Change CSC within multi-CSC - Samsung Galaxy S10 Questions & Answers

HI everyone,
I have a G970F/DS that has come with XSG firmware and I am trying to change the firmware to XSA
According to the image here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s10/how-to/g973f-g973n-multi-csc-firmware-t3903050
For OXM multi CSC
SM-G970FXXU1ASAT-G970FOXM1ASAT
SM-G970FXXU1ASBA-G970FOXM1ASBA
The XSG is in the OXM multi CSC and XSA is in the single - I do not know what this means exactly.
I have tried
Using the *#272*IMEI# code with both IMEI codes, but i do not get a menu after typing it in
Flashing with new firmware from http://updato.com/ with Odin with the sim card in and out
Formatting the device using recovery mode with the sim in and also out+putting it in after
Using Odin to flash VD2 firmware and then back to the OXM firmware
When I flashed VD2 I got VD2/VD2,VD2/XSG in the software information but this went back to XSG/XSG ,XSG /XSG after flashing the OXM firmware
The sim card I am using is an Australian one from Optus and Odin is 3.13.1
Nothing seems to change to XSA.
Am I doing something wrong or is there something else I need to do?
Thanks

You can try inserting a Singapore SIM to see if it triggers Late Customization prompt to reset phone to XSP. 272 menu works in XSP

I don't have a Singapore Sim but I will see if I can get one to try with.
Do I need to reset the phone with the sim in or will the phone ask me when I put the sim in if I want to reset it?
Which IMEI is best to use with 272, does it make a difference?
Thanks for the suggestion

It should prompt you, but you can also try resetting in the recovery menu. I have always used IMEI 1 with 272

Worked for me!!!

WORKED PERFECTLY on my S10!!!
Changed CSC code from ZTO (Brazil retail) to ZVV (Vivo) after flash CHT firmware (from Chile).
I don't know why, but 4g+ from my operator (Oi - Brazil) doesn't work on ZTO -- br retail (it gets only 4g), but in CHT/ZVV it works 4g+ flawlessly!!! Despite Vivo's logo, I'm so happy!

Once you flash a Multi-CSC and your active SIM is within the said list then it would restart and make the changes.
So if you want to move to a different CSC then just use a different SIM that has the specific you need.

use the CSC file and not the HOME_CSC.
Note this will wipe your phone
I made it..the csc no the home_csc
I live in greece thats why i download tge eur firmware
In phone info says
Product code:sm-n950fzkaeur
Original csc code:nothing
Firmware's csc code:nothing
Active csc code:eur
Available csc codes:nothing
Csc country:segr/gr
Mobile operator:vodafone gr/20205
Before i made flash in the ative csc was writing dtm and other product code and csc country
I think i made it change or no?
And i go to software information/service provider sw ver. It says
eur/eur/dtm
If i put the note 8 in recovery mode it says multiple csc and active code eur
With this i well get eur ota updates?
So confused

eur/eur/dtm the last CSC will never change as this is hardcoded in the phone firmware.
If the first two are EUR/EUR then you have the correct CSC for OPEN Greece firmware.
Fotis
So Fotis i will get the ota updates from greece??
Thanks for the answer

is oem unlock needed for changing csc v3 bootloader and oreo

I have done several searches re the above.
As stated in a previous post I want to change my phone back to tel/tel/tel from xsa/xsa /tel ( xsa is generic unbranded phone in australia and telstra is a branded in Australia phone )
I have no oem unlock available as it has not been 7 days since I have flashed my phone.
should it be possible to change the csc without oemunlock with olin_csc not home_csc ( and using the other associated firmware files bl,ap etc)
and picking f reset time, auto reboot and repartition in odin .
You're good, oem unlock is only needed for flashing custom binaries.
I'm curious, how did you get xsa/xsa/tel? I have been trying to achieve this but haven't had success.. I have flashed stock xsa rom with Odin with CSC and wiped everything and it's still tel/tel/tel. I even tried Optus software and it never changes..

