Android police just announced that a 4.1.2 update has been released to AOSP, and the Nexus 7 is apparently already receiving it!
We're releasing Android 4.1.2 to AOSP today, which is a minor update
on top of 4.1.1.
As a note to maintainers of community builds running on Nexus 7: please update to 4.1.2 at the first opportunity. Future variants of the grouper hardware will have a minor change in one of the components (the power management chip) that will not be compatible with 4.1.1.
The build number is JZO54K, and the tag is android-4.1.2_r1.
Enjoy,
Conley and JBQ

Update #1: 4.1.2 has already started rolling out to the Nexus 7, though mine doesn't see it yet.
Update #2: Since I mentioned seeing 4.1.2 with this very build number in the server logs, I'll throw in the devices that I saw running it, in addition to the Nexus 7 (this doesn't mean the updates for them are out now, but rather a good indication of what's to come):
Are we ready?
JellyBean 4.1.2, the incremental follow up to 4.1.1 isn’t a major update by any means, but promises to improve performance, increase stability and fix certain bugs.
It also adds rotation ability to the homescreen, something that wasn’t possible in the previous version of the software.
Could someone please post a dump of this (or point me towards the easiest way to download it while running a custom ROM on my N7)? I'd like to hack away at pulling out the launcher and making an update.zip for it.
Hi everyone, I hope this update will fix the lag problem with few mb/gb free on my N7.
I dont want to flash the factory image cause it wipes everything.
If I flash a nexus 7 stock rooted odexed will I receive the update? What do u suggest?
Hopefully Google fixed the bad display calibration!

To be clear, What JBQ says in that post is that the source of 4.1.2 will be pushed today to the AOSP repo, he asks to the community maintainers of nexus 7 builds (such as CyanogenMod) to update the source ASAP. it does not mean that the Nexus 7 is receiving an OTA update now, I will soon I'm sure,
JBQ also said that the updated factory images will be available as soon as the OTA is, and that the change can be pulled from the commits in the repository..
That's all for now.
So I have my Nexus 7 rooted and unlocked running stock software, will I be fine to get the OTA?

Actually, there are many reports of Nexus 7 users getting the update so it is rolling out now. It also adds home screen rotation to the stock launcher.

I think you will get the update-notification at least..
The question is if a custom-recovery prevents updating.

Yeap, that is what Im Looking now, no word about that from JBQ but there are those reports, No update for me yet.
Saw the 4.1.2 being reported on twitter. Has me all tingly, curious to see what else is included besides home screen rotation. Currently running Codename android rom so I have to wait. :fingers-crossed:

JBQ has nothing to do with the OTAs so he will not be announcing it.
I really can't wait to try this update out!
Unfortunately, I'm not getting any OTA updates. D:

Making headlines today is the news about QuadRooter vulnerabilities in a large number of Android devices (estimated 900 million). I started this thread to allow people to report which current ROMs are showing up as vulnerable using Quadroot Scanner, and which aren't.
Running stock KitKat ROM (4.4.2) on my i9192, I can confirm it suffers from all 4 vulnerabilities (no surprise).

TrustLook just updated their scanner so now it gives the same result as CheckPoint
They have added a GPU scan because "since many QuadRooter issues are activated through Qualcomm's GPU driver" ....... You don't say
l'm on CM13, 0809 build,
Updated to latest CM13 nightly 0816.
Now CheckPoint have updated their app also, result is now reversed with Check Point giving a pass, however it's not checking for 2 CVE's now. While Trust Look now fails 5340

I believe there is a reason for that, scans for those two are inaccurate. Patches for both these were implemented a while back, yet they got reported as vulnerabilities.

Yes, you are correct, I believe. And that 5340 exploit one has been blocked by latest updates, so should not show as vulnerable in Trustlook.
Though I did come to the conclusion that at least one bug was not yet fixed properly as it's in the Qualcom OEM blobs, but our phones are safe as Googles inbuilt security checks will prevent exploit working.
Do you guys agree?
Yep, correct. Anyway I am never scared of exploits where you actually have to agree to run an apk, even if it does not require special permission. These are educational, will teach people proper computer use

