Hi all,
Yesterday i was so stupid to change the 'Customer version' setting under factory settings to 3. Don't know what it means but know that my unit is bricked. Only black screen. It has only soft touches, reset buttons doesn't work (and to complete the story the button broke from the pcb!). The only thing what i see is:
After a long powerless state:
The soft buttons light up and it looks like the unit boot. Takes arround 800mAh from the PSU. And even a short time the bluetooth comes up!. But then it falls back to arround 0.03mAh
If i put a sd or usb in there comes some android directory on the SD. Disk is alwas corrupted.
And hats it! Your help is alwaus welcome!

As I said my (Kaiser) HTC TyTN II is frozen at the Smart Mobility screen and restarts constantly. I have tried soft restart, hard restart and nothing changes. When it happened I had to soft reset my phone after my "Phone in the phone" stopped working proplerly. I hit the soft reset button and the it just freezes in Smart Mobility and then restarts, vibrates, freezes and etc.. Soft restet does not do anyting, hard reset goes through the process of cleaning and reseting and then nothing, the same problem keeps coming up. Does anyone have any ideas?
Can you come in the BOOT? So if you put a ROM on your extern storage (You need to rename the ROM in some kind of word, like by the Hermes, if you wanted to flash from your extern storage you needed to rename it to HERMING.nbh) and flash it with that..
Sounds promising - can you give more precise instructions for the Kaiser please?
How do you get to the bootloader?
What exactly do you name the .nbh file on the storage card to?
Sorry to jump in after so long time but there might be a very easy solution, yopur battery! Now i had se sam problem but mine didt want to even start to boot till you connect him on charger so i did a little experiment with an old trick: put a piece of paper between the battery and the edge of its dock so that battery can be well pressed and real tight in its dock. And it worked!!!!
I have the same probleam. But at first my phone dont charging when it turned on(only when it was turned off) and now when i try to turn it on it show me start display(Windows Mobile) and restarts,restarts,restars...

Hi all.
I'm a bit concerned. All of a sudden the ability of my phone to fix itself by hard reset (L+R buttons > Power on) is gone. This is quite bad.
I can still perform a hard reset via the control panel (erase all data).
Anyone know what's wrong? After the last hard reset the phone wasn't like how it was to begin with at all - or how it was after any of the other hard resets. All of the SE customisation had gone, and only the first 4 panels were available.
How come hard reset isn't a dead cert, and why in the world has the hardware shortcut gone?
Thanks
Mine refused to do a hard reset using the power button + silver buttons, it kept complaining that there was "no image file".
For some reason, using the soft reset button instead of the power button seemed to work on mine, after using the soft reset button behind the battery cover with the two silver buttons it did a proper hard reset and it worked with no problems.
i did 2 hard resets on mine now and i had weird behavior too.
On the first hard reset i couldnt hard reset by pressing the two silver buttons and the power button, just nothing happened. I then tried to press the silver buttons and inserted the stylus into the hole on the back which worked.
As i did a hard reset for the second time method 2 didnt work anymore, therefor method 1 suddenly worked...very weird
mine, couldnt hard reset it by preseing L & R and then soft reset...
i did it by clearing storage in setting!
It happen to me too...I solved it this way
Assign the default to each button left and right and then try it again..
PD: to hard reset trhee botton togheter and then relaese first the power button and wait until screen turn white....
Sorry for bad english
i need help!
mine did the reset ok, but when connected to sony ericsson's ipdate service keeps flashing 'no image file' and the update service says device not recognised. any ideas how i can fix it?
I have a slightly different problem. x1 to cleanse his memory, I was enabled very strange program that was the code'1234 'and when I did it my X1 phone simply shuts down. When I start up back, I appeared on a white screen with a blue stripe on top, and in the middle of the screen wee dagger. I've tried all the ways to retrieve the telephone to life but nothing is party, and the Internet also can not find anything. Please help.
@ thomsonss1: try a hard reset. That should work. Report back if it doesn't and we'll think of something else
Noooo it's not working.... I even can't to put a pin code or mobile code....
it suck......
I am also having the "No Image File!" issue. Has anyone fixed their phone or am I SOL?
I tried to make a call a few minutes ago and I couldn't hear any sound but screen said call was connected. I did a soft reset and now I'm getting this message "KAIS1*0 mfg. SPL-1.0.01pof CPLD-8" on the tri colored screen. I've been using my installed rom for over a year and a half now.
I'm in a situation now where I don't have time to research this issue so I'm sorry if this situation has been posted in the past. I apologize... Just wondering off hand if this or a similar issue has happened to anyone else in the past. If I have any options besides reflash. I'm on call for work and I'm going to have to pick up a new phone until I can do some research.
Many Thanks!
UPDATE: My phone will boot when plugged into the charger, if I unplug the phone and try to boot it will not. One other thing I noticed is that my speaker doesn't work now when unplugged, but does when I'm plugged in. Not sure where to go from here could it be my mini usb connector on the phone that's causing this?

