When scrolling through Recent Apps, the recent apps show up with a black/blue tint that has jelly like scrolling effect.
I tried to record this using the inbuilt screen recorder but that didn't capture the issue which confirms the problem is with the display.
I haven't tried amoled display's before, so I'm Not Sure if it's common with Amoled or just an issue with K20 Pro.
Here are some video links to the issue:

I see color banding issue on Xperia T's interface. Even when the brightness is maxed out, it is severely affected by the banding issue and there's also noticeable amount of noise while playing Video. My firmware ver. 9.1.a.1.141
I have included an image to test the banding issue. Just download the image and open it in full screen to your device.
I have noticed this too. Especially with certain colors on the Walkman app backgrounds. Guess theres nothing you can do about it. Its due to the quality of the lcd. Bit depth and all that. Also sometimes i notice backlight bleeding on the sides. Most of these issues could be overcome by an AMOLED screen I guess.
If you can find a way to enable "surface dithering" like in cyanogenmod this could help. Problem is it may be enabled already. Doesn't really bother me, who really cares about blacker blacks? as long as colours are good

In CM10 I noticed narrower bands of color gradient but in CM10.1 it is like the stock one.
But it's irritating that while playing video it tries to show more shadow detail and then the video becomes more noisier at high brightness. Also the sharpness of playback isn't good.
Has anyone else noticed issues with their P20 Pro screen? I'm seeing a subtle halo effect of white bleeding out of black text (usually when it's on a white background) which actually makes reading quite tough.
Also - is anyone else having issues with Google Photos? Mine stutters between changing images and the whole UX doesn't animate anywhere near as smoothly as it should.
This is a real shame for a brand new flagship to have such poor performance!

I don't see the issue myself and I read a lot of web articles.
As for the performance, it does stutter swiping through photos, but I believe this is due to the touchscreen lag which is fixed in a later update (apparently)
I am having the same issue. I saw this before on my Nexus 5. Maybe this isn't a failure? Maybe it can be corrected with some special display settings?
Hello,
I have been using P20 pro for over a month now and this is my first OLED panel phone. One thing I have noticed is that there is motion blur effect (blue sub-pixel) seen on display while scrolling (in dark theme mode mainly). Generally it is more visible at night while scrolling anything with dark content like wallpapers, images or any other dark mode enabled apps. Its kind of hard to explain but sometimes when we scroll, images appear as a faint ghost and it fades after fraction of a second. It was visible in older firmware 8.1.0.131 and even newer 8.1.0.140. Not sure if this is due to burn-in seen on OLED panels, does anyone else have observed this?
Appreciate any insight on this.
Thanks in advance
Ya... It's there... But will go if you increase the brightness

Hello All
Lately iam getting a black crush issue on my note 8(exynos) as shown in the image (downloaded from google but same issue)
Iam on the latest may update, tried the screen balance app which helped many pixel 2 users to rectify the same issue.
Kindly help.
Google - "black crush" screen issue refers to various dark shades displayed inaccurately. As a result, dark sections of videos or images come up with blocks or black, pixelated, or grainy, which is quite the opposite of what you'd expect from a top-notch, high-resolution display. The visuals rendered with this "black crush" issue are with significantly less detail, like a file that's lost most of its quality after heavy compression.
Simply put, rather than showing details, screens affected by this issue will show blocks of pixelated or black images in dark sections
I am runnng the latest update on my N950N and I don't have any black crush or color bleeding on my display...
I changed the versions from pie to oreo to custom roms, it still is with black crush and color banding.
Google says it is due to software color calibration, issue is it happens when iam below below ~40%battery in dark environment.
Screen balance app doesn't help , unfortunately.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanksss
Hi,
I have the same problem, do you solved? I think is a hardware problem.
Same issue on my SASSUNG NOTE 8 Exynos verison SM-N950F since March 2019 update...and stil not fixed...
Is your fixed now?
Hello everyone,so yesterday i recieved my new S20FE from my service provider. At first glance it seems to be a decent device. Anyway, while setting up the phone,i found that the "white balance" controls under the display settings, dont appear to be changing any colour aspects of my screen at all. No matter how i adjust the Red,Green and Blue control sliders, the the screen remains exactly the same.
Am i doing something wrong,or have i missed something? When compared to my Sony Xperia XZ2 which also has white balance controls that actually work,i may add. The Samsungs screen appears very dull and the whites are more of a cream tone than actual white, which frustrates me. Has anyone else had issues with the colour adjustment on their S20FE and is there a way to get my whites from cream to actual white?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
@Trace.Oneil I have the 5G snapdragon version and tested Vivid screen mode today. it was so garish that had to try adjusting the RGB values underneath. that too made ZERO DIFFERENCE on my phone.
I quickly went back to natural.
PS, I can't remember much about it but I've heard there's a 3rd screen mode that's hidden and can be activated with ADB. maybe look that up.

Thanks,i actually found that online and gave it a try. Although there are some differences between the modes, the RGB sliders still dont work with any of them so you cant fine-tune your screen to your preferred colour settings which is a total waste. Why even include it in the software build if it does'nt work.
I was wondering if the other modes take too much power and that's why they were hidden.
maybe that could apply to the slider ?

I doubt it would be a power issue. The mode to me that is the most intense with colour,is Vivid and that is not hidden. I think Samsung forgot about the RGB settings to be honest, and that is probably why they dont work.
