Is it worth buying the K20 Pro?
I'm comfortable with custom ROM flashing procedures.
Or is it better to pay for. MI 9T Pro?
I hear, even the global versions are not easier to unlock and update with custom versions, so it might not worth the trouble of getting this one, and go for a Chinese K20 Pro.
Anyone can comment on some quality differences?
Anyone in Europe feels a lack of coverage due to the missing B20 LTE band?
Is this still a good budget decision or better wait and invest in a more mainstream device?
Would always recommend the 9T Pro officially from the EU.
It comes with everything working correct (NFC, band 20, WidevineL1), switching ad's off means really off and Global EU Rom is that good that no other Rom is required so you can leave it locked.
And warranty is under EU law!!
For a similar price you'd be best off getting the Mi 9T Pro, but if you wish to save some money you can make the K20 Pro almost identical asides from Band 20 support.
I personally have the 8GB/256GB K20 Pro running:
TWRP from mauronofrio
Xiaomu.eu firmware (last MIUI 10 with Android 10)
Magisk 19.3 (Magisk Hide on Google Play Services, Google Services Framework, Google Pay & my banking apps)
The Google Pay fix
that's your choice, i use to say that: everything comes with a cost and a price. I believe the money you save for getting k20 pro is paid for acquiring knowledge and working to make everything runs just fine... (I personally like this kind of stuff, like most of one here, but some people do not)...

It seems very hard to find an EU seller of MI 9T Pro.
Because there's no B20 support.
Do you know of seller that ships ?

10x, I too like messing with the phone. So I won't keep it locked anyhow.
Just wondering if it's worth to buy this toy... Or wait for another.

I used my phone to buy some stuff from the local supermarket just this afternoon, so the fixes I linked to above certainly work on my device.

The Mi 9T Pro does have Band 20 support. You can either buy it locally or use a price comparison site for imports like Kimovil.

I have the k20 pro and the band 20 is not an issue for me. I live in albania and use the 4g normally. To me it's a great phone. Beautiful display and performance. I have isntalled eu rom android 10 and gcam. Definitely would advise buying this one over mi9t pro.

Sorry offtopic, but, 4g band 20 is the only available on uk?

Good day Sir / Ma'am,
To those that can possible answer the question, as you all know, Mi 9T Pro and K20 Pro are technically the same except for the branding. Should the Mi 9T Pro becomes available, is there away someone can get the global rom work with the K20 pro? And what's the probability of the future Mi 9T Pro roms to work on the K20 pro (eg lineage os, rr, pixel experience etc)?
Just wait for Xiaomi EU forums to do roms for it

Hi. Do Xiaomi EU makes rom outside of MIUI components like stock based rom?
Hello. I don't know whether to buy the K20 pro or the 9T.
Do you think both these phones will receive many official AOSP roms?

Won't the Redmi k20 pro and the Redmi k20 get the same level of custom ROM support? From a developer's perspective, the only difference is the processor (SD855 VS SD730).

I am guessing processors SD855 and SD730 has different components. So I doubt that the same rom would work on both.

K20 and k20 pro totally different. More support will be on pro version i guess. 855 resources are easily available now. Pixel ROM CAF version maybe easy for devs to build

If I am not mistaking, the difficulty in developing custom ROMs does not lie in compatibility with Qualcomm processors. The sources of the Snapdragon processors of Qualcomm are published and available to the public.
As far as I can see there is no 9T pro, just rumours that it is the k20 pro but as only the k20 was announced in Europe yesterday
I don't believe there is s 9T pro at all

Thats not true. They only claimed in russia that there is a Mi 9T Pro but they did not know when it will be available (global marked).
If I purchase the one with Chinese ROM, will I be able to replace the ROM for the Global version? I'm so in love with the phone that I'm about to purchase the Chinese Version. The only thing that is preventing me to do so is the fear of not having the possibility to update the ROM later. Does anyone know if it will be possible? Thanks!
On Honor buy it says English and Chinese version with Google play pre installed,
Does that mean it is Global,I assume you could do all you need here with OTAs ,apps etc.

