Hi.
Just got the phone and I have a problem.
I'm currently on EE UK and everytime someone rings me, instead of the name/number I get "unknown caller".
Tried with a Vodafone SIM card, no problem, names and numbers show up.
Contacted EE, they did some checks on their end, apparently everything is fine.
Also contacted red magic today, waiting to get an answer.
Any idea?
Hey , Yesterday Same Problem , but easy solution.

Unfortunately, in my case I only get an error message: "Incoming caller ID Connection problem or invalid MMI code (0)".
Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
Yea i get This message also. But then IT works.
Not in my case, unfortunately...
Hmm i think it was just temporary on mine haha, now i get the whole time the unknown caller issue..
Sorry to hear that.
I got in contact with Nubia, they are investigating now.
Still investigating after 2 days..
Hi I'm getting the same problem did anyone found the solution?

Nothing yet.
It seems to depend on the operator, for example I get no caller ID on EE, but it's fine on Vodafone...
Nubia support is sooooo slow!
I am using o2 , when I called my network provider they said everything seems to be okay. I tried the Sim card on my previous phone s8, it was functioning properly but not on redmagic. Still don't know, if its because of network provider or Nubia. This is really weird.
Same on EE, nothing wrong on their end...
So, basically the same problem on O2.
That's sad, I think I'll just return it, not worth the hustle.

Hi all,
Can someone tell me why my TyTN II, Dutch version, a lot of times won't dial the number that I want it to dial or just disconnects when I'm talking? Anyone have the same experience?
Thank for the help.

Mike,
There a 2 options there, the first one has GSM and WCDMA and the second one you can choose between GSM(900+1800)+UMTS(2100), GSM(1900+850)+UMTS(1900+850) and UMTS(2100+800).
When I change the WCDMA to GSM, than my data connection changes to GPRS.
Do you know more about this.

Welcome to the club... It appears to be a specific TyTn II problem that is not solved yet. I had the same problem with my Vodafone NL SIM one night. Could not call anyone and could not receive calls while the phone could see the 3G-network. Now it works again, no clue why... You can indeed change the phone-settings for the network and band from "auto" to something else (not sure exactly what those settings were, just try!). This will prevent you from connecting to the 3G-network which means you only have a GPRS-connection. Now you are on the regular GSM-network and calling works again like a charm. But you lost the 3G-data option...
It feels like a network registration problem, but it was suggested elsewhere on this forum as a ROM/3G Radio problem.
Sorry I cannot help more.

I've got a Vodafone account, I called HTC, they didn't hear of this problem before, he said. Changed the settings to GSM on his advice, I'm waiting to see if it helps, but 3G is gone. That not what I want offcourse. Thanks for the advice and confirmation.

Again I called HTC, this someone in Dutch, works better. According to them, you need to go to START/INSTELLINGEN/VERBINDINGEN/HSPDA en unmark this option. (START/SETTINGS/CONNECTIONS/HSPDA). The conclusion is wimple, since there is no provider that fully covers the Netherlands with HSPDA, your TyNT II will not connect or even disconnect when this connection is gone. Sounds simple, I'm going to test this of course.

Tested this already, and it seems to work although you end up with a GPRS-like connection (slow speed). And the HSDPA was the whole reason why I chose the TyTN II! I guess it is supposed to become a UMTS-connection if you disable HSDPA? Would not make sense since this uses the same masts as the HSDPA; thus same coverage.
Just to enrich this discussion, I added other posts that relate to the same problem:

Aha, then you got a problem..
If none of your friend's got a phone that it works to put it in I'd suggest that you contact your Telco about it or the place you bought it from and see what they've got to say about it..
Hooray, just started working! Must of been a glitch with the telco (orange). Thanks for help m8.
yeah, was just about to post....my Orange UK died too, came back about 30 mins ago. Glad its all sorted. You then have the worry that something else is not working right when you have these unexplained glitches.....damn orange Sorted now though
My HTC Incredible S signal bar got cross and mobile say out service area.
When I manually try to select network it says 'sim card does not allow connection to this network'
I have installed 3,4 ROMs but same issue, tried different radios but same issue.
Also tried *#*#4636#*#* thing, turned off then on radio many times but no use.
Any help will be highly appreciated!
One thing to note is that I can connect GPRS/ EDGE and browse normally without any issue still it shows no signal, but when try to make a call it says out of service area.
Also when phone restarts it locks on to network showing signals. but as soon as i make call signals are lost.
Awaiting help..

