I have a Google wifi router setup at my house. 300 mbps down and all my other devices work flawlessly. My s105g keeps disconnecting or lagging and telling me I have no internet. Can I downgrade back to the old firmware?
I also did a factory reset and reset network settings on phone. Still the same results.
You are more than likely using wifi channels on the Google router/ap that are not supported by the region of the phone or firmware you have installed on the phone.
Login to your Google AP and change the channels for 2.4 and 5 GHz to channel 1 and between channel 36 and 44
I have Google WiFi and S10 5G with the most recent update and do not have any issues.

I have stock rooted Moto X on Tmobile and just purchase new 5ghz router. My Nexus 5 on 4.4.4 connects without issues but Moto X on 4.4.2 can see the network but as soon as I try to connect it tells me its Out of Range.
Anyone know what the problem is ?
no one uses 5 ghz n ?

Sorry, mine connects with no issue, did you try to remove the network and start fresh?

I did, but signal is very poor, need to be very close to my Airport Extreme to use it.
My router is a Netgear R6300 (v1) AC1750 with firmware V1.0.2.38_1.0.33 (I have not upgraded the router firmware due to known issues) Channel selection options for 5Ghz are 36,40,44,48, 143, 153, 157, 161.
I have no problems using my X with it (I left the router on the default channel 153 for 5Ghz)
While my iPad Air, iPad Mini w/Retina, iPad 3, iPhone 5s, Note 3, Note 2, Thinkpad with Edimax EW-7811Un b/g/n adapter, Samsung Ativ SmartPC Pro 700 (built in B/G/N), and even my two old Moto Xooms work on 5Ghz, my Galaxy S5 can't see the SSID for 5Ghz on the router unless I use channel 48 or below. But I don't care, my S5 is my work device and I rarely use it on wifi at home, so when I do, 2.4ghz is fine.

nope...still doesnt work
bought asus router and still having 5ghz issue. ordered replacement moto x from Motorola
I have a Linksys EA6700, which supports 5ghz 802.11ac, and I have disabled the 2.4ghz wifi.
I'm having problems connecting my Moto X to the wifi network as well - the range is EXTREMELY limited: I can be 15 feet away from my router and there would be no signal...
but my iPhone 5s and Q10 can still connect from that range
Hi
I have a dual band router, and i prefer to have as many devices on 5ghz, as it performs A LOT better in my apartment.
Of course i know that the chromecast is 2.4ghz only.
I have this issue: When i start something (netflix, youtube, deezer) from a device on the 5ghz network, it starts fine, but when the tablets go to idle mode, very often they stop seeing the chromecast and i lose control of the content playing (although it is still playing). This is not an issue if i run the tablets on 2.4ghz.
Any ideas?
May have set the tablet to to only use 2.4ghz when you are using the CC. Settings are under advance I think under WiFi.
I know with my phones in the house we have to limit it to 2.4 instead of 5ghz or we don't even see the CC since the our router has 2 separate ids for 2.4 & 5

That's weird, I have my 2.4 and 5Ghz networks with different SSIDs and I can see the Chromecast from either from both my tablet and Nexus phone regardless of which frequency they're on.
Really? Hmm with our moto maxx's and both RAZR M (all unlocked and rooted running newest firmware). When we have them in only 5ghz mode we can't see the CC
Are you sure the problem is actually related to using 5 GHz? I've seen the same problem on my 2.4 GHz devices - loss of connection to the Chromecast a few minutes after starting a stream, and difficulty of re-establishing it to control the stream. Maybe something else has changed, or you're just noticing the problem now.

