I don't need band 20 (virgin)
So I'm looking at the k20 pro as it will be cheaper than the mi 9t pr
Will Google pay work with Chinese k20 pro
Master works fine, but you would need Magisk and a bit of tweaking to get Visa working

Hello everyone, I'm from Colombia and for phones to work here, they need to be certified by some other countries’ agency like FCC or TENAA.
I’ve found the Mi 9T Pro documents at the FCC, but apparently that model will have different TAC codes, so that means K20 Pros would not be able to be covered by the 9T Pro’s certification.
Would anyone know where I can get the K20 Pro’s TENAA documentation?
Is the K20 Pro certified in other countries other than China where I could get the documentation?

The K20 Pro is only released in China and India. It will be released as the Mi 9T Pro everywhere else. You could try getting documentation from India but you may have the same problem. The Indian models are built in India and are not exactly the same. They have missing NFC hardware and they have slightly different LTE bands enabled, so you may find that any Indian certificates also don't exactly match the Chinese model.
Looking to get the k20 pro not the mi 9t pro as I'm on virgin and don't need band 20.
Also the mi9t pro is more expensive.
Will the Google pay work on the k20 pro
Looking to buy from Ali express

Have a look on the German Amazon site, it's a lot cheaper than elsewhere in Europe. They should deliver to the UK, or at least they used to, it's been a few years since I've ordered something from there.

If you go with AliExpress then look at this guide, the part on fixing gpay should be relevant if you then change the ROM. Even if you flash the official global ROM you won't be able to relock the bootloader, so this should still be relevant.

Cheers Robbo
I already have the mi9t standard I just want the sd855 for emulating purposes and the 4k 60fps
Hi, is it okay to choose k20 pro over mi 9t pro because i want to get 8/256? Although I'm gonna lose 1 band out of 6 here.

The global Mi 9T Pro (not the European version) will come with 8/256 GB. See this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/help/9t-pro-8-256-varient-t3964710
Some sellers are already selling the global version.
As for what's best, then it depends on what you'll be doing with it. If you intend to go with custom ROMs and can live without the missing LTE bands, then which version you go for won't make any real difference, but the Chinese K20 Pro will be the cheapest option at this time.
If you plan on sticking with stock MIUI then the global Mi 9T Pro will allow you to keep the bootloader locked, which will give you Widevine L1 and any banking/finance apps working without any issues.
Is it worth buying the K20 Pro?
I'm comfortable with custom ROM flashing procedures.
Or is it better to pay for. MI 9T Pro?
I hear, even the global versions are not easier to unlock and update with custom versions, so it might not worth the trouble of getting this one, and go for a Chinese K20 Pro.
Anyone can comment on some quality differences?
Anyone in Europe feels a lack of coverage due to the missing B20 LTE band?
Is this still a good budget decision or better wait and invest in a more mainstream device?
Would always recommend the 9T Pro officially from the EU.
It comes with everything working correct (NFC, band 20, WidevineL1), switching ad's off means really off and Global EU Rom is that good that no other Rom is required so you can leave it locked.
And warranty is under EU law!!
For a similar price you'd be best off getting the Mi 9T Pro, but if you wish to save some money you can make the K20 Pro almost identical asides from Band 20 support.
I personally have the 8GB/256GB K20 Pro running:
TWRP from mauronofrio
Xiaomu.eu firmware (last MIUI 10 with Android 10)
Magisk 19.3 (Magisk Hide on Google Play Services, Google Services Framework, Google Pay & my banking apps)
The Google Pay fix
that's your choice, i use to say that: everything comes with a cost and a price. I believe the money you save for getting k20 pro is paid for acquiring knowledge and working to make everything runs just fine... (I personally like this kind of stuff, like most of one here, but some people do not)...

It seems very hard to find an EU seller of MI 9T Pro.
Because there's no B20 support.
Do you know of seller that ships ?

10x, I too like messing with the phone. So I won't keep it locked anyhow.
Just wondering if it's worth to buy this toy... Or wait for another.

I used my phone to buy some stuff from the local supermarket just this afternoon, so the fixes I linked to above certainly work on my device.

The Mi 9T Pro does have Band 20 support. You can either buy it locally or use a price comparison site for imports like Kimovil.

I have the k20 pro and the band 20 is not an issue for me. I live in albania and use the 4g normally. To me it's a great phone. Beautiful display and performance. I have isntalled eu rom android 10 and gcam. Definitely would advise buying this one over mi9t pro.

I am from the UK too & managed to set it up correctly and re-assign my Natwest credit card to Google Pay on my device.
Sorry offtopic, but, 4g band 20 is the only available on uk?
So, I just bought a Mi 9T Pro a week ago. I've been saving and looking forward to this phone since it got released. The box cover, IMEI serial number for product verification on Xiaomi website and the setting 'about phone' itself confirms it is a legitimate Mi 9T Pro. However, because I linked my e-mail to Google by Find My Phone, it says otherwise, a K20 Pro instead. I was devastated and confronted the mobile store, they argued it can not be, if it were to be K20 Pro there would be no playstore, plus it even runs on Android 10.
Funny thing is, the latest update on my phone is and stays with MIUI 11.0. 3.0 similar to K20 alone. While the Mi 9T Pro latest update is V11.0.5. Does my current phone have to do with 'Asian region' compared to the actual Mi 9T Pro Global model?
There's so much wrong with this.
It is most likely a mi 9t pro, it's just Google doing Google things.
K20 pro has play services and play store is available to install on Xiaomi app store, it's just not installed by default. If your phone was a k20 pro it would be fairly obvious... Chinese language on by default...
What do you mean 'it even runs on Android 10?'
No. you have global version not eea version. Latest global is 11.0.3 and eea and China is at 11.0.5.
And what it on the back of the phone? Mi or Redmi? Btw I checked and Google Find my phone for me says it's "Mi 9T Pro"
This is weird. Like hoopsnake said, could just be google doing google things.
Global just got updated to 11.0.5, so you can wait a bit for it to reach your phone. Where did you buy if from anyway?
Mi 9t Pro and k20 pro are the same except for software. You can check if you have a mi 9t pro by looking at Netflix resolution, if it's 1080 then it's mi9
Sir, I have a k20 pro, k20 pro also has L1widevine support, it's just the case with indian variant which I have, maybe google is taking it as the india k20 pro, or you got an indian variant, it may not be the most popular opinion but indian variant is in fact the best one, you can check which rom you have, i can tell you all the details of my phone if you need to cross check anything
