Hi guys,
I am new to the forum and I was wondering if there has been any update on this story.
Is it possible to use the Note 8 as a second screen with pen pressure sensitivity working like on a Wacom Cintiq?
I couldn't find an App that would allow this so far.
There was this thread I am refering to:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1845710&page=5
Also someone did this but the app doesn't exist anymore:

So, for those of you who haven't seen the "Introducing Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" video Samsung recently posted to YouTube, then you should probably check it out here before reading onwards into this post. There are two features highlighted greatly within the video which really interest me, but unfortunately there is no reason frankly nor monetary backing for me to get a tablet (hence why I purchased an all-in-one device such as the Note), and these are the Learners' Hub and the split-screen multitasking shown. Can I download this hub and get it working on my Note and is there any way to split the screen to view multiple apps on my Note's screen at the same time?
Update
UPDATE: Found "Learning Hub" by Samsung on Samsung Apps. It hasn't got a great selection, but could prove useful for studying history (which I am doing) for example. Just want to split the screen for multitasking so that I can copy information from a web-page to S-Note easy and stuff like that. I saw a calculation somewhere that the Note's screen split in half landscape would give you two 3.6 inch screens, which is the same size as the iPhone's screen.
Does it only work on stock ICS?

You need the Samsung Apps store to download it, so probably. It is quite useful for a bit of learning - there are even a fair few free books.

I anticipate that if the demand is high enough, it's only a matter of time before a dev implements a port of these features to the galaxy note.
I tested a Samsung galaxy note 8 mini tablet nearly 1 year ago and was amazed at the snote app which instantly converted rough hand drawn shapes such as squares into an editable vector equivalent, and also converted handwriting into text on the fly with near 100% accuracy. It was a note takers dream
I just bought a galaxy note 4, and the snote app is missing both those features.
Why did Samsung cripple the note 4?
Without these 2 features, I find the spen useless for meeting note taking, the only reason I bought it.
Or am I missing something?
I found the handwriting keyboard and found the recognition rate appalling.

Same here and I'm not sure why it's so bad, I have a 2004 toshiba touchscreen pentium m "tablet" pc running xp that blows my note away with shorthand and cursive.
Maybe it only nails Korean perfectly
vector how to
Thanks for posting the "how to" for making a vector shape. I would never have guessed how to do it.
Unfortunately, this is not what I was looking for - the snote app "used to" do it on the fly, as you draw, which was FANTASTIC.
The way you outlined is slow, laborious, and un-initiative - i.e. useless for note taking.
My 2012 Note 10.1 has the on the fly shape recognition feature. I love that.
The version in this Note 4 isn't as good and I miss the Wolfram Alfa integration as well.

I miss that feature from Note 2 but I think only that is available in Note 4. Maybe someone with knowlege can extract S-note from Note 2 and possibly it could work with Note 4.

Hey there, guys
I am new to Android, just got the Note 5. My girlfriend has a Note 4 and her phone has something that would be specially for me as an Economics Grad student. Her SNote app has that formula match features, I mean, you handwrite it and then the app recognizes the correct expression. I tried to find it on my Note 5, actually that's a feature is kind of a dealbraker for me, and had no success. I went to a Samsung store and the folks out there told me that I just had to download it using Galaxy Apps. I tried hard but couldn't figure it out. Sorry for the noobie question, but where's this feature on my Note 5?
Thank you all!
Google playstore my script calculator or search for writing calculator.
Hey guys i dont personally own the VR as its my gfs device. She doesnt root her device so doesnt know much about xda but wanted me to ask you guys the following questions. Thanks kn advance!
1. Is there any devolopment for the VR in general?
2. Is the controller for it useful.if so Whats it good for?
3. Is there any motion sensor thingys like on htc vibe
4. Is there anyway to make it not as blurry? She has s7 edge and i have a note 5. ( we know about the focus slider ontop)
5. Is there music visulation apps? I found grooVR...but not sure if thats the only thing/how to use it while laying down.
Thanks guys
1:yes
2:yes and there are a few options other than samsungs
3:not yet but being worked on 3rd party
4:sometimes blurriness comes from either fog on lenses and/or oil on phone screen or lenses if you ever touched them. Be mindful these are optics and just like telescopes and microscopes you can potentially get sleeks from cleaning them improperly.
5:dont know, i dont use music apps in vr

The controller is mostly useful for games. There are some games that require one. You can find inexpensive controllers on Amazon that work well.

Is the Samsung Dex what they use to connect the Note 8 to PC?

Have you tried the VirtualTablet (S-Pen) app on play store. I believe this could almost cover your requirements.

No. It just connects to a monitor (but the only screen resolution DeX supports is 1920✕1080) to make it PC-like, but not an actual desktop OS.
Rather, DeX is what i classify as one of those Android-on-desktop implementations, like with RemixOS and EMUI Desktop.
However, DeX can be disabled by going to "Settings → Connections → More connection settings → HDMI mode"
I'm not sure where it is, but someone had a thread on doing this already. It wasn't quite as good as a Wacom tablet but it is doable.

frankly I do not have the note 8, if there was a way to use it as imput for pc, I was thinking about taking it
Have you tried unified remote? I can use the pen to write on my laptop screen using the S-pen and the Note8
