I have a fully updated stock A2 (4/64) with the stock back cover and no screen protector. Intermittently, the touchscreen stops responding a few seconds at a time. I have the Show taps - Show visual feedback for taps Developer Setting ON, and when the issue arises, the touchscreen does not seem to register the missed taps at all.
Sometimes, this problem disappears within a minute or two, at other times, I have seen this issue persist for 2-3 hours. A phone reboot does not help to resolve the issue.
I have seen a few threads on other sites where A2 users are experiencing this bug:

Can someone tell me if this is a hardware issue or whether it is somehow related to the Slow Sequential Write Speed eMMC bug? Thanks in advance!
Bumping; is no one else facing this issue?
I have the same problem

Recenty, every time I switch a call over to the speaker I end up with a misaligned screen, often needing a soft reset. I thought this could be related to the phone heating up, but it happens even after a short conversation with no discernable heating.
This happened a few months ago and it improved after I switched Radio ROM to 1.08.25.08, but has started up again.
Anybody had this problem, and/or can offer a solution?
Every once in awhile I'll turn my screen on and the screen won't respond to touch, if I hit the power button it only toggles the backlight, not the actual display. If I let the screen time out, it'll still toggle the backlight but the screen won't turn on. This usually resolves itself after a minute or so but it's becoming increasingly frustrating.
Also the problem did appear once or twice when I was on EPE54B but it's become significantly more common(like 3 or 4 times a day) since upgrading FRF91, I can't recall if it happened on FRF85B and it has yet to happen when I'm already using the phone, only when inactive.
PS the wifi seems to lose its connection when this happens although I've had the issue when not connected to wifi.
My phone is not rooted nor is the bootloader unlocked.

It's not a touchscreen problem.
Search my posts in General, you'll see.
Seems that it doesn't happen with new, non-stock Froyo and GB kernels.
When my battery falls below 50% my touchscreen begins to act weird. No matter what I select it chooses whatever option is at the bottom of the screen. I can occasionally get it to work if I reboot the device or open and close the keyboard about 10 times. Once it has been corrected it falls back to the odd behavior within about five minutes. I have established that this doesn't happen if the batter is above 50%, and if I charge the phone up only a few percent then the issue goes away.
The phone currently has Cyanogen 4.2.15.1
I'm stumped as to what could be causing this and was unable to find any similar postings on the forum. If this issue has been addressed in another thread I would greatly appreciate a link to said thread.
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
My G1 also has similar problem, the touch screen is totally not functioning, I still finding the cause but it's so annoying. When the touch screen is not working, I can't invoke the "Dialer" function, that means I can't dial. Also, when there's incoming calls, the dialer function can't pop up too. That makes my G1 can't be worked as a phone when touch screen is not working.
Hi guys,
So I had to replace my broken screen.
I replaced and everything was working fine until one day, after 1 month, I start getting some ghost touchs in my screen.
There are some spots that triggers the touch at random times and keep pressed.
I've attached a screenshot showing one touch, that of course it is not mine, but keeps pressed for some reason.
If I press that region very hard sometimes the ghost touch disappear which leads to conclude that something is wrong with the screen that I bought, BUT if I reboot the phone it also fixes it, and that is what bothers me the most, I think it is not a physical problem but a software thing.
Can anyone help me break down this problem?
solution?
Do you had any solution for that?
Was it a hardware or software problem?
Best regards,
Spasshawwe
Hello,
this is a tricky issue because is not recurrent but I'm not able to figure out the reason why.
I have tried already all the workaround (cache cleaned, reinstalling app, granted all the permissions, reboot device) still no luck.
When I receive a whatsapp call and I answer the screen turns black but sometimes (many times) when I put far from my ear the display is still black. I need to click 2-3 times the power button in order to switch on the display.
I have checked the promixity sensor and it works, yet I have calibrated again. So is not a hardware issue.
The pocket mode is NOT enabled.
As I said this is not happened every time but many times.
Someone experiences the same issue?
