I'm switching from a Samsung Galaxy, and I miss the ability to copy multiple bits of text (or images) into the clipboard. The EMUI only supports pasting the last copied piece of text.

Hi there,
i searched the forum for a while now for a problem that every now and then pops up for me after reflashing. I'm searching for an automatic way to assign my own thumbnail graphics on the sense internet tab.
I use the manual way sometimes after flashing, but it is not satisfying me, because it takes lot of time to copy the files, rename my original files to the newly created ones and copy them back. So most of the time i don't use the icons...
Yes, i know that the pics have to be 512x512px PNG Files, and i also know that they are stored under Windows\Thumbnails .
I'm searching for where the information for the lookup of these pics (for example {2B1EE4E4-651F-D4DC-708B-DB1319CA381E}.png) is stored. I neither found it in the registry, nor in the filesystem as plain text. I copied the whole file system to my pc and did a in-file-search.
For me there are now to last possibilities where to find them:
Theyre stored as hex values in registry or in filesystem, so that a normal textsearch is useless or
theyre stored in a database file.
If someone has an idea which file it is or if theres another possibility i would be glad to hear it. It makes me crazy that we can change EVERYTHING on our wm-devices since years, but something like the bookmark icons (whch is significant for me) is so hard to find
best regards, Puckmeister
Are you looking for "Custom icons" or just a snapshot of the webpage? I know that if you save the favorite in opera 9/10 and open the favorite from inside opera (from the favorites menu) you will then see the screenshot of said favorite in sense.
Two questions for the Galaxy Note experts:
1.) Where are the S Note & S Memo templates stored?
2.) Is it possible to create own S Memo and S Note templates?
I've looked and there doesn't seem to be any obvious (and easy) way of adding new templates - which seems a really strange oversight by Samsung.
Hopefully someone will be able to say how it can be done simply and I'm a pillock!
it looks like...

Creating a S-Note template form a PDF file
When I imported pdf files, I just started Snotes, the app, not a new note, and under the menu picked import. Choose the pdf file but if you get the box that asks what to use to open it, ignore it, click on the screen with your pdf, make sure the file is selected and choose done up at the top. you'll magically go back to the snote screen with your pdf document showing. In order to save it, you'll have to at least make a mark and then can erase it so the save option will be available. When it's the blank you'd like to save to use each time, you can name it and save it as it is. Just be careful that whenever you open it to start a new blank, you need to rename the changed document so it doesn't overwrite your blank form. If it's helpful, when you're ready to save the 'template' open the menu and choose set as shortcut. That will give you the fresh template on your home screen. I put several running notes on my home screen that way and a blank 'template' - an Snote the way I like it set up. Just be careful not to overwrite it as I've accidently done a few times. Now I have extra blank copies.
On the Note 10.1 Samsung added the "import-template-function" with the firmware-update 4.1.1
Maybe they'll update the N7000 too.
(I'm posting this in the Questions Forum because i have not enough posts to either create a topic in the Development and Hacking Forum or reply to the registry hacks-thread.
But since it's also somehow a question I hope it's ok in here.)

