I can't see your photo but if it looks like this, I think is normal for the AMOLED display. Mine have this spot under the sunlight

Yea lol that's not new. I've done this on 5.1 too.
Is ambient display any better than Moto Display? Last time I checked it would now work with the IR sensors and would only stay blinking for a few minutes. By the way, thanks for sharing this, I wasn't aware of it.
for me it only worled when slide to unlock was enabled as the default unlock gesture, also the ir sensor did not work

Can u explain what is meant by delete moto ,where to delete it?
How to enable it , I want to give it a try.. Thank you.
No need to delete nothing, use just link2sd(in my case) to freeze the Moto app like Moto Display and Moto Display System Process, then go to seetings-display and you will see Ambient Display .iF you want to enable again moto display just unfreeze.Simple!

Xiaomi Mi 6 OFFICIAL CASE

The texture are quite rubber-ish.
Very grip.
Inside got fabric layer to protect glass body.
Quite comfortable.
And got bounce effect when drop, so it protects the device

I prefer the MSVII's one.It is useful because I like to play games.
There has been extremely good original Xiaomi flipcases for Mi 5 and Mi 5s. It is surprising that there is none available for Mi 6
where i can buy these original case?
I have a chineses one from GB and its cool but the grip sucks

Any fix for gyroscope?

So I just bought some VR glasses and I am having problems with VR apps and videos. It really moves awfully bad, slow and jumpy.
I have read that this phone has that problem, but maybe there is a fix out there that I can't find, or an update that fixed it, or maybe even a custom rom that has it working properly.
I am currently on PRA-LX1C432B182 build. I don't have this problem with other phones with gyroscope, so I guess it is a firmware thing, or just a really bad gyroscope.
Anyone has any idea?
Thanks in advance.
This phone does not have a gyroscope sensor. It has only a accelerometer sensor.

Holy guacamole, it really hasn't? The sensors apps detect gyroscope by STmicroelectronics. Maybe it is emulated?

There is no sensor model but it says the vendor is ST. So i think this phone use a seperate STmicrocontroller to fusion the accelerometer and magnetic sensors values to emulate gyro values. And if your phone has a gyro sensor you can feel this by the sensitivity while play a game or use a VR.

Mi 9 green, red dots around the screen

Hi,
I think my Mi 9 screen have some problems. Around the curve/edges there are a lot of green, red dots especially when the screen is white...
Am I right, it isn't an amoled bug? I have a screen which is faulty?!

That's normal. Are you running a xiaomi.eu ROM? I remember they had the screen masking deactivated. Those pixels were always there, but normally they are masked with a really small black overlay to "smooth out" the jagged display edge (due to displays not actually being rounded, but built in incremental stairsteps of pixel lines).

Darius is right. It's just the edge of the screen.

Dariusdd&kaydentc1 thanks a lot!
Yes, I'm using Xiaomi.eu ROM. In 20.1.4 they fixed: "Fix - Screen cutout (notch) and corners are jagged and/or misshapen"
So the screen is ok than. :victory:

Question What's the black rectangle below the LED flash ?

Has anyone figured what's the function of the blacked out rectangle next to the back cameras, and below the LED flash ? Is it a sensor of some kind, or is it just an athestic addition for looks ? there is no mention of it anywhere.
Xiaomi doesn't usually put fake sensors for looks like other really cheap brands, so I'm guessing it serves a specific function.
Here's a picture to show which part I mean:

It seems to be a laser focus module and anti-flicker sensor.

Where did you get that information ? Any sources I can quote ?
In the teardown videos I saw on youtube there seems to be nothing there, which is weird.

It is a back light sensor. Xiaomi mention about 360 light sensor. You can check this by tapping kernel version and entering into test mode
What is that RED DOT between FLASH and RECTANGLE
Seems to be for decoration purposes.
