Does anyone know of any reviews which test the S10 NOT PLUS SNAPRAGON with the P30 NOT PRO model? I see individual tests of both but they use different methodology.

Here's one that also throws in the iPhone XS.

I've seen that one. that is just a review of the specs for people who dont know how to read specs. They did not actually test anything and I question if they even touched any of the phones.

I can decide buying the S10 (normal one) or the Huawei P30 Pro.
What are your experiences with the phone so far?
Would you buy it again or should I go for the P30 Pro?
Hey mate. I was also struggling about Huawei P30 Pro. I have a S10 exynos, and my main problems with it are: battery, and camera. I was thinking a lot about exchanging my phone for P30 Pro, because of that camera and battery. But I made small research about P30 Pro, and... it's not a perfect phone. There is no perfect phone.
Check out forum about P30 Pro on XDA, and there are people complaining about different things of Huawei.
Those two last post from leoni1980 and Ady1976 kinda opened my eyes. They made really good points.

I think I'll stick to my S10, and I hope Samsung will improve night mode and the new charging speed will make the experience with Samsung better.
What are my favourite things about S10? First of all, the screen. It's great, the highest resolution is nice, but my top feaute is the reduction of blue light. Even youtubers are starting to inform about blue light and what harm can it do. Also the stereo speakers are really nice. I enjoy using OneUI with gestures and onehand+ app. No buttons on my screen, but also no one besides me know how to operate my phone Inscreen fingerprint is not perfect, but i like its position and that it can be used with wet fingers. Though my isn't always working. Huawei's interface isn't that nice from what I read.
Overall, it's a good phone, but not perfect. On some aspects Samsung didn't do their best, especially with the whole Exynos vs Snapdragon topic. And I think I'll stick with my S10, instead of trying to change it for P30 Pro.

Do not know about the P30 but I have had my S10 Snapdragon for about a month and a half. I also have the Pixel 2...
Love the S10 ..the Pixel 3a is due out anytime now and the 4 is due out in October and both will have a better camera vs the S10.
It really depends on what is important to you?
Camera? Always having the most updated software? UI ? Cost?
Do you use the Gear S3 watch? Etc, etc...
Sammy offers a nice trade in deal if you have the current S8 or S9 as well.

thanks for your replies guys .. I bought it yesterday for very cheap and I´m in love with it
Congrats and welcome aboard!
I currently own a Xiaomi mi 8, I love my cell phone but I think it's time to give way to a flagship. My options are the Mi 9T Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S10 +. Which smartphone do you recommend?
Well, if you're happy with xiaomi I guess mi9T pro is a great phone, but if you want something else I whould recommend oneplus 7T or Samsung galaxy S10E if you want a Samsung phone.
But if you're looking for the best bang for your buck I think realme X2 pro is the best option along side OP 7T

I would strongly suggest that you wait until March..at least. This way you can buy one of the many new phones that will feature an Snapdragon 865 processor. Such as the Xiaomi Mi10, Mix 4, One Plus 8, 8T etc.
Moving one generation higher isn't really enough of a difference to justify moving. Plus many of the phones with the very latest processors will also be compatible with 5G., and once these new phones are released the price of current flagships will definitely drop, so it's financially wiser to be patient.
If you search you will see quite a few posts here on XDA , where people discuss how they bought a Mi9T or a Samsung and they wanted to share that they regretted buying a new phone because they were expecting the new phone to have dramatic differences.
By the way, I had also considered selling my mi8 and moving on. But I will definitely wait.

You are absolutely right, it is better to wait a couple of months and get a flagship, and this year all top-of-the-range smartphone will have the screen with a minimum refresh rate of 90Hz
Looks like this device is packing a punch, especially now snapdragon will finally hit the uk shores. Any ideas why to look at the s20 Ultra over this device?
Is it going up be possible to unlock the bootloader and install chain recovery and ROM in the Snapdragon version of this phone? From a quick look at the S20 section of this forum only the Exynos versions get custom development.

