Please have a look at my unboxing and let me know if you have any questions at all.
8GB/256
Full review incoming shortly.
Thanks!

Your music is too loud and you are speaking entirely too low. I would recommend no music during the actual video. Cannot tell what youre saying at all.

Your a little late to the party, but a good video minus sound. Enjoy your beautiful high-performance OnePlus 7pro!

Thanks for the comments, won't put any music during my case reviews that are coming up in the next few days

How is the sound recording quality?

Hello guys!
I want to buy this phone but the sound recording quality is importante for me. I´ll record meetings and, sometimes, from about 3 or 4 meters...
Can anyone say if the sound recording quality is good? My question is becuase it is waterproof... maybe it will make the recording quality below average?
Thanks!

It really depends.
I've seen some people say that it was bad (according to their opinion)
But I've also seen that said there was nothing wrong with it.
The Z3C has 3 recording settings (in terms of sound)
Silent, normal, concert (something like that) so I guess you'll have to play around with those to see which fits the occasion best.
Here are 2 random videos I found, And in my opinion the sound isn't bad. Based on my own experience it's not bad either, but I'm not you, you need to judge it by yourself.
I'd say go to a store if possible and just record some stuff. (Please note that the Z3C doesn't come with a build in sound recorder app so you'll need to get one from Play)

My experience so far is based on two scenarios.. Concert and alarm test messages. Both are absolutely great in quality! Using sonys audio recorder to even record stereo audio.
Sent with my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact with Tapatalk Pro
I have not done extensive testing regarding sound, yet, but from what I have done I am impressed with the default sound. It has a wide sound stage, but very clear. However, I have recently purchased Sony's STM10U Stereo Microphone which works on the Z3 devices. There is also Sony's audio recorder app that works with this mic to download.
It really adds a studio type control, blocking out all external sounds, providing a more focused sound. Great for concerts. Comes with a wind cover which is handy for blustery days. This way, I have all my sound options covered.

If you record regularly I'd suggest investing in a decent mini microphone that plugs into the headphone jack. I find the built in mic no better or worse than other phones I've had, but have not done any detailed comparison.
I have found the sound quality absolutely perfect with the Z3C!!!
I play in a band and have always been jealous of how well my friends iPhones have been able to record our band practices. My z3 compact is loads, loads better than my galaxy nexus or HTC hd2 but still not as even good as the iPhone 4 I'm afraid when it comes to recording at very loud volumes.
I'm also using the Sony audio recorder. It works well but the files are massive and can only be saved on internal memory.

Bad sound quality on videos

Hi,
I have a MI8 with MIUI 9 Global, the 9.5.13, and i recorded a video today on a loud environment, and the sound is really bad, if it is too loud, you can't really hear anything because i assume it tries to remove background noise and ends up messing up everything, even my Redmi note 3 pro has better results. Is there any software fix, some custom camera app, or anything that i can do to try and fix it? Is it even just me?
Thanks.
Hello,
Can you share the video? I wanna hear if it's like on my redmi note 4 when I record a video in loud concerts.
Thanks
Just update to miui 10 and the sound will be great. It was a bug on miui 9

MIUI 10 does not resolve the issue. He is most likely talking about how it picks up ambient noise and seems to amplify it. If you have a standard in door house fan or an AC on, you will hear it in the video, something that most other phones don't really pick up, or at least not nearly as much as the Mi 8. It's annoying and was one of the main reasons I was going to purchase the Mi Mix 2S instead. In the end I chose the Mi 8 due to the better battery life. This was one of the videos I watched to compare the cameras, and you can really see the difference between the two.

Swapped my Honor View 20 for the Oneplus 6T, did I do the right choice? (mini review)

So about 3 weeks ago I swapped my Oneplus 6 for the Honor View 20 and two days ago, Honor View 20 for the 6T, spoiler alert, I miss the View 20 already...
So I initially got the View 20, because I'm a fool for specs and the Kirin 980, 48mp camera, 4000mha battery, IR blaster were very appealing for me, so sold the OP6 and got the View 20 as soon as it was released here in the UK, used for about 3 weeks and I must say, apart from the crappy MagicUI/EMUI, the phone is amazing, 10hrs SOT, IR blaster, come on, this should be in every phone, it's so useful, remotes are these magical devices that have the power of teleportation and having the power to say FU remote, I have my phone to control the TV is awesome xD, but for real, I missed this feature, shame that the trend now is dropping useful features and the OP6T is a good example, no headphone jack, please... Now back to the View 20 great features, the 48mp camera, it takes way better pics in low light compared the the OP6T, OP6T they just look muddy... now the screen, for an IPS, it was very good, looks higher res than the OP6T, it's not, but it just looks crisp and clear compared to the AMOLED on the OP6T and that punch hole it feels less intrusive, when watching videos, it's "hiding" in the corner, this will definitely be the trend in 2019 and I can see why. Now the reason for going back to the OP6T, well, the OS, OOS is simply the best variant of Android, Stock with just enough customisation to make it great and still feel like stock Android, if only the there was a View 20 with Android One, that would be the perfect phone for me, great design, great cameras, amazing battery life, very fast, IR blaster and great big screen... OP6T is a great phone, but the View 20 is better in my opinion.
If anyone is thinking of buying a £500 phone and doesn't care about having stock Android, rooting and custom ROMs, I would recommend the Honor View 20 without a doubt and here in the UK at least (maybe more countries), you also get the Honor Magic Watch with it (worth £180), a no brainer really.
Oh and before someone says that Huawei is spying on us, well, so is most intelligence agency in the world and I bet they love the weird and boring stuff I'm into xD
Have a good day XDA community
UPDATE: Another thing about the OP6T and other manufacturers that will from today be a big No No for me, that is, having the volume and power button directly opposite each other, here's why... So today my brother sends me a WhatsApp with a video, that it looked like a review for a kids toy, so I started watching it at work, to see if it was something worth it for my kids, but the video volume was weirdly low, so I start cracking it up, at that point the video starts shouting this loud women having an orgasm and in the panic, I kept pressing volume down + power button, taking screenshots instead of lowering the volume, so everyone in the office starts looking at me, until the video ends, wtf xD I find it funny now, but at the time I was really mad at my brother and the phone, on the View 20 this would not be an issue, as all buttons are on the same side of the phone... Just another warning if you have friends/family like this.
On xda developers YouTube channel they did a review of both phones...didn't finish the whole video but worth a watch

