Has anyone been able to successfully update the SWM 8802 headunit to android 8.1. I received this unit and installed it. I was under the impression that it was android 7.1, but turns out its actually 5.1. I have a couple issues I need to figure out/resolve.
Bluetooth - I cannot connect to my OBDII device or control any bluetooth settings
Touch Beep - The head unit beeps everytime I touch it and there is no setting to disable it
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for this answer on the disabling the beep too! Did you figure it out? If I find any info, I will post it here as well as this thread

Hi,
I have a Lumia 920 and have loved Windows Phone since my HD7. Back in April I switched from an Audi A4 to an A6 and in my A4 I had successfully had the sms read and reply functionality working and found it a really useful feature. Since getting my A6 I haven't been able to get it to work, I receive a message and then get the notification from my phone through the car Bluetooth asking whether I want to read or ignore, but the car never picks up my response so I have to let it repeat three times and then it switches off.
I believe it's the in car system which isn't activating the microphone for my response due to a missing Bluetooth profile (sorry I'm not that clued up on Bluetooth specifics)? Can anyone help me identify what's missing so I can talk to Audi to see if they can help resolve this?
Thanks
Andrew

All I can say is, either wait for Nokia to release the Lumia Black update or sign up for the Microsoft Update Preview, which is the GDR3 Update some devices have gotten already.
I use the Motorola Assist driving feature, and I noticed in the settings that it should learn my bluetooth devices associated with driving over time. I connect frequently to my JVC head unit through bluetooth, but it has never learned the device and will not auto play media from the application that I select.
Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it?

Yup... and nope. My in-truck bluetooth device (originally a Logitech adaptor, and recently a Kinivo BTC450) have never been recorded as a device in Asisst's Drive settings. As for play resume... this worked two updates ago, but the last two updates broke it, and this has been confirmed by Mark Rose @ Moto.
I have no solutions for fixing either short of waiting for another update... and hoping as many as possible reporting it through official channels so it becomes a priority for them to fix.

Android Auto will not work on your headunit.
However, you CAN use Android Auto the way it is supposed to work: install it on your phone and connect the phone to the unit using Easy Connect.
Thanks

Did I bought the right headunit? Because i thought this unit is self supporting.
Do you have a link or right APK file of Android Auto because i cannot find a official version?

Android Auto is not meant to be run on the head unit. ANY head unit. It always runs on the phone.
You can download it from here:
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/android-auto/android-auto-2-0-6427-release/
Make sure you get the right version for your processor
Looking for a good handsfree solution

Easy Connect is the best solution for mirroring your phone and it's included by default in factory ROMs.

Thanks for your answer.
But this is not easy to connect with.
When I get in the car, I activate first my phone Bluetooth and Hotspot and the Unit headset. Then every time he is asking for a USB connection? This setup takes long!
After he is making connection I have an Mirror and I can take out the USB and it's working. When I leave the car and i come back I have to do the setup again? This is not handy for short driving.
Other quistion; With mirroring only headup is possible and no landscape, so everything is smaller then on the phone and when you drive this is also not save to use.
Some body who can help me further?
Hello,
Today I installed the SONY XAV-AX100. Super. Everything works quite smoothly. I just have a problem with calling through android car. If someone calls me or call me and I connected via android car, so the call does not appear on the radio display only phone which is useless.
When I tested the Nexus 4 with Android CyanogenMod v6, it works well.
Some idea?

Firstly double check your bluetooth settings for that device and make sure all the sliders related to phone calls and Bluetooth audio are enabled, if that doesn't work - try a variation of making your head unit connect to the device and vice versa.
I have a 2014 passat and the Bluetooth works perfectly when connected, first connection on car start is a bit pissy because my smartwatch initially demands all Bluetooth, manually connecting to the VW Phone in Bluetooth just reconnects both devices and it works fine for calling, music and voice control.
If these tips don't work, It might sadly be a lack of support within the head unit itself (some are very picky)
@stevob21
You don't have AA and don't understand the problem, so why did you respond? It's not BT related issue.
@matata86
I have the same problem. AA has all needed permissions, but calls still not show on the unit. Interesting is that with my previous phone, P9 - it was working as long phone has Android 6.0. After update to 7.0 - it has stopped working. So it has to be related with Huawei's 7.0 phone manager. Someone with root access should try to freeze phone manager and check it...

