Hello,
As title says suddenly I can't hear anything through my car BT (Audi) or BT headphones. It was working fine till around a week ago.
I can hear media\music just fine (for example Spotify) in both headphones and car speakers.
Bluetooth is connected correctly as usual, but I can't hear people in calls and they can't hear me too.
In car I can normally start a call with steering wheel buttons, just I don't hear anything. If I change audio output on phone to speaker or phone I ear them, if I rechange to BT silent again.
I tried another phone in my car and it's working fine.
I tried my phone in another car and same problem occurs, so it's some setting in my phone (even if I don't remember changing anything since it was working).
I'm on stock OOS 9.0.5 + Magisk.
Things I've tried by googling A LOT of forums:
1) Resetting network\BT data from Settings>Reset
2) Clearing storage and cache for the Bluetooth system app
3) Manually deleting paired devices from both my car and my phone and re-add them.
4) Played with the BT audio codec\bitrate\version\etc options in developers menu without luck.
5) Tried disabling google now, ok google feature.
6) Tried disabling device discovery for Bluetooth.
Things I take as last chance: changing kernel, clean flash.
Any suggestions?

I have a Pioneer car stereo with built in Parrot bluetooth and media connection. I had this issue with my previous phone so it must be either an Android issue or problem with my car stereo bluetooth. Every time I connect bluetooth to the car stereo the phone enables media connectivity and I have to manually go in and turn it off again. Sometimes I have to turn it on and off again as it says it's connected even though it isn't (tick box is ticked but if I untick it it connects and I have to untick it again and OK it to verify). Also if I disconnect it then cycle through the sources on the car stereo as soon as I get to bluetooth it enables it again.
I don't want it on because I want to hear media audio through the phone speakers and phone calls through the car stereo.
Android 4.1.2 at present.

I think the answer lies in the question here,, Parrot Bluetooth Media Connection.
The stereo isn't 'smart' enough to determine that what is connecting to it is a Phone/MP3 and as such you wont be able to split the audio to have the phone play music and the Stereo take calls, it'll end up being one over the other.
One way around this would be to test with a completely different Bluetooth Headset to see if this allows music to be played on the Device and Calls to come through on the Headset,, failing that its going to have to be a potential dev jobby to split how the device sends its audio and to what specific device,,, if that lies with HTC and Android/Us or Pioneer/Parrot themselves,, might be worth asking whats the official standpoint on this with the Manufacturer and see if they are getting this same issue from multiple folks

I have the same problem with my HTC One across four different ROMs, two GE and two Sense.
It's NOT an issue with my car stereo (uConnect system) as it works flawlessly on my Nexus 7 and VZW Galaxy Nexus. I prefer to have media (music, Ingress etc...) play over the phone. Only thing I want to play over the uConnect is the actual phone. No matter how many times I unselect media in the bluetooth settings it selects it again.
I see this is an old thread, anyone have any ideas?
Nope. It does not always do it though. I found that if I leave bluetooth on it seems to be OK just as long as I don't switch through from aux to radio to CD and back to USB again on the Pioneer. If I use the automatic bluetooth app to save battery it connects but then connects with the media option enabled. Bummer.

I've just installed Bluetooth Auto Connect have to go run some errands in a little while, I'll let you know if it helps out managing profiles or not.
If it works let me know what settings you used as I don't understand all the options lol.
bluetooth problem
Hi developers: Thanks Team Venom for a great ROM. I have only one problem. Rom 2.7 no problem with Bluetooth in the car. 3.1 Installation of clean and dirty disables bluetooth. Ten seconds connected and then disconnected. Again, connects and disconnects. So it all over again. It is in version 3.6 ... any change BT software? You can install the software separately BT? Or any other advice? Thank you very much
edit: I deleted the original settings in the car. Again the connection and still the same problem.
This only happens in my car but...
When I start the car, my handset connects.b, but the music will not play through the car. To get it to work, I have to wait until the car connects with my phone, then turn BT off and on again. Every time. Anyone else suffering from this.
My Bluetooth is working with my car. This is normal procedure that it will take a couple second to sync phone with car system. So even after a 1 minute even you load up Pandora radio or anything, it wont play on your car's stereo ? do you get any error message on phone ? The only thing which i noticed is missing artist and song title tag on my car's screen. I think it is caused by Pandora radio, cause when I restart Pandora, it will work fine. Try to reset your phone or 1st delete Bluetooth car sync profile and re-sync again. Good luck.
Do you have a Bluetooth headset connected when you connect to your car?
If so, go in to your BT device profiles on the phone, open up your headset, and disable media audio.

No message on the phone. I play though Google Music and on the phone it looks like it is playing as normal. I'm only using a simple BT device that conects through the aux port as Ford want a small fortune to supply the bluetooth adapter. I'll have a little play though, thanks for the advice.

