I've been using this device for 5 months now but this June ive been experiencing charging issue since yesterday.phone is charging but VERY SLOWLY when booted up notif light colors red but baterry icon doesn't show charging icon when booted I know it's charging cause it increases but stays exactly the same when booted.also earphone and otg works fine but charging when powered off takes 4 to 5 hours last 3 days this was all fine but today?. I'm running on lineage 16 but that's not causing the problem I also tried other roms but didn't solve the problem and ressurection remix's charging info says charging very slowly. No prob with the charger tried swapping with the same cable cause it's the only type c cable I have.pls help can you tell whether THE Problem is On BATTERY , TYPE C PORT (CAUSE I USE IT ALL THE TIME EARPHONE CHARGER OTG ) OR THE CABLE?
PS : I USE IT FREQUENTLY WHILE CHARGING?
@unclee
could be the cable because included cable is poor quality
could be the battery because there will be no devices with new battery around, the battery could be three years old now
could be the temperature, the device usually charges slower at higher temperatures
Slow charging issue

For some reason (since lollipop cm12 nightly 20150121, currently on DStrikerz 4.7 stock-based ROM) my phone takes a while to recognised that the charger is plugged in ( an average of 1-2, sometimes not at all, sometimes longer and/or sometimes it randomly stop charging in the middle of charging).
This is what I have done:
I have done a clean flash by going to CM11 (not CM12) back to Dstriker ROM thinking some residual code may have stayed from Lollipop CM12 (cause it had slow charging issues, reported by many), but issue still persists.
I have tried different Power Bricks. I get 700-850mA from iPad charger with 2.4A (2400mA) output with stock cable. I get 200-300mA on a brick with 400mA output.
I have yet to fully verify this but I have had no problems with the other bricks (still need time)
(End of What I have done)
Now my question is that:
Is the lower mA normal when charging?
Do I have issues with my charging port (had charging port issues on previous phone which is Sammy GS2) or is it the brick and/or cable?
How long does it take for your phone battery percentage to go up 1% on average (mine is 1.5 - 5min average) ?
Any other software solutions you can suggest? (Optional)
Can you post a screenshot of the mA of your battery while charging so I can compare? (Optional)
Look at the screenshot at the bottom.

My phone has stock rom, and i used to have the problem of phone immediately not starting to charge...
I found out that the stock cable was loose when connecting, so i started using the cable of my older xperia u, which works fine
Have you tried turning off the phone and then charging?
Because sometimes the kernel gets moody and all that, i had these problems on my xperia u, and i then used to power off and then leave it on charging for some time

That's for the reply I just found the problem. It was the plug. My friend connected it to his GS3 for 1 hour and it only charged 3%. I've tried other charging plugs with stock cable as well for the past night and didn't have any problem. So I might have to replace or fix the plug myself.
test again try to start charge when the battery is at 20% and see if it still 300-400 mah so u may have to get a new cable or to get new charger also maybe the plug
the charging from 90 to 100 is usualy slow comparing from start to 90
test and tell

I checked too, my mobile also had around 400-500mA too, although it is charging and behaving normally

Interesting. I pushed the USB connection on the plug upwards (seen attachment) and it started charging properly at 700-900mA until 90% where it was 300-400mA, compared to the 300-500mA no matter what battery % I had left.
Charging was much quicker.
I remember doing the same on the GS2 charging port and phone charged properly.
I guess its something to do with no reenforcement at the top of the port. Both S2 micro USB port and Z1 USB charger plug port have no reenforcement at top. Think this is a design flaw.

Maybe, but my mobile also get fully charge in about 2 hrs max, and when i once checked this app about current, it was showing around 400-500mA at about 48%, although the mobile didnt take time to charge, maybe at that instance the current was that?
When I charge my phone and then remove the charger , the phone keeps charging until 100% , and I can't know the actual battery level , and sometimes I charge the phone and the battery level doesn't change and the actual level doesn't appear .
I was using resurrection remix ROM and now CyanogenMod 11 and still the same problem.
Any help?
You r download Battery calibration in Google Play.
Also doesn't work, when I unplug the charger before 100% it continues to charge until 100 und remains charged :S
You may have a problem in your charging port. After disconnecting charger try putting something small between the little prong and bottom micro USB charging port. Mine used to do that as well.