Thanks for the laugh.similair thing happened to me in school the other day ..podcast started playing at loud volume right at an embarrassing part... everyone in class stared and laughed. Pretty funny in hindsight but very embarrassing at the time!
The whole thing abt oneplus phones is the software experience, doesn't matter what Huawei/ Honor has to offer... Emui just f... The whole experience , if u honestly enjoyed the honor, means u aint really an android enthusiast,
People are so blind. So it's a great phone but it has crappy UI/Software. Surely the user experience is very high on the list if a phone is enjoyable to use or not. Sorry but this just sounds like a blind fan boy talking.

Like I said, I did not enjoy EMUI, but I did enjoy the features it offered and you're correct, I'm not and Android enthusiast, I'm a tech enthusiast also, have you updated to latest OOS version? how's the battery for you or anyone reading this, I unplugged my phone at 95% at 2am went to bed and at 6:30am I had 85%, 10% in 4 hrs of not using the phone, is this happening to you as well?

I know but in a panic that happened and even not in a panic, it has happened sometimes, if it never happened to you great, but just something to keep in mind, if this was an issue before to anyone, might be as well on the OP6T, I remember this happening on the Samsung S6 as well...

Sometimes give it a day or two for the battery to settle down, i use do no disturb mode when in bed, haven't experienced any drain, and yes, on the latest OOS, we all are tech ent, and i am bringing it all up from personal experience not just from browsing abt, had mate 20 pro, and i am sorry but this was a total joke with software, also missus has p20, again even they can't sort out Always on display for years( no 3rd party support) never mind the rest,
I agree I've owned all the latest honor devices and they do come up with some nifty tricks to hook you in I was very close on purchasing the view 20
But put mainly off by the finish on the back looks bit naff and since they no longer support development well that's a no brainer like op said if you could get pixel experience rom on there it would definitely be a winner don't understand why Huawei/honor stoped bootloader unlock it must be hitting them hard in the pocket maybe one day they will wake up [emoji44] Power to the 1+6T [emoji41]

Same problem. I come from iphone 6s which had great audio for concert recording. On redmi its garbage im really dissappointed.
hope they fix it on next global miui update
I don't think that xiomi will solve, let's hope someone solves that with Rom
I find also audio in phone conversation lacks clarity.

Think I saw somewhere that the Mi 8 Lite has better concert recording sound. Don't both phones have similar microphones and software or am I missing something?
Haven't tested my 3 day old RN7 yet but am looking forward to seeing how it sounds recording video in loud environments

Red Magic 3S Movies Anywhere & Vudu Playback?

I just got my red magic 3s. When I try to play VUDU movies if its HD or 4K it will only play in SD. Also when I try my movies anywhere it gives me a play back error I am unable to play any movies. Can any one help?
I found this online if this helps. Since the red magic 3s is L3 any one know a workaround on this....
Download the "DRM Info" app from Google Play and run it to see what Security Level your phone has. It must have "L1" in order to download/play movies in HDX. If it shows L2 or L3, it can't do HDX
So I was worried about this as well. I just got my 256 gb 3s today and started to play two shows I was watching on my Note 10 plus, Wu Assassins and Fractured (on Netflix). I queued both up at the same point and compared the video quality as well as the volume. I literally could not tell the difference between both shows playing at the same time. As a matter of fact, the video quality on the 10 plus seemed a little darker and bland compared to the 3s I just got. I cranked up the 10 plus brightness to compensate but the colors were still a little darker on the skin tone. Volume was about the same, maybe a little louder or more stereo like on the 3s. I went back into the episode title and noticed the HDR was missing next to the title information which tells me it's playing in standard def.
I don't know if my settings for Netflix are wrong on the Note 10 plus but I'm much happier now with my viewing experience on the 3s since I can't discern any lesser quality compared to my Note 10 plus.
