not announcing incoming calls (and yes I have configured the options!) anyone have any idea why it would perform 90% of its duty and not the last 10%?
Russ741
Are you sure it's not announcing them, or is it possible it's announcing them through the "wrong" speaker? If you've got it set to use BT, BT, and only BT, then all of the announcements go through the headset, or don't get made if it's not currently connected (like walking out of range and then back in).
I tweaked mine to announce only through the speaker, then turned it off because the robot voice annoyed me, but at first I thought it wasn't working...
One question about VC...
Do you have to say the person's full name to dial them? Let's say I have a contact name John Smith, do I have to say "Call John Smith Mobile", or can I program nicknames somewhere within the software so I can say something like "Call Smitty"?
It's based on the contact name, so "Call Smitty" will confuse it.
Is it possible to send messages just using voice or only receive them?

It is based on what ever names you have in contacts so, for example if I want to call my office I say; "Call work" since there is only one number in the contacts database VC doesnt ask for Mobile, home or work. And since my office is just listed as First Name: Work Last Name: <blank> it understands.

Anyone have a shortcut for enabling call forwarding? I always forward to the same number. I would like to be able to use a button or voice command to bring up the call forwarding screen, and then just click yes/OK to enable or disable it. Anyone else using this?
By the way. I have been using ATT's fast forward service for a couple of years. Do I need to continue paying for this, or will the phone redirect the calls?
Thanks,
Tom
Bump. I'd really love to find how to do this also, I'm doing it several times a day ...
On my 8925 phone I created two contacts.
Turn Forwarding On:
_OnForward
*21*5125551212#
(replace 5125551212 with the areacode and phone number you want to forward your calls to)
Turn Forwarding Off:
_OffForward:
##21#
The _ puts the two items at the top of my contacts list. I click contacts and then press call on the selected forwarding option. Sometimes I get an error message "command not supported", but that is related to my phone's connection strength and not the programming. This has been working well for me for about a year. I have tried to make a couple of buttons that dial the contacts directly from another screen, but that hasn't worked. You have to open contacts and the press call on the option you want.
Later-
Good morning gents.
I have an HTC TyTN II with Win Mobile 6.1
I created the contacts like that and on my "Favorite People" page I put the contact there, it just says :
"Cannot Complete the call. the Signal may be unavailable or the phone number may not be valid. Verify the number or try again later."
From the contact list it works of course.
Another question regarding call forwarding. Is there a way to have an icon on the top bar that says the call ARE being forwarded... I keep missing a couple of calls that end on my home answering machine because I forgot to forward
Vesperatus-
I have all of your same issues. As far as I know, there aren't any solutions. You just have to remember to unforward your phone.....

In the past, there was a root-assisted app Call Master that was able to block calls & prevent them from going to VoiceMail by hanging up one second after the call was taken, this prevented people being able to leave (say they left) a msg.
That was back in the old days of OS 4.2.x, now in 7.1x, th OS can block the call from needing to be answered, but it still goes thru to voicemail.
I don't know much abt this most recent version of Tasker, tho I played with it a bit when Tasker first care out yrs ago- so is someone knows of a way to do the answer/immediate hangup w/Tasker, I'll need detailed, newbie level instructions - please…
I miss being able to have the fone prevent a call fm getting to voicemail.
TIA, oldwolf
I don't know if that's possible but you can configure which calls go to voicemail natively as far as I know. So if blocked calls are handled as rejected calls you can configure to not pass them to voicemail in your phone / dialer settings
In short, yes. Just use an "end call" action. The trick is identifying the call to act on. Not in your contacts is one way. You could also add unwanted numbers to a single contact (e.g. Ignore) and act on that contact.
Abe & ktmom, thanks for your replies, but as I said, I need complete newbie level instructions on the Tasker side. @abe, I know how to get calls to voice mail- but how & where do I get blocked calls to become rejected calls in dialer settings?- I've been using a 3d party dialer forever, so I'm not familiar w/native dialer.
@ktmom, having used Call Master, I've got the theory abt how to ID calls to block/reject as 'not on contacts list, or an ignored group; & thanks for the tip on 'End Call'; but I'm still a Tasker newbie, pls walk me thru the steps, like I never saw Tasker b4, most recent version is beyond anything in 1st release.
TIA all, oldwolf
Start by installing the demo from the tasker website (if you don't have it). Leave it in beginner mode. Add a profile (plus sign bottom right) -> event -> phone -> phone ringing -> define the incoming caller. Play with this to figure out how best to meet your needs. Maybe start by blocking a specific caller in the journey to learn.
You'll then be prompted to provide a task. Give it a name (e.g. Block call). Then add an action -> phone -> end call.
Reading through the tasker wiki available on the developer's website will give you ideas and help the learning curve.
If you have no programming experience, this won't be a quick learning curve, but the task you're looking for is straight forward and amongst the simplest.