I updated my phone through OTA, but once i rebooted it aftet installing update, my USB port started to act strange. The phone takes 6 hours to fully charged ( with the same original power brick and cable) and also the cannot be recognized by any computer. OTG flash drives don't work anymore too.
Anyone else experienced these symptoms?

Bad wire...
You've lost a couple of pins... So you're not getting the turbo charger handshake... Further confirmed by loss of data to your PC...
Get a new wire... Make sure it specifies DATA/SYNC...
Unless you've burned up your turbo charger... Which I have heard of yet... Though I've broken the board in a couple of QC 2.0 compatible wall warts... But they just stop charging all together

Hey, I have the same problem but I bought and changed the cable USB so I solved the "problem".
This is weird but seriously I noticed this problem, Really I don't know.
Nexus 6 USB/charging port are this phones Achilles heel
I have recently resurrected my nexus 6 and found that it no longer gives me the turbo charger notification.

Fast charging notifications are ROM dependant. AFAIK, still not part of the stock ROM.
A way to tell what's happening is to use Ampere and look for ~ 1900 - 2200mA of current on the quick charger. ~ 500mA on a regular wall charger and <200mA on usb (computer) port.
The phone will only fast charge below a preset level. Somewhere around 80% the fast charge starts to slow down and that is reflected in the current measurement. By 85%, my N6 drops to ~1600mA.
If you go to settings -> battery while plugged into a wall (AC) charger and it shows usb charging, then check the cable and charger. Try different ones. If still it shows usb charging, then your phone charging port is messed up. I'd first try cleaning it.
If you can't remember the last time you cleared the caches (clean flashed) a factory reset might get things cleaned up as well.
If you're still using the original battery at this point in time, slow charging might just be a result of an old, expended battery.
My replacement battery (looks the exact same, may be a generic product, though) worked fine for a few days, but then the phone started saying: "Battery can't charge right now," and the batter level just stayed the same with the cable connected. I tried various cables and adapters; the situation didn't change. I read that maybe a missing temperature sensor could be the issue. Does anybody have experience related to the issue?

Battery and rom are probably not the problem, i've solved this with replacement of USB C charging port in the phone.
I repeated the process with the same battery, and I haven't had problems in over a year. just took it out, put it back in, and that settled it.
why you replaced the battery, battery dead ?
what are the symptoms ?
because my phone is restarting itself , while charging it shows 90 percent and so on, its on when charger plugged in and if unplug it will stay on for few min and if i open app or camera it start reboot
I've had the same problem
I've replaced battery with an aliexpress one but after some charges problem came back and I think the problem was about I was charging my phone with the wrong charger (was using the Aukey QC3.0), so I've started to charge my phone only with the genuine charger but with another USB-C cable because the genuine one sucks.
After using the genuine charger the problem never came back and I left the genuine battery on It.
I've noticed that the USB-C port on my phone miss the original standard measures of height and width of the hole, so when I plug the cable It plays a little in the port and this is the cause I don't use the genuine cable.
Guy guys guys...
The answer is simple ^^ (ok not really )
Clean your USB C charging port of your phone... that fixed 3 to 4 times my charging issues, sadly after I had bought several cables /batteries...
So first think you must do before checking any other thing... is getting all the crap that the USB C charging entry point has after so many years/months of usage... it gets quite dirty.
Hello everyone i'm facing a weird problem i installed syberia os 1.4 and last 2.0 and my phone won!t charge anymore .
Of course i did a clean install (wipe system cache dalvik data and even format data) with right firmware. When in recovery its sometimes charging but only for a few minutes . when charger is plugged it says it's connected but can't charge at the moment. I have no idea what the f... Is going on. I also tried arrow os and same issue.
I have no problem with revolution os (miui based)
Any clue?
Edit: finally the same problem occured with ROS Time to get a new phone?
Had a similar problem with a broken charger. Phone thought it would be charging but battery drained while connected to this charger.
I checked the chargers output and it was 3.3V instead of 5V.
I guess you tried different charger and cable?

3 cables and 2 chargers (1 brand new)
have you had a hardware problem lately?
Maybe you have to change the battery
I have the same problem. Before I flash the SyberiaOS in , I was running a Miui 10 on my phone. The same charger and the same cable, won't work just after flashing of the new syberiaos. Icon on the status bar indicates battery is charging, but the charging led never lights up.
The cable is only for charging use, not for data connection. When I use a data cable instead, and everything is fine.
Obviously the problem is caused not only by charger cable, and also the syberiaOS.
Any other solution?
Thanks!!!