I did the below with oreo firmware
flash xef french firmware and setup without simcard or sd card ( you will get xef/xef/tel) then flash xsa firmware
both times use csc not homecsc. you will get xsa/xsa/tel
I
but even though I tried to reverse the above with the telstra firmware instead of xsa after reflashing french to try to get back to telstra but it did not I still have xsa/xsa /tel. no biggy samsung pay volte and richtext messages work still . Just thought I might get back to branded for something to do.

What did I do wrong trying to change my CSC?

I received my international version of the N960F/DS. It had XEU firmware. I tried to install BTU firmware via Odin using a SamFirm BTU download and a UK Giffgaff SIM and selecting CSC, not Home_CSC. I still ended up with XEU.
1st question - am I likely to get Pie and other updates more quickly on BTU than XEU?
2nd question - how do I change from XEU to BTU? I think I saw that on previous Galaxies maybe you had to install a firmware not on the OXM multi CSC and then install BTU afterwards. Is that what I should have done? If so, what CSC do you suggest?
3rd question - should I just leave it alone?
TIA.

Use search instead of creating topics saves space
simply flash desired firmware wont work, you will need to flash combination file first before that.
follow above comment will work

Changing OGC multi-CSC to OXM multi-CSC

Hello,
I searched a lot but didn't find a clear answer :
If I flash via Odin a firmware with OXM multi-CSC will it change my current OGC multi-CSC?
Do I have to use HOME_CSC_OXM or CSC_OXM file in Odin for that to happen?
Do I have to have my sim card inserted while flashing firmware?
Will KNOX still be untriggered?
I have a blur idea of answers but I need to be sure before proceeding.
Thanks for your help.
EDIT : to be clearer I want to switch to N950FXXS5CSA6/N950FOXM5CRK1/N950FXXU5CRK4/N950FXXS5CSA6 (XEF CSC) from N950FXXS5CSA2/N950FOGC5CRJ5/N950FXXU5CRK4/N950FXXS5CSA2 (FTM CSC). Both are Android 8 versions but I'm not on Orange network anymore.
When first entering a new sim after resetting the phone from a different country then the phone then it will ask you that it has detected a sim from another country and if you would like to change to that CSC, if you choose yes then the phone will go to recovery and apply the SIM CARD CSC and restart. On reboot the phone will have the csc of the sim you have used.
Example
You have a German bought with csc dbt/dbt/dbt and you use a United kingdom sim card, after applying the sim card csc, the phone will have dbt/dbt/btu csc .
Hope it helped a bit
P.S. you have to reset the phone to get that dialog when inserting a new sim card. First and one time only dialog. Each time you want a new csc you have to reset the phone .

Will this work if my multi-CSC doesn't include my current sim card CSC operator? My OGC include these CSC : AMO FTM OPV ORO ORS but my sim card is on BOG CSC ... and I'm looking to have the more generic XEF CSC.
Enjoy !

It has to include the sim card csc so it can change to that.

Hey just wanted to understand if this affects warranty. Also if you can post step by step guide on how to do this with samkey?
For people who can't switch between csc in the same mult csc pack. OXM multi csc pack contains all the european generic and network branded firmware (csc) so if You are at MEO (part of OXM multi pack), and flash it with TPH (part of OXM multi pack) the MEO will stay. What you need to do is to flash it with different multi csc pack (just see what packs are available for your model), try to flash Brazil csc ZTO, it's part of multi pack OWO. then flash it back with OXM multi pack, and it should switch to some generic csc, then if you instert your sim card it should ask you if you want to customize your phone to the inserted sim card and it will change your csc to the one you want.
Hello.
In my own case, I bought the SM-G998B from Korea, which is KOO/KOO/KOO, and I live in Africa. I won't mind being able to flash on OXM or any other multi-csc firmware, just so long as I can use my sim card here.
All I'm getting right now is limited service, and the option to select network operators is completely missing from my phone.
my s21U original comes with XSP CSC and firmware.. i have tried flashing to XME the flashing is ok and everything except that under software provider it still shows XSP... will it affect me receiving ota from XME?