Is there a consensus for Nougat?
I find many complaints about blockers no longer being able to hangup. My favorite Advanced Call Blocker will no longer do it. None that I try do it even though they claim to.
The hardest part is without a doubt to distinguish the calls. An idea could be to use an app which looks up the number. The one I use sends out toasts reading "spam". I have Autoinput register them for me. Of course, there's a lot of unwanted calls still getting through since sellers use private numbers or new numbers not yet widely identified as telemarketing.

Can you use Tasker to answer & hangup on Nougat?
That is the question, can it function?
Then one could work on a blocker that will keep unwanted VMs away.
As I said in post #3, you just use the end call action.
Anyone have a profile or Tasker made app to share?

Have you tested the End Call action from a profile? I've tested End Call on the prior version of Tasker and on the current version, and the action doesn't seem to work when called from a profile. On my phone, End Call in Tasker works fine when running the task during testing inside the task area, but Tasker's End Call does not actually work when the task is called from a profile. That functioning had been reported in the Tasker development area a long time ago, and apparently it was never fixed, since my phone worked the same as previously reported. On Nougat I was able to use the End Call task in Secure Settings with SuperSU to actually end a call using Tasker. Secure Settings hasn't been updated in a long time, so I used the following to get Secure Settings to work with SuperSU. Anway, as far as I could tell, End Call seems to be broken in Tasker.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ap...ersu-v2-05-t2868133/post68700891#post68700891
I've been using it for years within a car mode task. Across multiple devices and tasker versions.
Interesting, maybe it just depends on the phone or something OS related. End Call in Tasker doesn't seem to work on the Pixel with Nougat or Oreo, and there were a number of similar comments online, so I thought the way my phone worked might have been common.

I know Secure Settings can hang up a call on my phone with Nougat rooted using SuperSU on Tasker, and the Secure Settings information also indicates there's an answer task in Secure Settings, so it's probably possible.
I have a profile, that blocks calls, but I have set it up to block calls from private, blocked, and anonymous callers. it will ring once and hang up the caller. I haven't figured out how to stop it from going to voicemail though.