Yeah apologies, I must have got this mixed with another thread I was looking at when writing this related to BT issues when connecting where phone calls/address books aren't operable though they work fine after manually initiating the connection.
Same problem here. I can make calls with "ok google, call John Smith" but the notification doesn't show in order for me to end the call. I can end the call from the phone but usually rely on the other party to end the call from their phone.
Text messaging has similar behavior. I can send text messages from AA using voice commands but cannot receive them on screen nor are they read back to me. Again, they do show up on the phone.
All notifications are allowed for the phone and messaging apps. I've also set the battery manager to NOT turn off those apps to save power during screen off. I've tried other phone apps, though I didn't think this should matter but why not try
The deck is a JVC KW-V930BW and the phone is a P10 plus. All other Android Auto features seem to function correctly. I read in a forum for some other phone brand that exhibits the same behavior that it is due to some security feature in that phone and cannot be changed. I wonder if that is the case with the P10 plus?
Anyone else run into this or have a fix? Thanks all!
PS: not interested in rooting.
follow-up
From a thread in another forum, this appears to be an android auto/huawei compatibility issue that they're working on. A recent update seems to have fixed an sms issue so now text messages are read back to me. Regarding the phone notifications, I've mounted the phone using a magnetic vent mount close the steering wheel so I can end calls easily from the phone itself. I'm going to call that "good enough"
It seems to working now with B171, at least in my A6 from 2015 with the latest MMI-Update.

All of a sudden mine is working too, though still on B170. The only thing that changed that I can recall is I updated Google Messages and was prompted whether I wanted to make it my default messaging app to which I agreed.
Hi all,
I have just installed a Hizpo MTCD PX3 2gb that came with Android 7.1.2. I was having some issues trying to add a google account and had the brilliant idea to do a factory reset. When it was back the Bluetooth app was gone. Does anyone know how to get it back?
Thanks!
I'm surprised a factory reset would do that - suggests its not baked in to the rom?
This guy over at another forum got an update from them to solve some bt issues - maybe he will share it with you or you can get something similar from hizpo http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=120529&page=6
Sorry I can't be much help (still researching before I but one). Was BT calling working well before the reset? Questionable Bluetooth quality is something scaring me off these head units generally.
Hi, that's very helful already! Thanks!
I'll try to contact him and get the update from him.
Cheers!

Good luck - Hope you have a win! I'll be keen to hear how you find the unit. I'm tempted to pick one up.
Hi,
I contacted Hizpo through ebay and they replied immediately with a link to the firmware and instructions. In case anyone needs, here is what they sent:
Sorry for the trouble, please try the following steps:
www.hizpo.com/Product/CS_Files/new4_px3_7.1_201700705.7z
Unzip the update and copy it into your U disk—Insert your U disk into the stereo—Setting—— About the device—Update—Install—The stereo will update automatically
Please restart the stereo after update successful, it needs 2-3 minutes, which is normal.
Keep the stereo is energized state, or the stereo will not power on.

have you tried? is it working?
Yes, everything is fine now.
(I upgraded to the version I found in this topic)
I have some problems with Bluetooth. it stops working. He may be working for a week and suddenly he stops working. To work I have to reset or even restore.
With the previous version the same happened.
Is there a newer update? Is there any fix?
Help please

Will this update fix a hizpo that’s stuck in a boot loop? I’ve tried contacting hizpo and so far no response. Mine is supposed to have 7.0.1 on it.

my boot loop was caused from my power antenna wire on my nissan not being connected to the stereo harness. wierd but it was the cause i ended up getting a free radio due to this. cause i initially thought i received a defective unit so they told me to keep the first one and sent me a new one free. lol make sure your antenna blue wire i believe is connected.