Edit October 15th, 2013: With the GDR3-Update you get this feature built-in, so no more need to do this then!
Hi Folks,
while AlvinPhilemon found out a registry tweak to set custom sounds on the Samsung Ativ S (as explained in this post), it is not quite practical, since you can't see the sound in the list with the others, so you can't choose or switch them without always edit the registry.
I found another way to do this, and I think it's a bit more elegant (see attachment to have a look), although it only can change the sms, e-mail or mailbox sounds.
This is what you need:
1. Interop Unlock
2. Registry Editor (use SamWP8 Tools)
3. Full File System Access (use SamWP8 Tools)
4. Your Notification sound (I tried mp3-, wav- and wma-format, all worked)
This is how you do it:
1. On your PC, browse to your Phone\PROGRAMS\CommonFiles\Sounds\ and paste your new sound there.
2. To make it visible in your sounds selection list inside the Settings-app you have to create a registry entry: Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\OEM\Sounds\Notifications\ (This is the Samsung specific location for notifications; I tried the whole thing with the standard Microsoft sound location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Sounds\Notifications\ but it didn't work). In this registry location you can see a list of the the existing Samsung notification sounds ("Knock.wma", "On time.wma" and "Whistle.wma") and how their name is displayed in the Settings-app ("Knock", "On time" and "Whistle").
3. Create a new key and set the Value to the name of your soundfile (for example "Silvestro.mp3"), the Type to String and the Data to the name how you want it to be displayed. There might be an error notification after writing, but just read the key to check you wrote it correctly.
4. Done! Go to the Settings-app and choose the newly created sound as message, mailbox, or e-mail-sound!
What do you think of this solution? Of course it would be nice to pack this feature in an app that first lets you choose a soundfile from the Public or SD-Folder, then copies it, then creates a registry entry and then also is able to delete those things an put everything back to normal, but since I'm just starting with C# there's no way I can do this myself. Anybody interested in trying?
Thanks for your comments!
Very nice work, and good tutorial. It would, indeed, be good to get an app to automate this. You would need ID_CAP_SOUND_CONTROL (may require full capability unlock); this capability should enable both the requisite file system and registry access.
It's a shame that is not available by default like on every other smart and dumb phone in the world. This is one of WP many short comings that MS refuses to address.
Thanks
Nice tuturial, thanks.
I am a satisfied galaxy s4 owner. Before this phone i had the htc 8x. I liked wp8 a lot, but unfortunally some essential apps (for me) where still missing. Beside the very good os, i also like all the default sounds. Thats where my question comes in.
I'm looking for the complete set of Windows phone 8 notification sounds. Is it possible to copy them from a wp8 phone and post them here? I would like to have the windows sounds in my galaxy.
Great news!
With the GDR3-update comes the feature to set custom sounds for Messages/Mailbox/Reminder!
So this is no longer needed...
more easy way
I just renamed my ringtone the same as the existing tone in the map \PROGRAMS\CommonFiles\Sounds\.
Then I renamed the original sound (I have put "old" in front of the original tekst.)
Now I copied the rington in the map \PROGRAMS\CommonFiles\Sounds\.
Choose the ringtone on your phone, and it plays your ringtone.
I converted the mp3 ringtone to wma. I didn't try if it plays mp3.
The name of the original ringtones doesn't match the name in the phone, but you can play them first on your pc, to see witch one to replace.
I hope I'm not creating a new thread for something already out there, but I've been searching for days and have found no one with my exact same issue. I only have one /0 directory so having multiple isn't the issue. My problem is inside my /music folder which, is located in my internal SDCard directory, I have separate folders for each artist. For some reason I keep getting some of these folders duplicated. These folders have almost the same name as the original but replace at least one character with what I believe to be unicode (sometimes looks like an asian language symbol, other times is as simple as a diamond with a question mark in it). There is normally nothing in them, but in my music player I am seeing songs that are in the original folder duplicated with these same symbols and a 0:00 duration. I should mention that the original folders contained names with symbolic characters such as an 'e' with an accent such as what is used in the French or Spanish language. I have since changed these letters to normal English letters and deleted the duplicate folders, but if I leave the root browser (I'm rooted running Cyanogenmod 11) and go back in they are back. I've cleared media manage cache, google services and player cache, every cache I could think of and rebooted, same issue. Any thoughts? Any help is VERY much appreciated!
Hi... I've recently gone through most of the pictures I had on my SD card and placed them in folders that are appropriately named. I have a question with nested folders. As an example set up, I have created a folder called Animals. Inside the Dogs folder, there are several sub-folders named for the animals they represent - i.e. "Dogs", "Cats", "Birds", etc. In the file manager program they are arranged neatly with no problems. I open the stock gallery app that comes with the ROM I have on my Galaxy Note 4 and I have the option for FOLDER and TIME. When I choose FOLDER, it shows me all the folders I have created - all at one time. Is there a way to simply show the Animals folder, and then when I tap on that, I can then see the sub folders?? I placed pictures in sub folders for this reason so that I would not see a boat-load of folders on the initial screen, but I could narrow things down by folder, then sub-folder (and even, perhaps another layer of sub-folder?)? Am I missing a setting, or did I arrange things wrong, or is there another app that might show things this way, or is it just S.O.L. for what I'd like?
Thank you in advance for your answers and suggestions