You can always find new updates with Huawei Firmware Finder, or on this page.
INSTALLATION:
OTA: You need to have stock recovery. you will extract the UPDATE.APP from the .zip and put that in a folder called "dload" in your phone's SD card. Now you can either:
Dial *#*#2846579#*#* in the stock phone app, and go Software Upgrade > SDcard upgrade or
Shutdown the phone, and then hold POWER, and both the VOL buttons until the EMUI update starts
FULL:
You can flash the update.zip in TWRP. It will show a small error but it's fine.
You can also extract the UPDATE.APP and get the partitions boot, cust, system using Huawei Update Extractor (usage instructions in the forum), then flash with fastboot through an unlocked bootloader (HOW DO I DO THAT?)
If you have stock recovery you can extract the UPDATE.APP from the .zip and put that in a folder called "dload" in your phone's SD card. Now you can either:

you're right, only security patches.. We want more modifications of the ROM, I go well with the one of Persona78 is a crack, a greeting.
PErsonally I'm really glad that they keep the patches coming. I'd like to get more than that for sure, but Huawei can't invest on this phone anymore... It's important that they still provide these updates. We have custom ROM development now

Already takes 2 years of support and that is a lot for a mid-range mobile.

That we have stable android 7.1.2 roms which are very fast and stable and maybe the phone survived one more step. But android 8.0 is not really a big step, or? But 7.1 was important. Very happy with it
This cannot include security patches for September. It's impossible. I talked to Google, they said that this can't be. I don't know if Huawei does anything at all in these patches. I don't think so.

Yeah, they are fake every month. Google releases the patches on the first Tuesday every month.
The sizes ARE different to a degree that suggests changes. Surely last month's patches are included though like August in the "September" patch

You talked to google? But you are maybe right. Another person here in xda forum has tells that was possible to infect the device although all fixes which should be included. So, what is the security patch level worth on P8 Lite stock rom? That's the big question. Maybe the patches will be included just partially? Maybe it's a huawei own security patch level?

With the b610, September 1st patch. And latest version of Magisk 13.3 works perfectly and ALL in green.
Con la b610, parche del 1 de Septiembre. Y última versión de Magisk 13.3 funciona perfectamente y TODO en verde.
I have downloaded from Firmware Finder b610. Once installed my device says it's b609 but i have dual sim one
Of course they released just a patch! Why would they release EMUI 5 or at least EMUI 4.1(non-vodafone) for this device?:good:
Oh well... at least we get security patches...
I "only" want these (being possible):
Android 6.0.1(idc if it's emui 4.1)
Latest GPU drivers(and maybe higher gpu frequency(btw, Huawei support said they can optimize gpu, but they won't raise its mhz) or cpu freq)
Latest kernel, 3.10.107
Linux on DeX now works on the S9. An update was pushed today which adds support for the S9. You need to be on Android Pie, and then download the LoD 1.0.51 apk from SamMobile. Works well on my S9 Exynos although every once in a while it warns me that the container is running out of memory and LoD may slow down. Other than that it works well.

Mine was updated on April 2nd 2019. Current Version: G9600ZHS3CSC1 /G9600OWO3CSAC/G9600ZCU3CSAA - Security patch level: March 1st 2019. When I check if there is any new updade, it says: Your software is up to date. So I will wait until I receive the security patch update of April and test again the Linux on Dex version 1.0.51 on my S9. Maybe this is the problem.

Tried it, and I have to say I'm not impressed. Linux Deploy does a better job for the most part. The main advantage of LoD is that it doesn't require root. But we're stuck with and outdated version of Ubuntu with Unity (yuck) and around 4 gigs of unnecessary files. I can't get sshd working either.

My security patch is from June 1, g960wvls5csea but I get the message when I try to run LoD update sftware blah.
New Camera Controller feature added
Change zoom on your phone camera remotely through pinching in or out on the screen, or through rotating the bezel.
*This feature is only supported on flagship models released after Samsung Galaxy S20 or Z Flip running at least One UI 5.1.
Samsung Members
A new “Connected device diagnostics” option has been added to check the proper performance of the Galaxy Watch’s battery status, touch screen function, etc. on the connected phone.
*Please update Samsung Members and Galaxy Wearable app to the latest versions for using the ‘Connected device diagnostics’ feature.
Stability and reliability
The stability has been improved.
This update also brings the January 2023 security patch to Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. We’d expect most of these features to expand to Galaxy Watch 4 in time.
Changelog look's awsome! Anyone get?

How is this a big update? It's just a stupid simple app that they added. A big update would be improvement to the GPS / HR / blood oxygen measuring algorithms, which are honestly bad.