Mines started doing it the last few days as well on 2.4ghz only, only some apps do it, youtube been one.
it's been my experience that CC can only be seen across 5 & 2.4GHz when channel width settings match across bands.
having said that, i've resorted to isolating the 2.4 band for CC traffic only, keeping all other devices (except tablet doing the mirroring) on the 5GHz band. ever since making the change, CC streaming has been relatively flawless.
It's probably a WiFI signal reception issue in general.
Case-in-point, I also have a dual-band router with different SSIDs on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz APs (you really should use different SSIDs except in special cases).
When my phone has strong medium to signal, I have no problem using Chromecast while connected to 5 GHz. Phone sleeps, wakes, still connected.
However, I just moved my workstation to another room where 5 GHz is weak. 2.4 GHz is still strong (lower frequencies travel better), though.
With my phone on 5 GHz, control of Chromecast was sluggish. Chromecast's playback was fine because it's still getting good 2.4 GHz signal.
My phone went to sleep, and when it woke it "forgot" it was controlling Chromecast - in fact, it could not longer see any Chromecasts.
I switched over to the 2.4 GHz network and Chromecast was visible once more. I rather use 5 GHz on my phone and leave the 2.4 GHz band uncluttered, so I might have to relocate/reorient/reconfigure my router now...
When I'm streaming and tab casting from a laptop, I connect it to 5 and everything runs smoother because the data stream is divided over two frequencies. However I find that the Nexus 5 screen casting feature is not as content to operate if I'm connected to 5 GHz.

i have a nokia 8 for a month now . im facing this problem on my wifi that only 2.4Ghz signal is displayed in my wifi list, it seems that wifi is not working properly because there are times that 5Ghz signal are displayed in my wifi list. its like sometimes it works sometimes not and take note that in using the same router with 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. Also my other phone (Xperia XZ) is working will with both 5Ghz and 2Ghz.
Some routers simply do not work properly with particular phones. I saw such behaviour in the past. Check your Nokia with different router. b
sir i already try on different router, modem ang portable router but i get the same issue.
Try resetting the phone.
i tried it already. reset wifi and data, also factory reset but nothing happened. i already returned to the nokia store. thanks your response sir.
I had the same problem and I think I found the solution,
first of all I tried rebooting and resetting my Nokia 8 and I didn't fix it, updateing the phone did not fix it, returning the phone for a replacement I found that the new phone showed the 5ghz band then an error message appeared and no 5ghz wifi were shown anymore!
the problem is when you set up a new phone you will choose a country, this option will set not only the language but other settings as well among them the channels used by 5ghz wifi in your country! the router might be set to a different country using different channel!
solution: access your router settings and check your wifi 5ghz advanced settings choose a country matching your phone settings and restart your router.
if this didn't work try an android app called wifi analyzer and check channel settings for 5ghz after choosing your country it will show you which channel are open for 5ghz in your country, pick a channel and return to your router 5ghz wlan advanced settings and change the channel option from automatic to your the one from wifi analyzer and apply and restart your router!
hopefully this will work
My note 9 (exynos) is not picking up the 5Ghz wifi. Only sees 2.4Ghz. Wifi analyzer also picks up 2.4Ghz only.
Bad unit?
did you try to clean the cache? I had an issue with the download speed & lag, then i cleaned cache just before i was about to factory reset. I'm picking up 5Ghz without issue.
Cleaned cache. Still no 5GHz wifi.
Ok, so i did a bit of googling. I have a Netgear Nighthawk router which seems to have problems with many different android devices. One of the solutions posted suggested to manually set a channel and reboot the router. I set the 5 GHz channel to 153, rebooted and hey presto! the phone picked up the signal.
Posting the solution here so that it helps someone.
As in no 5ghz at all no matter whose 5ghz you scan for?
i didnt have another 5ghz network to check against. most networks are still 2.4ghz around here
Good morning.
I would need help; wifi in the 5 Ghz band has not worked for a long time,
I have the LTE + Wifi tablet. ROM MIUI V10.3.2.0.ODJCNXM Stable
I can't get wifi to work on this band; it only works in 2.4 Ghz.
I have tried changing the frequency channel to 36, 44, etc; I have also changed the router frequencies from 80Mhz to 40Mhz and 20Mhz with no result. It does not occur to me what else can be done; install multiple ROMs; Chinese original and other EU versions; but all without result,
The wifi connects in low bands but without Internet access; it always keeps getting IP address and when it connects; you do not have Internet access; tested with various routers and different companies; I am starting to think that it could be a hadware problem; some help?
At the beginning of buying the tablet it worked well.