PMs here do not allow attachments.
Pretty basic, the events are: PHONE RINGING+INCOMING CALL
For the numbers I've used: 0/private/blocked/unknown/anonymous or any specific numbers you want!
For the tasks CALL BLOCK
with the NUMBER MATCH being the the previous mentioned private, blocked...
Next is END CALL, which basically ends the call.
I have a NOTIFY. That puts an icon in my status bar, and a CALENDAR INSERT that puts it into my calendar.
It will block calls but it will ring one-time and disconnect the call, I've tried to silence the ringer by adding a nite but wasn't successful.
Apologies for resurrecting an older thread, but a few minutes ago I just worked out how to do exactly what the OP asked: answer and immediately hang up to effectively block unwanted calls.
I've created a rudimentary answer-and-hang-up call blocker, in Tasker, on Oreo, on a Sony Xperia X Compact, which is not rooted. I don't yet want to root my phone because Sony still provides monthly OS updates, I don't object to the Sony UI, and skvalex's Call Recorder works happily on this non-rooted phone. Once Sony turns off the update tap, then I'll investigate rooting it.
I cannot vouch that my experience will work for everyone on every device. All I can say is, it works for me. If it doesn't work for you, tinker with the various options to see if it can be made to work on your phone.
I don't want to reject calls, because then they go to voicemail and I can't be bothered with the effort of calling my voicemail to delete them. Instead, I want to answer the calls and then hang up, so there's no voicemail to handle. On my phone, the End Call task doesn't cancel the unanswered call; it sends it to voicemail.
I also want wildcard blocking because scammers often spoof caller IDs from area code prefixes which simply don't exist in the UK. I want to block all calls from fake area codes.
Extreme Call Blocker used to do both answer-and-hang-up and wildcard blocking, and was well worth the low purchase price. Unfortunately, it no longer does what it's supposed to do. The app hasn't been updated since 2016 so my suspicion is that newer versions of Android have changed things which ECB relied on. In addition, the developer's domain expired a month ago, so I'm not holding out much hope for an update to the app.
Call Control does have an answer-and-hang-up feature, which works as advertised, but the wildcard blocking does not work. At least, not on my phone. Perhaps it works for other people.
I tried a few other blockers but they all seemed to send the callers to voicemail. I got bored of testing call blocking apps at this point and figured I'd create my own.
So that's the introduction. Now on to the how-to.
This requires two apps, both of which are paid-for (but definitely worth the couple of quid asking price):
Tasker
AutoNotification
In Tasker:
Create a profile based on the Event "Phone Ringing". Add the number blocklist to the optional Caller field, using wildcards if required (for example 020* will block all calls from London). Use / as a separator, e.g. 020*/01234*/0870* etc.
Add these Tasks:
Task -> Wait -> 1 second (adjust timing for your preference)
Plugin -> AutoNotification -> Query (Configure the Apps section to intercept notifications from Phone.)
Plugin -> AutoNotification -> Actions (Configure the Intercept Action ID with the appropriate variable from the above Query. On my phone it's %anbutton2action() - yours may well differ.)
Task -> Wait -> 2 seconds (as before, adjust timing for your preference)
Phone -> End Call
It's not elegant, and requires manual updates of the Caller data in the Tasker Event, but it does what I want it to do.
If someone wants to update Extreme Call Blocker, or fix the wildcard handling of Call Control, then I'll ditch this in a heartbeat. But for now it meets my needs (and hopefully those of the OP, too).
Some additional background: In the UK (and maybe elsewhere), callers pay the termination fee to call a mobile phone, unlike in the USA and Canada where the recipient pays the termination fee. I'm in the UK so I like to answer the calls and hang up, so that the scammers get charged. Or, whoever is providing services to the scammers gets charged. Either way, if enough people do this, and the aggregate monetary cost is significant, then someone might take action to cut the scammers off.
It's a slim hope, I know, but you do what you can, right?
This morning I refined the tasks, to reduce the distraction from the phone ringing and hanging up.
This is now my current task list:
1. Audio -> Vibrate On Ringer -> Off (this does not always kill the vibration for every call, but it catches most - I suspect a timing issue)
2. Variables -> Variable Set -> Name %RingerVolume To %VOLR (save the current ringer volume level)
3. Audio -> Ringer Volume -> 0
4. Alert -> Flash -> SCAM - DO NOT ANSWER (for those times when I'm looking at the phone when it rings, or notice any vibration)
5. Task -> Wait -> 1 second
6. Plugin -> AutoNotification -> Query (Configure the Apps section to intercept notifications from Phone.)
7. Plugin -> AutoNotification -> Actions -> %anbutton2action() (Configure the Intercept Action ID with the appropriate variable from the above Query. On my phone it's %anbutton2action() - yours may well differ.)
8 Task -> Wait -> 2 seconds (as before, adjust timing for your preference)
9. Phone -> End Call
10. Audio -> Ringer Volume -> %RingerVolume (restore the previous ringer volume level)
11. Audio -> Vibrate On Ringer -> On
---------- Post added at 10:48 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:47 AM ----------
http://tasker.dinglisch.net/userguide/en/matching.html gives some additional advice for pattern matching against callers, including a link to a very comprehensive regex reference: https://developer.android.com/reference/java/util/regex/Pattern
I could block fake London calls with 0201*/0202*/0203*/0204* and so on, but regex offers a much more efficient way to do it: ~R^020[0-69]
I'm aware that Ofcom inexplicably believes that 020 3xxx xxxx is a valid number range for London, but I've yet to encounter a reputable company which lowers itself to using 020 3xxx xxxx numbers. In my experience they're the preserve of fly-by-night outfits and scammers. So into the blocklist they go.
What is the difference in tasks "End Call" and "Block Call" and why the former does not ask for the number while the latter does?
In my experience the "block call" does not work, and the "end call" might ring the ringer once (or at times not at all) and then send the call to voicemail.
I would rather have it to NEVER ring and NOT send it to voicemail.
Suggestions?

