Can anyone tell me why my rear camera is black and sometime my front camera come on and then off.. I did try restart the phone and try close all app but still hasn't come on
You describe severe issues that can only be described as catastrophic failures. Exchange the phone immediately for a working unit.
I agree with the previous poster, it seems like you have a defective unit.

I replaced the screen and digitizer on my Z1.
Everything went well from a reassembly point of view. However, my front facing camera and NFC do not seem to be functioning. I explicitly remember reconnecting the NFC and I don't believe I ever disconnected the front facing camera. The only thing that may have happened is the heat from the heat gun, but I never heated it past a temperature I couldn't touch bare-handed. But it still may be a possibility.
I don't have enough posts to post an outside link to youtube, but if you search youtube for "Xperia Z1 Screen Replacement" I followed the video by "Go Cell Phone Repair".
Do I maybe need to reset or reflash my ROM to reinitialize the hardware? I am using the rooted stock 4.4.4 ROM from Sony. I'm not too concerned about the front facing camera, but I would like to have tap to pay working again.
Any advice?
My rear camera was working last night and this afternoon it(Motorola Stock Camera) suddenly started telling me to restart the camera while Google Camera says that it can't connect to the camera. It's weird because I haven't dropped or treated the phone roughly lately and there haven't been any updates that would effect it.
Since the problem started I've done multiple restarts and completely wiped the device. The problem continues to persist. By experimenting with other camera apps I was able to figure out that the front facing camera still works fine. I'm worried that it is a hardware issue.
Mine just went out today. Mine happens to be an Asurion refurb. Anyone have any insight to this problem?
So I've had a problem with my camera for some time now. Whenever I start the camera app or anything that uses the camera, my phone starts vibrating/making a weird noise. It feels like it is initializing the camera, but I have no idea what is happening. All I know is it take an intermittent amount of time (1-5 seconds) of vibrating until I can use the camera.
I'm looking to get my phone replaced, but I've read so many horror stories of people getting refurbished phones that are in worse conditions. Should I get my phone replaced? Do they do replacements for different phones? (Return a S6, get something else instead?)
My friend's S6 has the same problem. He can prevent it from happening when he opens the camera app while the phone camera (rear) is facing the ground.
I wouldn't bother. Almost everyone I know with an S6 has/had this problem. It doesn't affect camera performance at all, just sometimes takes a few more seconds for the camera to focus on launch.
I got mine replaced. I have a a two year old and those seconds before the camera is ready is crucial to getting a silly face or just a blur...
MM update stops the vibrating thing, in my phone at least.
Hello everyone, I'd like to say thanks for checking out my thread :good:
About a week ago, I dropped my phone into a ceramic floor with the back facing down. The drop sounded loud however the phone looks intact.
A few checks later, I can confirm the phone is OK, except for both cameras and the flash.
The back camera doesn't work (the Camera app just crashes, Diagnostic shows Camera Not Connected), the front camera doesn't display anything (Diagnostic shows completely black picture) and the flash does not turn on.
I'm currently sourcing parts for testing, but I'm wondering if it's possible that the software may be the cause as well?
Although the phone didn't restart (it still worked fine, minutes before it dropped) I wanted to make sure.
Also, as a double check, I tried OpenCamera and it shows black. There's no "switch camera" option so I think it's showing the front camera.
Once again, thank you for checking my thread
Your motherboard is toast. I have a Z2 with water damage. At first it seemed like the camera module got damaged, but on closer inspection, it has the same problem as your Z3+, all things camera related stopped working. There's no easy fix, you either re-ball whatever chips got loose or replace the motherboard.
Maybe you need to replace only the camera, because I had approximately same problem
I had the same problem, it was enough to replace the camera module for me.
hi I know this is old thread but I just have the same problem, have you fix this?
replace the back camera will solve this problem or must replace both front and back camera?
My phone popped up with an update the other day. My wedding day no less. It was the one with the July security patch and said camera improvements.
Now it seems like auto focus is broken on my camera. I have tried resetting the settings in the camera app. The wide angle lense looks fine. I've tried 3rd party camera apps and they are the same. One of them popped up a message saying the lens could be dirty but I know it's not.
I'll likely try a factory reset next before I send it back but just wondering if anyone else has this issue. Not sure if it's a hardware or software issue.
Ok so I've read online... Hit it!
Sure enough a sharp tap on the side and it suddenly auto focused still not sure if that's hardware or software but it seems many people on the Samsung forum have the same issue.
Wow...that sounds scary..almost like OIS locked the lens and was not letting go.
Yeah I'm still not sure if it's a hardware fault or what but it can't be healthy for it. I'm glad I'm not the only one but a little worried about it.
There has got to be more people with this issue?!
I am also facing the same issue since the August software update. From my previous experience with note 20 ultra I can tell that is a software bug that can be fixed by an update. But I wonder when they addresses the issue and fix it.

My network O2 have accepted it as a repair request. I have had an email saying they are sending out a REPLACEMENT device. Not my original one repaired... I'm wondering if this means it is indeed a hardware fault.
Same problem here also. Blurry on zoom. Zoom doesn't work anymore. Not bigger than x9.9
Same here since the last update. I'd say odds on 90% Chance software issue rather than hardware.
The July update is the issue I think. Before then no issues at all
I'm nothing this too. Stuck on the the July update here in Aus and thr camera constantly blurry
