Editing a photo changes the date taken since 9.0 update - Huawei P10 Questions & Answers

I am in Canada and have the Huawei p10, which I extensively use to take photos. The current update has changed the entire interface, but one problem is very troublesome and I'm hoping it's a setting i can change.
When editing a photo in the gallery, from any date or time, once the edited photo saves instead of retaining the date taken and saving next to the original, it moves to the beginning of the album and takes on today's date. Is there some setting I'm missing to prevent this from happening?
Thanks in advance

I'm on 9.0.1.185(C432E1R1P9) and don't have your behavior. After editing a picture in gallery in changes the filename and the modified date, but not the capture date. See following screenshot.

Does the edited photo stay where it was in the album or move to the beginning? That's the main issue with the behavior that is a problem. If yours stayed where it was in the album then something must be in a setting for me

[Q] SOLVED Slimbean 3.1 contacts photo

After a full wipe, and manual format /system I flashed the slim bean 3.1, everything working perfect except the photo in contacts, I cannot change a photo or insert a new one. I tried to insert one from camera and working.
Can you see if this is a common problem or it’s happen only to me?
For me it is working!!
You just have to click the contact and then you have to click on the empty space for photo and you'll get this

I did the same a lot of times and I selected photos from different locations ( I tried from internal and external memory) but nothing, maybe is something wrong in my configuration
Solved
Ok it's solved. I chose the photo from file manager instead of Gallery which is the correct way

[Q] No EXIF?

Hi guys,
I'm new here to the forums and my first time posting a question here for the Z1
I was wondering where I can enable or see the EXIF of my camera images.
I've noticed that each time I view the details of the picture I just took I can only see the width, height, model, and brand but no details like ISO, exposure, aperture, and the like.
I'm using a C6903 Generic PH 14.2.A.1.136
I've never rooted or unlocked my bootloader
Upload your image to Flickr. I'm using Flickr app in this case. There are a lot of ways to find out EXIF metadata. But I prefer use Flickr since it won't compress my image during upload.

There's plenty of apps on the play store in using exifviewer

I see. Other than flickr are there apps you could recommend that supports the exif and a decent loader for images?

Great job. I've been trying to do this myself but other posts refer to old touchwiz (seclauncher) and the new MagazineLauncher seems different.
Does this also affect the home page grid size? Because I'd also like to reduce icon and text size on home page.
*Update: I'm not able to get this to work on t325 with deodexed rom (Pro Plus v1). Tried flashing and replacing Magazinelauncher manually then wiping dalvik. But tablet would not boot, just says "Optimising apps", then "Starting apps" and gets stuck.
I haven't tried it on stock though.
Is this planned for SM-T520?

One UI location services etc

It appears one has to have high accuracy location ON else nothing really works anymore in Pie.
In Oreo, my location was set as GPS only, all apps functioned fine like this. With all apps I'm referring to Google maps, Wifi analyzer, Google location sharing etc..
Can folks who are on One UI confirm this to be the case, as perhaps hopefully I'm missing something. I don't like the idea of being forced to use high accuracy all the time.

I think I figured it out. The setting I was looking for appears to be within Google location accuracy menu within Google settings. In Oreo I could set the location to GPS only from the setting menu and couldn't find it in One UI.

Sorry for the extra post. The only way I could locate "location accuracy" was within the attached screen.

problam with android 9 update

hello.
I updated my phone to Android 9 and then I encountered the problem below
When I change the navigation mode to fullscreen mode from the Settings menu and turn off the Keyboard Gesture hint mode, the keyboard drops too far from the bottom of the screen.
Have you ever encountered this problem?

That's not a problem it's there so you don't have to get used to new layout. Try SwiftKey and you'll have to learn to type again because it's far to low..

Get in the keyboard layout and adjust it then it will have the right position as before.View attachment 4709269View attachment 4709270View attachment 4709271
I prefer the old Samsung UI. I think the new One UI is a bit too cartoony.

What he said. You just drag the bottom dot down and adjust the top dot to a comfortable size. No more wasted space underneath your keyboard.
