Now the big problem for me is: When connecting the "Flydigi wasp 2" device to ROG 2 then Airtrigger doesn't work, does anyone know to help me?
I'm issues where my wasp 2 doesn't work at all in calibration but on my pixel 2 it works fine.
Yeah any thing that uses an overlay isn't going to work. I'm assuming this is because they want only the kunai gamepad to work. I've tried flydigi, benbacool a d muja controllers. And none work on rog phone 2. But work fine with other devices.

Interesting, I wonder what app is causing this issue then. Because my issue is the key mapping part it just breaks down, even though a lot of the other button works besides the a button, so you can't go through the key mapping optimization.
So I can confirm the Wasp 2 does work but only in classic mode, which for some reason disables the airtriggers like the OP suggested. Like Cammarratta it seems airtriggers has problems with the other overlays and they conflict with one another.
How did you make it work?

Hi how did you do it I have rog phone II what settings have you changed?
I have tried a Flydigi wee2, wee2T and Apex. They all do NOT WORK on the ROG phone 2 while working fine on other phones including the ROG 1.
It just makes a mouse cursor appear and is calibrated wrong too of where it touches.
If we can figure out how to disable mouse mode for the ROG phone 2, then maybe we can get these to work.

They can only work in native based controller games that have support baked in aka classic/native mode. They do not work in games that will need mapping aka flashplay mode.
Open the flydigi app and sync your controller then press the button on the app near the connected controller to switch modes. This is the only way for now unfortunately. We need a fix from Flydigi or ASUS. if not we are **** out of luck and have to figure something out on our own.
I was using the wasp2 on my galaxy s9, after I finish playing I tried to connect the controller and it's not being connected through the flydigi app, the controller name has changed to mdr-1abt, no progress afterward
itz working or not
i will buy but i didn’t now itz working with asus rog 2 or not ?
The mapping window has disappeared from cod mobile on my ROG 2 any idea how to get it back?

Sorry to come here after so long, but I have the same problem, my bluetooth only appears MDR-1ABT.
Did you find a solution for that?

I am using the official Motorola otg cable and trying to map buttons in snesoid but while the directional buttons map normally when I try to map the regular face buttons it just says unknown. I have the same experience with a ps3 controller and a 360. Does anyone have insight on this?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App
I had a similar issue with two wiimotes with CCs attached. Some of the keys mapped as "unknown" but they did actually work ingame. Try mapping them all without worrying about the unknowns and see if it works.
Have exactely the same problem here, and keys dont work either exept for the direcional DPAD input. Any advice?

I'm experiencing the exact same situation, I've tried with a 360 controller, ps3 controller, and a plain logitech ps3 still usb controller that the system won't even recognize. main reason i got the otg cable was for this functionality, oh well. btw are you rooted? which method did you use to upgrade to 3.1? do you have the 3G xoom or wifi only?
Hey there,
Got a wifi.
Found out that the problem is just emulator specific, in the N64 and one PSX emulator the controller works as described.
When using fpse it works perfectly and I can play games without any problems: in the Settings it tells me the key number (192 for example) instead of unknown. Must be some kind of problem in the app-key handling I think.
Tried to change the keyboardlayout of the Controller, but I cant get it to work with the other emu's.
Regards
it's there any way to map de directional buttons (cross) and the analog stick in the same setting??? there are games that are unplayable without the directionals buttons and the analog stick at the same time for example brave fencer musashi(psx) or vagrant story and any game that use the dualshock control
Hello XDA Community!
I own a rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 i9305 (Android 4.4.4). When I connect my xbox 360 controller with an OTG cable, nothing happends. I've tried to connect it before I start a game and while in game. It only starts blinking and nothing else happends. I can connect a keyboard/mouse to my OTG cable and it works like a charm. Is this a common problem? Can I fix it somehow? I've tried to follow some post which led me to download .kl files which I put in /system/usr/keylayout but it didn't change anything. I really want this to work.
Is there noone with any knowledge about this problem?
Hello. Your phone may not be powerful enough like a tablet to be able to run Xbox 360 controller.
And most of the game will support this out of the box without configuring like on PC games.

Well, in this video you can see it works with the i9300, I have the i9305.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrZ-xnzYVLA
And I can see my controller show up and read button activity inside "USB/BT JoystickCenter GOLD".
Basicly I think the controller communicates with my phone, but my phone doesn't understand since it's missing something?
Yes it's funny as I also got the samr model as you. Did your controller flashed rapidly like mine did? Left/Right bumper should swipe to different pages and the d-pad should select the icons you work. This didn't work either.
Try a Bluetooth controller maybe?

Mine flashed rapidly (like they always do.) and my problem is also that my bumpers doesnt swipe pages or select any icons. I have no bluetooth controller and I can get x360 controller to work with apps, such as USB/BT Joystick Center GOLD. But I dont want that, I need "native support" or w/e you want to call it. I want it to work with limelight to play games.
Hello.
I watched many tutorials and videos about using ps3 on android but all I see is 2 options:
1. OTG cable
2. Root + Sixaxis enabler.
I do not want to root my s6edge+ and can't use otg cable while phone is connected to Gear Vr since it does not recognize it.
Is there any way to be able to use ps3 controller without root on Gear Vr?
Thanks
BR.
I might be wrong on this, but I think the PS3 controller needs root to manage the bluetooth driver. The PS4 controller would be the "no root wireless" option, but right now, i'm having issues getting it to work. I'm able to pair the controller, but not connect it. It seems that once it's paired, it defaults back to the PS4. I see this is a common problem with the new flagship Galaxy devices. It seems maybe a bluetooth problem.