No headset connected, nothing else via BT in range to connect to. I'll see if I can find anything else in the profiles though.
Maybe it's Google music. I will try to play music whatever it's store on your memory. I know it seems stupid but it's good to try it. I tried my nexus on my friend's car and no issues. He own Audi, I got Hyundai with navigation. Anyway there is not a lot settings regarding Bluetooth. Like I said before, might be worth to reset phone .
I have a similar issue and it is only with my car as well. It pairs up, the bluetooth audio controls on the stereo come up, but it doesn't play unless I hit play on the phone. After that, I can skip tracks, pause, etc. This happens about 90% of the time, to the point where it almost catches me off guard when it works like it is supposed to. This did not happen with my previous phone (HTC One M8) or any of the iPhone versions I had before it.
Hi all,
I was wondering if somebody could help me with my 3T.
I've noticed that when I use my bluetooth headset or when connected to the car, no sound is there when trying to make calls or receive calls. The call appears but when i answer no sound.
However, media audio works perfectly fine. Phone audio and media audio are both selected in the paired bluetooth settings.
I thought there must be something wrong with the rom I was using which was omni. I have reflashed OOS 5.0.1 but I have the same problem.
I started using Android auto in the car hoping call sound would come through as it is connected by usb. The same issue occurs. Media audio is fine. No call sound.
I have tried unpairing and pairing bluetooth devices to see if this works. Also uninstalled android auto and reinstalled.
I have tried a Galaxy S9 with android auto and the Bluetooth devices to see if the problem occurred on the S9 but everything worked perfectly.
Anyone come across this before?
Solution?

have you solved your problem? you have found a solution
Having the Same problem with my one since 5.0.8 try everything i.e changing rom going back to stock even older version of android but no luck.
I had no mic during the call with wireless bullets. I think it was solved it by changing bluetooth settings in degveloper options.
bluetooth audio mode to mono, codec - SBC and other bitrates and enabled absolute volume .
Or you just have low volume in the call, which can be increased only during the call
Purchased Xiaomi Note 9 (not pro or any other varient) which is running the MIUI 12 (12.0.3 stable global version). I immediately encountered an issue with the Bluetooth: I own a Sennheiser PXC 550 (original first version) headset. it connects and plays music and audio without issues until I try to make a call. when I try to call I get the following behavior: when the active noise cancelation is off' the call screen displays the audio source on the call screen as the Bluetooth but no sound or mic comes through. when the noise cancelation is set to active on the headset, the call screen shows the phone rapidly switching between audio sources from the speaker back to the headset. sometimes something goes wrong and the headset stops playing audio after the call and won't play youtube videos until I turn off the headset. I suspect its a software issue. maybe has something to do with how the phone connects to the headset mic or interacts with it. the headset is working with my older Mi Mix 2, Mi 9 (running MIUI 12.0.2), other phones, and devices including smart TVs, etc. other headsets do work.
Things I tried: enabling developer options and changing
1) A2DP to off
2) changing the AVRCP settings
3) rebooting
4) updating the firmware from 11 to 12 (automatically)
5) factory reset
6) Bluetooth cash wipe
7) connection data wipe and reset
8) other call apps
9) changing other Bluetooth settings like codecs etc
10) the problem still excited before the update from MIUI 11 to 12
11) I did make sure that in Bluetooth settings the options to control calls and media were turned on and all permissions granted.
Note, the phone wont allow to turn off A2DP hardware acceleration. the slider jumps back to on and prompts a restart.
talking to Xiaomi support didn't solve the issue. sometimes the headset loses media controls like forword' pause etc.
any ideashow to solve the issue?
Does it works with another Bluetooth Headphones?

unfortunately no, it seems it has something to do with the hardware. i have another set of headphones Jabra 65T and they do work. also the original pair works (PXC 550) but only for media controls and even then sometimes youtube won't respond. the only way I see ut of this is to change the phone or headphones.
After swapping from PixelOS (Android 12) to Pixel Extended (Android 13) I've had some hickups that I've fixed (Google Wallet didn't let me add cards, Instagram call audio didn't seem to be working amongst other bugs) however I can't fix the bluetooth audio problem for the life of me. I use Sony's WF-1000XM4 earbuds and ever since swapping to Pixel Extended I haven't been able to use them. Even though the headphones connect normally (first I hear the "bluetooth connected" audio queue then they are detected both in the Bluetooth settings and in Sony's Headphones app) and the sound output is set to them, the phone either plays the sound through the speakers or doesn't play any sound at all. This problem happens with all audio (Youtube, Spotify, downloaded music and Tidal) and I've tried everything I can (resetting Bluetooth settings, resetting and uninstalling the Headphones app, resetting the headphones back to factory settings, clearing cache and dalvik cache from the recovery mode) and thus far the problem persists with my headphones (haven't gotten the chance to try any other bluetooth headphones but cabled headphones work normally. Has anyone experienced this problem anywhere else or knows a fix?
Found the fix:
1) Go through the Headphones app and reinitialize the headphones to factory settings (this will completely remove it from paired devices)
2) Uninstall the Headphones app
3) Reboot to Recovery Mode and wipe Dalvik Cache and Cache
4) Reboot to System
5) Set the WF-1000XM4s to pairing mode and then pair (ignore the popup that comes out if you haven't set them to pairing mode)
6) Go to the settings and pair with the WF-1000XM4s there
7) Play some audio to verify it works
8) If audio plays normally install the Headphones app
From my understanding Pixel OS' popup comes out as soon as Bluetooth detects the device and because the earbuds aren't set to pairing mode it can screw things up with Android (that's why it detected the earbuds and connected to them normally but didn't play any audio).
