I purchased a imate pda2k from ebay but its imei is blocked in my country. Anyone in the same situation?? I will be willing to trade imei numbers. Please pm me for more info.
If you're in a position to change the IMEI, why not just buy a semi-free non-blocked phone from ebay/retail? I don't know if you'll have any luck with ebay where you are, but you can go to the highstreet and buy a brand new pay as you go phone for around £15 here, including the equivalent in talk time.

Better than buying a phone to get an IMEI you can ask a friend with an old phone to throw in the bin and get its IMEI or... check any GSM forum that allows posting of IMEI to generate unlock codes and 'steal' an IMEI from a country you'll probably never visit (like Japan, Philipines, etc...) and this is the reason why IMEI numbers should never be exposed in public places nor given to someone you don't know nothing about
Hi, i will travel to Turkey for several month, if you didnt buy the Phone in Turkey the carriers will block your phone after 1 month of using it,
you have to pay $100 to register you IMEI to Turkish carriers, its a waste of money since i already bought an HTC One Unlocked version,
click this link to understand if you didnt, http://www.turkeytravelplanner.com/details/Communications/registration.html
so here is my problem, if i changed my IMEI to another phone's IMEI will i be able to use the phone there ? and if so is it safe to do it ?
will i Brick my phone or harm anything?
if you have another solution please tell me because i need HTC One for navigation in Turkey i cant go without it, and i certainly DONT want to pay $100 just for being able to use a FREE GSM carrier.
Thanks

In this country (UK) and a lot of others changing the IMEI number is illegal !
Additionally the IMEI is usually hard coded to your device and cannot be changed anyway.

its actually possible, just google it (or Bing it) there are lots of ways to do it
And discussing things like this is not allowed on here...
The act of changing IMEI is illegal, so discussion of changing IMEI is forbidden. Thread closed.
Hello guys!
I know that the N900A KK, as of now can not be rooted, but i was wondering if anyone knows a sure way to unlock the simcard to use in another country?
I got some bad advice and I bought a brand new Note 3 with bad imei, thinking that it wouldn't matter since I don't live in US. If I can't find a service that unlocks it or root it I am screwed!!!!
Thank you
You're screwed. Xda prohibits the discussion of imei anything.

Contact the carrier who blacklisted it, they are the ones that can re move the blacklist and unlock it.

Hi!
my Nexus 6 detects no SIM card, I bought it used and with this problem. I'm from Europe and I suspect that the phone could come from US . This could have something to do ?
What can I do?
Thank you very much !
European sims work in North American version fine.. Sounds like a faulty sim tray. Send it back.

thanx!
I asked for price of sim card reader change repair in a local Repair shop and it is around 30 to 50€, good news if this is the solution!
I was afraid this problem could have something to do with the last owner changing software, I am beginner in all this matters.
Could be blacklisted?

Sims lock is usually done by the carrier and it is unlocked when it is paid off.
So what can I do in that case?

Whatever carrier the phone was originally purchased on has a lock on it. If the phone has been paid off with that carrier you should be able to contact them to have it unlocked. If it hasn't been paid off with the original carrier then the original purchaser of the phone needs to have that done.
Most carriers will not unlock the phone unless it's been paid off.

Open a case with PayPal and eBay and get your money back. It's either a phone that hasn't been paid off yet, or a stolen phone.

I tried that, but ebay won't let me return it because of "as is " condition of the phone... What can i do? There's no way to unlock it and use it in my country? Dominican Republic.
If the device wasn't paid off then it's fraud and they will make good. There was / is a thread here about selling a device that wasn't paid off in full. Well this is what happens if you do sell or buy one in that state. Maybe you can call the carrier and ask if it's paid off. If it is they will unlock it for you.

They probably mean carrier unlocked, not bootloader unlocked.

Then you might have to call the carrier in your country to have the device provisioned for their network.

Ebay has a 30 day money back guarantee to protect the buyer. I've used this a few times, and they always get me my money back! Unless your past the 30 days, then you can file a paypal claim.
I have the same issue. It's a Google issue from what I hear. I got my unlocked new pixel 4 right from Google. Put in my ATT sim and it said "sim isn't supported, contact xfinity". Hahaha..
so I contact them and they send me a new phone. Same thing. This is a very new issue and I finally found someone asked the same question on Google assistance and it was said it was a google issue and they are trying to fix it.
What a crock... I can't believe Google's own phones don't work as they should.
Rest assured, its most likely not a stolen phone, or unpaid. It's a Google problem.

Are you kidding? Ok, rereading I see what you are saying. But they must have given you a reason as to why your sim doesn't work. Where are you located?
I didn't say Google sent me a stolen phone. Re-read the post and the link. It appears to be a Google software issue.
Have you personally experienced the problem? I have, as have others in the link I posted and the OP.

Post edited above. This is not a Google problem, imo. Where did you buy the device and which version. Perhaps you bought a Verizon model like some of the posters in the thread you linked to? This is not a known issue so you folks are doing something wrong whether it's buying the wrong device or your carrier doesn't support the phone. But it's really up to you at this point to figure out where you have gone awry.