Nope, none. On a value-for-dollar basis, I think this phone trumps the Ultra hands down. In fact, I just cancelled an order for a Note20 Ultra, as I've realized that I don't need, and likely won't ever use, all those premium features that we pay so much for - this phone looks just right for the price to me.
Mine is shipped and I will get it tomorrow!
Not gonna lie, I'm now having second thoughts as a result of the optical fingerprint sensor and camera performance - not deal breakers for sure at this price point, but security and camera performance are top of my list of priorities, so those give me pause.
Got mine a bit ago. To be honest, i can't tell the difference between the S20 FE and the Note 20 I have been using while waiting for it to arrive.
The S20 FE doesn't have the video enhancer setting, which may or may not make a difference. But also I noted in a super quick camera test, that the Note 20 looked better at 3x zoom than the S20 FE did. I would have thought the S20 would have looked better there.

Fingerprint sensor works fine. It's as fast as the sensor on my Huawei P30 Pro and so far hasn't failed to read my fingerprint.

Would you be able to check if the 40W SuperCharger from your P30 Pro works with the S20 FE at 25W?
I'm upgrading from a broken P30 and it would be cool if I didn't have to buy the 25W Samsung charger.
Cheers
My S20 FE 5G is coming today, really excited :victory:

It doesn't work unfortunately. Doesn't seem to be charging any faster than the standard charger.
As the title says, i'm looking to get a new Phone and can't really decide.
I'm getting the non-5G version in Germany, so for the S20, Exynos it is. I have the S10e now and never had major issues with that Exynos, so it's not really a downside for me.
I've had Xiaomi phones in the past and neither MIUI nor OneUI bother me.
It basically comes down to: I've had better luck with unlocking xiaomi phones (and this still seems to be true now), but the Samsung offers AMOLED. Both are high refreshrate. I don't care for cameras too much.
The xiaomi will be marginally cheaper (not by much). I just need a large phone to replace my S10e now and it really seems to be a toss up in this case. What would you choose? Maybe had experience with either of the phones?

You basically answered your question. If you don't mind too much about exynos and the difference in price is minimal, pick the S20 FE. You'll have the AMOLED and some extras like, IP68, Samsung PAY, DEX, and others.

Yeah wasn't sure how big the Exynos "penalty" was this generation. Seems Standby drain is higher from what i gathered. You're probably right as the screen is the most important thing on a phone. Since we're charging every day anyways...
I liked that the Mi10T is a bit bigger but i guess that's only noticable in direct comparison.
People really overestimate online on how much the exynos is behind of snapdragon. By notebookcheck's benches, it's barely -10% slower, but people also forget the 5G SD version is up to 150€ more expensive in some places, so you end up paying over 20% more for 10% performance.
Hi, just ordered S10 ultra with exynos and now saw some comparison.bi thought it would just be speed difference but it seems exynos makes images worse. Had this been "patched" during the year or is the exynos image quality much worse? I bought in Sweden so no option for snapdragon
This is S21 thread, not S10
Sorry title was correct but not the post. I am talking about S21 ultra

the only way to know if there is a difference would be to have the two phones in hand and to do your own tests, on the internet they sometimes found the SD sometimes the EX in front of nothing really clear

Exynos 2100 variant is not much worse, nor is it much better than its SD888 counterpart this year (unlike in previous iterations)
Breaking from tradition, this year they're pretty comparable, especially after all the updates and optimisation. Stick to Android 11 initially otherwise your opinion of the phone will tank really quickly.
However, the SD888 version does have an edge in gaming. If that is super, super important to you, it may be an issue. But otherwise, for day to day usage both are practically the same phone.
I think I might be looking at to many comparison videos right now one showed me closeup images of both and it looked like totally different phones. One was much more smudgy. I am hoping that we one day can get that warmer look at iphone produces on selfies, it just tints the images to a more pleasing yellow/red
Hopefully getting phone tomorrow for testing. I have a S9+ right now
Hi, the Exynos is definetly worse in image and video quality. The noise processing is very aggressive and the images are indeed smudgy. Go for the snapdragon without hesitation. Also, I am on the Android 12 update on my Exynos and the issue is still there. You can see a proper comparison here:

You're raising your concerns a bit late since you've already ordered the exynos device, right? Just because you're in Sweden it doesn't preclude you from buying the snapdragon variant, most retailers ship worldwide. I concure with @enigmaamit's advice, hold off on updating to Android 12, it's a hot mess. The only features you might miss are the MicroSD and 3.5 Jack.Enjoy your new phone, it's a big improvement over the S9+.