That's what they were saying initially, then roumers came of it being the 9T pro.
It is certainly a possibility it will be rebranded the Poco f2,
Either way, seems like we will be waiting a while for it
There has been reports in a few tech sites of a Geek Bench set of scores for an alleged Mi 9T Pro, that suggest it's a K20 Pro (it had the same motherboard name of raphael). Granted that could have been a fake, so it's certainly not real proof the Mi 9T Pro will arrive. https://www.mysmartprice.com/gear/x...geekbench-listing-confirms-rebranded-k20-pro/

Yes. But you can only change from Chinese to Global ROM once the bootloader is unlocked. You will have to wait 15 days to unlock the bootloader.
This comes with limited LTE bands, so check first that it covers the bands you'll need. Changing to the global ROM won't magically open up all global bands.

That's the part people aren't understanding. A lot of these sellers install a "global" ROM with multi-languages and Google Play Store, but they're not the actual official global version due to band restrictions. I live in the United States so pay attention to that. Here's my post from a few minutes ago about possible delays in the release of the official global version. https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/how-to/redmi-k20-pro-xiaomi-mi-9t-pro-global-t3939580
Hi,
I live in France and I'm looking for a k20 pro with the bands B20 and B28.
It seems that the Indians version of this phone is the one I need.
Do you know a way to buy the k20 pro in India with delivery in France?
Thank you for your help.

The Indian K20 Pro does NOT have either LTE band 20 or 28.
This is the official Indian website, scroll to the supported network bands.
https://mobile.mi.com/in/redmi-k20-pro/?RNType=product&product_id=redmi-k20-pro
Oh! I was thinking that I'll find those bands in this version ...
Only hope is an European release I guess...
Thank you for the tip
i think the difference between china and india version are the widevine L1 certification and the poco launcher as a stock launcher, also the package of india version is different
GApps, Google store and Google assistant are also available in the India version (I mean without touching anything)? Already included?
By the way, better go for the mi9t or the mimix 3?
Thank

mi mix 3 is 27 grams more heavy , doesn't have widevine L1 , also no headphone jack , 3200 mah , if you care about this thing , all the time Mi9T, 4000 battery, jack, widevine L1 , 730 is kind of snap 835 runs very good.
ah MI MIX 3 has OIS and better camera with gcam i think

Hi folks,
I'm interested in buying this phone. It looks like a good option.
However, I'm not quite sure that there is a global version. Anyone got this phone already outside of China and can approve that the AliExpress 'global' version actually works?
Thanks,
FM

No, there is no global version (with band 20) and it is very unlike that it will ever be. If you can live without band 20 you can buy the chinese version and flash Xiaomi.eu.
yesterday some aliexpress sellers have began to offer mi 9 lite, it's rumoured it will be cc9 global version
there's an antutu score for mi a3 pro matching the cc9
i hope they'll release it with android one
It's really a shame. It has NFC, and is a verified device for Google services, but it still can't run Google Pay with latest Google Services.

Mi 9 lite is the same one
I don't need band 20 (virgin)
So I'm looking at the k20 pro as it will be cheaper than the mi 9t pr
Will Google pay work with Chinese k20 pro
Master works fine, but you would need Magisk and a bit of tweaking to get Visa working
Looking to get the k20 pro not the mi 9t pro as I'm on virgin and don't need band 20.
Also the mi9t pro is more expensive.
Will the Google pay work on the k20 pro
Looking to buy from Ali express

Have a look on the German Amazon site, it's a lot cheaper than elsewhere in Europe. They should deliver to the UK, or at least they used to, it's been a few years since I've ordered something from there.
https://www.amazon.de/Xiaomi-Mi-9T-...o&qid=1566340354&s=gateway&sprefix=k20&sr=8-1
If you go with AliExpress then look at this guide, the part on fixing gpay should be relevant if you then change the ROM. Even if you flash the official global ROM you won't be able to relock the bootloader, so this should still be relevant.
