My bluetooth version in the phone is 2.0/2.0+EDR...the address is 00:17:83:d6:27:BA (I dont know if that helps)
Anyway, even with stock ROM or cooked ROM, I was never able to pair up my headset (which I've used regularly on my Samsung U600) to the Diamond. Every time it goes in to do a search, it comes out with "no device found". I don't know whether i have a bad Bluetooth firmware on my phone or whether I should get a new headset to pair it up with. Anyone know what could be the problem?
THanks.

Try to make your Diamond visible to other devices in Bluetooth settings (not active by default when you switch Bluetooth on)- it doesn't really make sense since the Diamond is doing the search and not the headset but it worked for me once when I couldn't find a headset. Hope this helps.
My phone wouldn't recognize my new Plantronics Discovery 925 headset. I tried pairing with a samsung headset too, it wouldn't recognize that either. But my phone recognizes other phones and works fine. Please help.

First and foremost, what ROM are you running? Are you on stock? Rooted? What modifications have you made, as those are the most likely culprits.
If the answer to all the above questions (save for stock) are no then I perhaps asking Plantronics or google about your phone/headset might work better as its likely that one or the other is defective.
I bought the phone only a week back and I have not made any changes to it. In fact my friend and I got our phones together. His phone is not recognizing the headset too. But my headset works fine with other phones of any make.
I have and use that specific headset on my Nexus S. And it works and pairs right away. Have you tried resetting the bluetooth before pairing?

Did you do anything particular before connecting your headset or did it just show up on the devices list?
Resetting the bluetooth as in switching on and off? Yes, I did.

Sorry, I dont understand. How do i set the headset to pairing mode? Please explain.
Folks, I finally managed to pair my headset with the phone. It is working fine now. Here is what I was doing wrong. I was trying to pair my device with the phone by just switching on the device and scanning for devices on my phone. When I try to scan, the device would not show up on the list.
This is because, the device was not in pairing mode. In the Plantronics Discovery 925, you need to switch off the device, power it on back by holding the power button and keep holding it until it flashes red and blue. This is when the device gets into pairing mode and it shows up on the phone's list. All this has to be done while the phone's bluetooth is ON and it is scanning for devices.
Hope this might help someone. My thanks to all those who cared to reply.
That's great you figured it out.
but here's for future reference:
Plantronics Discovery 925 (Pairing)
Pairing the Plantronics Discovery 925 to Your Cell Phone
1.Put your phone into pairing mode
This can usually be accomplished by going under settings in your menu and selecting Bluetooth. Follow the prompts to "find a new device." If you are having problems, refer to your phone's user guide.
2.Put your Discovery 925 into pairing mode
Start with your headset off. Press and hold the call button until the indicator flashes red and blue.
3.Select the headset in your phone's Bluetooth device menu and enter in universal key
Your phone may or may not ask you to enter in a key code. If it does, the code is always four zeros: 0000
4.You are paired up!
That is a rather ridiculous process, with my motorola I just have to flip the mic boom open and it works.

It's probably straightforward for some brands, not with others. My Jabra BT3030 still needs passcode entry for the initial pairing. After that, just turning it on pairs it with the unit.

Uh what? They're talking about the pairing process, you're talking about the connection process. Every bluetooth device every created in the history of mankind has to go through a pairing process. After the initial pairing, they all connect to each other automatically, your motorola is no different.
Hey gang,
Having a very strange issue. I was running 4.4.3 roms based on the stock rom for several months and then finally decided to try out some of the 5.0+ roms. I flashed the newest firmware (from 2/15) and was able to flash the roms without a problem, but then when I got in my car, the phone connected to my head unit via bluetooth, but it won't play sounds from music/YouTube. I looked under settings for bluetooth and it shows my device connected and paired but below the device is the message "(No Media)". When I click the gear for more settings it shows the Media box as checked. On my head unit, it also has the music symbol grayed out, as if to say it also knows that media is not working via bluetooth. All of the phone functions work fine through bluetooth as usual.
Thinking it might be the rom, I flashed back to the 4.4.3 rom I was using, but still get the same error. I have since:
Flashed a stock rom
Reflashed the 4.4.3 firmware
RUU'ed back to 4.4.3 stock
And I am still having the same error. At this point, I think I might have permanently messed up the bluetooth on my phone. There are very few settings in my head unit pertaining to bluetooth so I can't really troubleshoot that side. My friend was able to connect his phone to my car and play music via bluetooth so I think the problem is with my phone.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Try checking rarely used devices on Bluetooth menu. Sometimes non original earphones do not share device name.
Hey guys, Merry Christmas!
Out of the blue as I was riding my bike somewhere with GPS on and Bluetooth connected to my speaker everything was going fine.
I got where I supposed to be, the connection was fine and all.
When I wanted to return though, the Bluetooth speaker just wouldn't connect.
I tried turning both the speaker and the phone on and off but nothing changed.
Messed a bit with the developer settings but again nothing changed.
Tried to connect to a few more speakers I have and none connected.
My BFF has the same device and his device connects just fine to my speakers, my device just refuses.
It does *technincally* connect but it says Connected (no media), which is obviously useless in my case because the audio players from the phone's speakers and not the external ones.
For some weird reason, it does connect and play though to my car's Bluetooth. (Seat Ibiza 2020 MY not as it matters)
I changed a few roms and one weird thing I noticed when I was running POSP I think was in the dev options, Bluetooth mode, everything was greyed out besides default.
That's pretty weird if you ask me, I mean SBC AAC and some others *should* be available right?
So my concern is I'm facing a firmware/hardware issue, unfortunately, maybe some persist.img problem?
I ended up flashing with mi flash tool the latest miui 12 europe and global roms without luck, and now I'm in the middle of flashing the Chinese one just in case.
Has anything similar happened to you?
How did you fix it?
I cannot for the life of me find a solution and think about giving up and sending it for repair.
Well after trying lots of roms and whatnot (I even went back to MIUI 10, Android 9) I found out that If I try to connect with my speakers as the first device it won't connect, if I connect to my car or my Airdots and then try to connect to my speakers then it does indeed connect.
I cannot comprehend why this behaviour exists, but at least it is persistent if I don't reboot and I only need to this on the first pairing.
I guess problem solved...?
(it should be able to connect normally, but that workaround is good enough I guess)