If you want the phone to never ring, use whatever call blocking feature your service provider offers. It will be impossible for an on-device app to always prevent a ring.
From the information button on "block call" (? In a circle in the action screen)
"Call Block
Block outgoing calls to the specified matched number(s).
If no Number is specified, all calls will be blocked.
If Info is checked, all diversions and blocks will be displayed after the action.
To stop blocking, use Call Revert."
End call doesn't need a number because it's an action. You determine what calls to end through the profile then run a task with an end call action.

Use Case:
1. Call a conference call number eg: WebEx
2. You are asked to enter the meeting number
3. You press the numbers but no tones are played
Had a tech support call with Samsung just now.
Firstly they say this isn't a feature on EU Note 8s (WTF!)
Then say it should work out of the box and my phone is faulty so take it to a Samsung centre for evaluation / exchange
I reckon this is a software bug. Can someone else in the EU dial any number and when you're connected to the call, press a number on the dial pad and tell me if you hear the tone played?
Im not in EU, but in the states it works fine, i have many conference calls daily and it always works for me entering my codes to get into the call. It should be working fine on your model as well, possible a issue with the carrier side of things or its turned off in the hidden settings.
Edit:
Try ##DATA#, if it brings up a menu, put in 000000 as your msl, then go to More, then go to DTMF SET. See if its off or not set at all? US model has a option here for this at least.
Hi
The ##2832# doesn't work on my phone. It's a real pig seeing as I work remotely!
Don't even seem to be able to use a 3rd party DTMF tone generator either (well I can but the system at the other end isn't hearing the tones).

Not specifically a fix but the only place I'm having issues with is WebEx. If you try your voicemail, does that work ok? Mine is fine but for some reason WebEx isn't

Figured it out. It's the CSC. Apparently, it doesn't work properly with the N950N (at the least the one I had installed, which was default with the Renovate ROM). I had to use the Flashable CSC Selection V1.2.5 from Tkkg1994, manually add the greatlte line into it, and once flashed, I got all the options in the dialer for TTY (I think which relates to DTMF), and most importantly, sound feedback when pressing the dialpad while in-call.
Solution
Go to settings -> sound and vibration -> uncheck the the dialling keypad tones(if checked).
Hope this helps!
this works. Go figure... you disable the dialling keypad tones and you can now use the keypad tones. Thanks for the help. This has infuriated me for months
I had not payed any attention to this, as I used some services that require you to input numeric options during call, and all worked fine, but, yes, no tones heard, but the tones are sent anyway
What worked for me was dialing the original number manually - not from the phone memory or contacts!
I use a Gigaset HC450 Doorbell that is able to divert a call.
This is a rare device, check ebay, it is a DECT phone on a Siemens Gigaset IP Base Station with a SIP provider configured)
So if someone presses the doorbell button on the Gigaset HC450 and status is set to AWAY
then the configured SIP provider inside the BASE station does an external call to my mobile because I set up my mobile number inside the HC450 Menu for Diversion
So my mobile is a Samsung Note 8, at the moment i run Stock Hungarian unbranded firmware N950F
When there is a call from the doorbell, there is a sentence said by a female voice: "Doorbell is ringing, to connect press 1, to stop press hash"
I cannot proceed by pressing 1, neither with Dialpad tones activated nor deactivated, and also a 3rd party DTMF tone generator does not work
Someone in this thread said it was fixed by flashing different CSC, which i think is not true because many said that they got webex fixed by simpy DEACTIVATING dialpad tones
I am greatful for all ideas that you have in order to get this working, its a new challange and I found this thread so I posted my topic here, too
Thank you very much for reading