Not only that, but you usually also need a custom rom/kernel in order for it to work (at least on my Note 4; stock rooted rom won't work with the PS3 controller).

I am also having this exact same issue. It's been driving me insane. I have bought an OTG cable and everything trying to get them working together but it also doesn't seem to work for me cabled.
Has anyone found any resolutions to this yet that anyone knows of? Really wanna play Demonhalls etc on Gear VR but can't get the controller to work! :'(
Yeah I can't get the ps3 to work either. I can pair the ps4 controller and it works for a little bit then it starts acting crazy. I bought an ASUS controller for $25 that works great except for not having a start button lol. Can't play anything in the arcade. I can't win.
I have a note 5 by the way.

Hi guys, so I was looking for some controllers for my Tencent Rog II because the Kunai is not out yet. I ended up buying Beboncool Saitake 7007x gamepad and Flydigi Wasp 2 gamepad. Both of these gamepads worked well with my Pocophone F1, but when I use them on ROG II, the phone see them as mouses not a controller, I can map my keys but when I press the buttons nothing happen. I also enabled USB Debugging before connect them. Does anyone have the same issue? I did googled a bit and someone said you need to have root, still, no straight answer.
Any advices will be much appreciated
Thank you for reading :fingers-crossed:
Won't work. I'm not sure if it has to do with Asus game genie but any 3rd party control that uses an overlay will not work. Unless I'm missing something in my tests it does not register at all.

Yes this is the solution - use classic setting after activation you may need to restart the gamepad as well - sometimes i have problems detecting the gamepad properly a phone restart will require by then also make sure your airtriggers are off so the program wont be confused this will cause issue on flydigi app.
Is there a way to switch to classic mode without having to wipe on ww?

Only the wasp 2 fit the ROG II even with a case on. The saitake sadly will not fit nor work
I using APEX flydigi and success play with key map. First you must select classic mode then use the dongle provide by flydigi, plug-in the dongle to the power adapter then connect the dongle to the asus rog phone 2. Finish setup using dongle, you can pull out the dongle from the phone and start to key map..
And this works 100%? Does classic mode disable air triggers? Me people say it's just a theme.

The ze620kl has no issue connecting with playstation 3 controller(dualshock 3 aka. ds3) through usb-c port(via otg) but when it comes to bluetooth connectivity, it recognized as playstation(r)3 controller but just won't get connected and even ask for pairing code which a gamepad is not able to enter, any solution for this issue?
rooted and tried sixaxis controller app but no luck...

Hi! Could you fix this? I've been trying a lot of things but no one works. The app sixaxis controller works on all my devices except for this one. Please, tell me if you know about some way to fix this. Thanks!!

which devices of you worked with sixaxis controller app?
I've managed to fix the ps button initialization, the led is constant now by pressing the ps button when plug in (previously need to initialize the ds3 1st by pressing ps button b4 plug in to make the led constant)
and fixed no vibration/force feedback issue on the ds3
Still in research for ways to solve bluetooth connectivity issue
Sixaxis controller worked for me on:
- Vontar X3 (TV Box) Android 9
- TM95 (TV Box) Android 8
- Asus Zenfone Zoom S ZE553KL Android 8
- Ulefone Be Touch 3
- Nubia Z17 Lite
Always with bluetooth. In Asus Zenfone 5 ZE620KL works with cable USB, without any app, but it drains my battery so fast. Today I'm going to try with new Android 10 OS update from ASUS. It's still a Beta, but with many improvements since they published it for the first time a couple of months ago. I,ll tell you when I get the results.
Which tests are you doing?

alright, i'll try to study those devices source code see if anything useful
but I'm neither developer nor programmer myself, it's not easy for me to study/understand how those codes work.
The bluetooth issue might not be solved as well because in my early study, it might needs to build whole android system from scratch
I'm going to install Android 10. Talk later. I hope it fix this bluetooth issue. By the way, I hope it also allows me to play with my Gamesir G3w. A wired gamepad that works on my wife's ZE553KL but not on my ZE620KL.

ok, the ds3 works via bluetooth with sixaxis controller app on your wife ze553kl
How about without the sixaxis controller? Did it work natively with bluetooth? Or is it just like ze620kl, can see in bluetooth but can't pair?
I need to figure out so i can walk down the correct path of codes searching
No, it can connect without the app. The gamepad appears in device list but it never connects. I have use pin 0000 and 1234. No one works. 0000 appears to be valid, but the connection fails.

alright, based on my early study now, the bluetooth isn't working with ds3 might be dued to the bluetooth stack android is using now --- bluedroid/fluoride, while sony codes for controller are based on bluez stack which is using in linux system and early android version <= 4.1/4.2(most related sources/documentations found are pointed to this issue)
Now things can be done might be:-
1. alter sony's codes to compliant with bluedroid standard (nothing can be found on the net accordingly atm since ps3 is considered as legacy device now, support for it is much much lesser) or-
2. implement bluez stack back to the android version we're using now(the last documentation related was back to android version 5.0) or-
3. need to find android devices that actually work natively with ds3, study their coding and make changes to ours accordingly.
Either ways is time consuming because no example/documentation can be found atm, further and deep studies are needed
As of android 10 for ze620kl is actually beta asop that still buggy and lost all asus experience atm, I don't want to touch that for now
