custom IR remote - Xiaomi Mi 9 Questions & Answers

is there any way to add a custom remote or to submit the codes to Xiaomi so they can add them to their application?

Just install "sure" from playstore it's way better then xiaomi remote

I would like to avoid having multiple apps that do the same thing, otherwise could use AnyMote as I did before on my galaxy note 4 wich in my opinion is the most complete app of the kind.
It even allowed me to import a remote I learned the codes with an old media center IR reciever.

DrawSomething is verry laggy.. probably because it was not built for big screens?

Hi All,
I'm still playing drawsomething (version 1). Although unfortunately, on the Z1, I'm not able to draw smooth lines, only very jagged circles, like the app cannot keep up with the resolution or something. A circle becomes a 8-cornered blob, stuff like that.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Maybe run the app as forced LDPI instead of having the phone upscale it or something?
Thanks in advance!
I did not play that game but unfortunately on XDA you will not find fix for it, if not in the case someone did playing it, as the issue is related to the game and not the phone. Many of Games are bad coded so you can have many bugs.
Is nothing related to the phone so I think there is no solution.
But do write to the team that made that app. Don't just leave it if you want to play it.

Does Mi 9 support aptx Bluetooth?

Anyone using aptx Bluetooth can share your experiences?
My experiences are as follows: after buying the phone, the sony MDR-XB650 worked well with the aptx codec, Mi9 bought in Poland, software global stable EEA. After changing the ROM to the xiaomi.eu version, the headphones use the SBC codec and I can not change it in any way.

My latest EU rom (9.4.18) works fine with AptX.
Just manually set preferred Bluetooth codec in Developer option.
The default option of EU rom is set to LDAC, and due to your speaker/headphone don't support LDAC, it works in SBC mode.View attachment 4745594

How do you do it? I also have version 9.4.18 and despite the changes in the programmer's options, the handsets use the SBC codec. it's frustrating.

however, this is not a problem with MI9 or software, it turned out that headphones have options and only worked in SBC, I switched and I have aptx [emoji16]

Mi 9 Global 10.2.9.0
I have 4 different Bluetooth audio devices, all of them can do aptX or LDAC. However, the Mi 9 always puts them in SBC mode. I've tried developer options and selecting the codec, but it never sticks.
Bluetooth off, can't even change codec. On, can change, but resets when leaving developer options. Connected, changes after leaving developer options.
So there doesn't seem to be a way to use anything other than SBC at the moment. No physical headphone jack, trash Bluetooth audio support. Get what you pay for?
I have some Xiaomi wireless sport earphones, they work in aptX. I got what I paid for.

[PORT] Oneplus camera

I request any of the developers to give interest towards porting Oneplus camera to Redmi k20 pro. As Oneplus has better dynamic range and contrast on stock cam. Nightmode is 3 times better than redmi when compared
U mean on miui or custom aosp/caf/los rom?

OnePlus literally has the worst camera you can find on any phone that costs more than $200. If you don't believe me just go into the XDA threads for any OnePlus phone--whatever OnePlus model you pick there will be a thread about porting the Google Camera App that's dozens of pages long because it's impossible to take even decent pictures on a OnePlus phone without using the ported Google Camera App.
The fact that the coding on OnePlus phones is completely inept and has been since Oxygen Nougat (the first build of Oxygen after OnePlus fired all of the Oxygen programmers and shifted programming to the Hydrogen team in China to save money) is very well-known in the development community and among software engineers.
OnePlus gives away free phones in exchange for positive reviews and gives free phones to developers because it's much cheaper than paying for programmers who actually know what they're doing.

I just asked about the difference in the quality of cameras in K20 Pro and OP 7 Pro : https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/help/camera-quality-k20-pro-op-7-pro-t4025703
Are you sure that K20 Pro camera outperform OP 7 Pro camera?

[question] Filmic Pro and Xiaomi Mi9 triple camera

Hi there,
I'm going to buy Gimbal Zhiyun Smooth 4 for my Xiaomi Mi 9. I've heard that ZY Play app for this gimbal is not working properly (it crashes and all) so I'm interested in buying also FiLMiC Pro app. But I'm also wondering if this app can use all three cameras.
All answers will be much appreciated.

Xiaomi won't do anything to allow filmic pro to access all the lens. If u dont root ur phone, it is no luck to use all the lens.

Ok, still I'm going to root my Mi9 because of Titanium Backup and no warranty break from my local Service point in Poland. [emoji3] I just had to be sure that I won't break the warranty in Poland, at the end it depends on the Service point.

This don't worked for me on Mi 9 Can you please write what you exactly do to enable aux cameras in Filmic Pro?
vendor.camera.aux.packagelist="com.filmic.filmicpro"
this prop not makes any difference
I found the solution! To make Mi 9 (MIUI 11 Android 10 global rom) share aux cameras with filmic pro need to use prop
camera.aux.packagelist=com.filmic.filmicpro
without "vendor."

Could you explain this a little more? In which build.prop did you change/add this line? I'm trying for hours now but I could not get it to work!
My phone is the same as yours.
THX
Thank you!!

Thank you so much for this. I have been trying everything to get it to work. Finally this helped.
Only issue is I get 11 lens options in Filmic Pro even though my phone has only 4 lenses including the selfie cam. Selecting any of the other 7 options seems to crash the app. Idk whats causing this but I am just glad I have access to all the available lenses on my phone.

In system/build.prop, go to the line vendor.camera.aux.packagelist=***,***
Now edit the line to look something like this:
camera.aux.packagelist=com.filmic.filmicpro
Save and exit buid.prop and reboot your phone. Now open Filmic Pro -> Camera. You should be able to find the aux cams.