Thank you all for the replies, BUT I have tried all 5 carriers available in my country. The behavior is same for all SIMs. I bought unlocked Inc S. There is no doubt that it is locked because this strange behavior occurred suddenly when i was using my phone as usual. No new application / ROM or anything else was installed. It just suddenly started this behavior.
I think I have to send my device to HTC. At first I was trying to resolve the issue with help of you guys because it has no warranty. I have to pay for all the repair costs.
Anyway please keep me updated if any solution is available.
I'll too inform when my phone gets repaired that what was the issue, which might help some one suffering from same problem.
Thanks!
hmm probably u shuld restore to stock b4 sending to HTC! better chance of fixing it?

[Q][HELP] No Service after S-OFF & ROM installation
Hi,
I have a similar problem. My sister just bought a gently used Canadian Incredible S. It was unlocked and working fine on her carrier, Fido, but was running Gingerbread. Since the carrier doesn't offer this model, I decided to root it and install a custom ROM. I tried following THIS guide, but I rapidly ran into problems. I have to say it was my first time. First, the dev unlock failed with a simple "[ERR] Command error!!!" in fastboot. I did a search and finally realised my HBOOT was already at 1.13.0000 and that it was impossible to dev unlock. I also read that S-OFF was equivalent so I skipped the unlock and tried to flash the recovery, but that failed too. Then, I decided to skip Nonverbose's script and the RUU and use Revolutionary to S-OFF and install the recovery software. That worked so I installed Superuser, the ViperVIVO 1.3.0 ROM and did all the wipes. The phone works fine but it doesn't pick any signal. I flashed a new radio, the 11M, redid the APN settings and changed to WCDMA only with the secret code, but nothing works. I finally restored to the Gingerbread backup, but there still is no service. Any help would be greatly appreciated to understand and fix the problem.
Thank you!
She's using a Samsung Galaxy SIII, I'm using the HTC One.
We're on the same mobile network. Both of us don't have a problem with calls to/from other people; Problem happens when we call each other.
Problem: She can hear me well, but I can't hear her most of the time.
Thanks in advance for your help!
I already called up our network provider regarding this, and they've never encountered an issue like this before.
They just advised for me to try using a different phone... Couldn't believe that.

I had this very same problem, it appeared that I had blocked my girlfriend. Even though I hadn't, I could call other people they could call me and so on, nothing wrong with my girls handset either.
When I tried to call from a different handset, the problem persisted hinting at a network issue.
Got issued a new sim and it started working again.
SPK with the network again and see if you can get one sent out.
Could be that its something else too, so problem solve before you get a new sim.

Hi Xdaers,
I'm not sure for a variety of reasons. I am not able to activate my eSIM with my local network service provider. I followed up, and I was told that the eSIM is blocked, and I have to go to the OEM to unblock the eSIM. which I found very fascinating and interesting at the same time. I want to find out if anyone else has been faced with this issue when activating the eSIM. And how did they get through it?
Spoiler: device specification
Pixel 7 (Factory Unlocked): I am using the local sim from the same service provider, and it's working fine.
Android 13 stable
Feb. Security update

Safety net passed
Hello, I live in Colombia and yesterday I had the same problem. I had my esim working without problems on my p7 and I deleted it to transfer it to another phone and on the other phone I got this same message. Then I tried to put it back on my pixel 7 and I also got the same problem.

Have you been able to fix it? And, if so, have you reported it to your local network provider, and what have their responses been?
Hello, I'm telling you that I was visiting my mobile operator and they generated another qr code for me to download the esim and I take it without problems; I got it working again.
That's exactly (and the only way) to do it.

Sounds like you need to have them send you a physical sim card.
Actually nothing's blocked. Your carrier is ignorant.
Phase 1 of 4. Check with your carrier to determine if it's supported before configuring an eSIM. Launch the Settings application. Phase 2 of 4. Touch SIMs. Step 3 of 4: Click Download a SIM rather? Phase 4 of 4. Tap Next, then proceed as directed.

Ask for higher level support. Someone must know what to do. When I first started with VZW years ago I finally was connected to the one person who knew how to activate it. Now they all know but it took a while. Is switching carriers an option? Tell them your OEM unblocked it now it's up to you guys. Eventually they will need to send you a qr code for it to work.

Actually, I requested the eSIM from my provider. They sent an email following the steps with a QR code you just listed to activate my eSIM. I did that, and the end result is the screenshot that I posted. I called to report the issue, and I was told I should check with my OEM, (it happens because the OEM has blocked the eSIM). So I had to post here to find out if anyone is been faced with this issues.

Yes, exactly what I was thinking—I called again and got the same guy. So I will keep trying until I get a different person who will know how to activate it. Also, I'm hoping for a March update and will try again. Something will hopefully be fixed.