Try a hard reset.
Hard Reset
- Press and hold both soft keys (The two inside the green and red phone ones)
- While holding softkeys, using a stylus, press and HOLD the soft reset button at the bottom of the phone
- Keep all three pressed until the keypad lights turn off and then flash
- Release the soft reset button while still pressing the soft keys
- Let go of the two soft keys once the message "This operation will delete all your personal data, to manufacturer default" appears on screen
- Finally, press the green call button to perform the hard reset, or press other key to cancel
this could be a battery issue and if it is you need to clean the contacts or get a new battery
I thought the same thing so I swapped batteries with my girlfriend who also has the same phone. My battery works in her phone and with hers in mine I still have the same issue. My battery compartment was very clean. I pried up my contacts a bit though. After opening my girlfriends phone up, hers is a different story. I stumbled upon this thread about stuck spl staying in bootloader mode. I wonder if this could be my issue? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=420683
Everything seems to match up with the issues I'm having...
Can anyone tell me what the screens says once you pressed R to reset it. Do I just have to turn it off / on or is further input required? It was running on batteries when I was resetting it - but with 100%.
Background:
Hey there! Since some days my Xperia X1 had a weird error. It worked very well until you opened the Keyboard - then the screen got messy and stayed black even if you closed the keyboard again. Getting it into "Standby" by pushing the Powerbutton for a sec and an 2nd time to "wake it up" everything was fine again (the screen was ok).
It stayed ok until you slide the Keyboard out - even if just a tiny bit, the screen got messy and once fully opened it got dark and stayed dark, until it was closed again and sent into Standby and Back...
Sending it into Standby while the Keyboard was open did not work, it hat to be closed...
I hoped that I could solve this error by a Hard Reset - so I did, but to press the "R" Button I had to use the Keyboard.
So the screen is black again and I don't know if it is still doing a Hard Reset or if it waits for further Input (once you have pressed "R" to reset).
You have a hardware problem, the flex cable is worn out and would have to be replaced.
But to answer your question you have to press space bar after the R.
Thanks! I its't even a year old and the thing broke?!?
Now that's great - I guess i have an Ebay item once it is returned!
So I will have to flash it to a custom firmware back blind but it think that
for flashing the device I have seen tutorials on youtube...
1.) I changed new rom
2.)It freezes when i was using youtube panel
3.)I turned off and when i turn on again wont load
4.) I tried hard reset , taking out the battery and memory card still wont load
5.) couldn't connect to pc
anyone know how to fix ?
well i had the same issue few moments ago. but now i get rid of it by using a very easy method.
- While the phone is off -hold down the front left and right buttons on the X1 and insert your stylus into the soft reset hole all at the same time.
- After i did this i was presented with a blue screen that told me to press R to reset and delete all my existing stuff. Then i had to callibrate the stylus and the same stuff the day you got it.
I tried that way too, after it said restart i pressed spacebar to restart and its still stuck at loading screen...
you press R... not space

R to hard reset, SPACE to restart.
If the phone has finished its hard reset (it's telling you to press SPACE) and you can't just remove the battery and turn the phone on. Maybe your keyboard is dirty and it's not reading the SPA.CEBAR presses
OT: hey poetry, where'd you been? did you sell your X1?
Sorry for my bad english , but it did restarted after pressing the spacebar but it still freezes for some reason and ive done like 5`6 hard reseting it ;/

yes I sold my X1. I wanted to try out the Nokia E90, and my X1 was in such a bad shape that I had to sell it before it lost value.
i know this is old post, but i have that problem now, any solution.
i changed my rom 20x till now but now stack on XPERIA logo, soft reset hard reset not working, any help....
solved. entered boot loader, three color screen, run task 29 utility 8-12 times, every time connected disconnected usb cable, removed inserted battery and then suddenly update progres was shown on phone. huh. flashing my X1 was easy till today. Good luck to all...
