Questions re the docking station - Nubia Red Magic 3 Questions & Answers

Hi all
I've had the magic 3 for a few weeks now and am loving it.
One thing I wonder is if I should get the docking station. When if using an ethernet with the docking station will this help with screen mirroring/casting to my TV which is also connected via ethernet to my router?
Over wifi it can sometimes be a bit laggy so wondered if this would help.
Also if it's connected via ethernet I guess I should also be able to access files on my phone via my TV also?
Many thanks
Jamie

[Q] USB Tethering Xbox Live??

Stupidly i left my xbox live wireless adapter at university over Christmas. Is there anyway to plug the usb from my phone into the xbox and usb tether xbox live??
or wireless ???? please help
Late reply but only just saw this one. Your XBOX will not and will never have the necessary USB drivers to identify the device plugged in, and therefore wired tether will nto work.
Use s crossover cable from your laptops ethernet jack to your xbox and share yours pc's connection
you should be able to tether via wifi using mobile ap in the wireless settings. i've used it on my ps3 many times. is worth noting the sgs will run very hot & unles you have really good reception you'll get lag.

samsung optical smarthub

i bought the samsung optical smarthub http://samsung-odd.com/eng/
Most people wont need an old fashioned portable dvd read write drive. But i bought this so that i dont need to rip my dvds to play them in the car for my child and dvds are pretty cheap anyway now compared to rental downloads which cost as much as buying the dvd.
This device can wirelessly act as a dvd read or write drive for android or ios devices or laptop or wired to a laptop. When wired to a laptop it acts like an internal drive and network features wont be there. From your android or ios device you can read or write to dvd / cd drive and also to attached flash disk or hard disk. It comes with a home charger but the device is portable enough to take on holidays to use as travel router in hotel rooms which may only gine internet access via ethernet port and this device has an internet port and can act as wireless access point. Multiple devices can access same dvd or cd or simultaeneously access dvd and flash drive. You can also wirelessly connect to DLNA or uPnP devices via this device so any content on it can be played on DLNA TVs for streaming videos. ALso can be plugged into usb ports or TVs to directly play dvds unlike other dvd drives but i havent checked the last feature.
I am thinking of setting this up in my car as a NAS device so that my child can access dvds etc wirelessly or other video files from usb sticks. But the device does not come with car charger. I am looking for a car charger for this, it needs 5volt 4amps via wall charger so will need a similar car charger which is hard to find as its 4amps. If anyone finds a similar car charger please let me know, any help in this regard is much appreciated.
I contacted amazon seller about car charger and he said to RMA the device! I was just looking for pointers for a car charger as i still like the device. Gooled for the charger but just seem to be getting junk instead of 5volt 4amp car chargers. The device comes with a usb cable with double usb ends which i plugged into two 2.1amp car chargers but didnt seem to work by charging via usb port, so will need to look for the car charger 5volts 4amps to charge via the regular charging port.

Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter

Hi there
I did a couple searches and found nothing in Atrix HD thread regarding this. So I'd like to ask if anyone has tried the Microsoft Wireless display adapter on this phone and how good/bad is it.
That is a dongle that plugs to your TV and that lets you mirror your phone screen using miracast protocol (through wi-fi direct I believe). Apparently, unlike Chromecast, you don't have to have compatible streaming apps and just use it as if you had the hdmi plugged into the tv.
Anyhow, any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks

Connect chromecast through ethernet?

Hi all, my wifi connection is very bad. Is it possible to connect the chromecast with an ethernet cable?

Actually, yes you can! I just got my otg adapter today and it works perfectly. 100mbits ethernet is much better than my flaky 2.4ghz 54gbit connection. I have a lot of wifi ap's in my neighborhood, so there's a lot of interference.
Look over here for the parts/guide:
productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chromecast/xo_NDh5CZA8 :highfive:
Product USB VID/PID Link
Linksys USB300M
Linksys USB3GIG
Apple (A1227)
BobjGear USB to RJ45
D-Link DUB-E100 0b95:7720
Could you argue how you use such adapter? You mean that plugging it on a Chromecast (using the necessary adapters) it just works?

Actually I guess only using another WiFi Access Point which you would bridge to the current WiFi...or you may consider a Wireless Repeater/Extender with all the side effects.

If you follow the URL he provided you will see it requires a Powered OTG cable to supply power and plug in the USB to Ethernet adapter.
And I probably would be sure to buy only one of those adapters that are listed as others may not be recognized by the device correctly.

Thanks right, it just works.
To make sure it's only using the hardwire, I enabled a mac filter list on my wifi ap and blocked the chromecast's wireless mac address.
has same questions as yours, but now it already being solved.
It appears that the CC can connect via wired ethernet quite easily. A post today on the Australian Whilpool forum describes how it's done. Please see http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2418159&#bottom

A lot cheaper than the adapter Google is selling. Also, you'll only have to buy a Y USB cable other than the USB to Ethernet adapter.

Here in Canada I can't acquire the official Google adapter for less than $50. Fortunately it turns out I already have a Linksys USB3GIG so I'm ordering the Y-cable from Amazon.ca. Decided to splurge on an $8 one that will ship in two days instead of the $3 that ships from Asia.
Very interesting thing ... I have a zone in the house with an old-ish TV and very very low WiFi ... I will try to Ethernet connection myself ... Thank you for the news I had no idea .

So I ended up ordering this AFUNTA cable:
http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00EAM8A5G?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00
It was CDN$8.97 compared to the Importer520 cable at CDN$2.31. But for a price difference cheaper than a sandwich, I was able to get two-day shipping instead of waiting weeks for it to ship from Hong Kong. Totally worth it because my apartment has such bad wi-fi interference that I wanted it solved immediately.
Combined it with my existing Linksys USB3GIG and it worked. Like magic. Once the Ethernet connection is established you'll notice the wi-fi network name no longer appears on the start screen.
I had a difficult time setting up my Chromecast Audio via wifi. Determined it didn't play well with my TP-Link AV500 power line extender. Bought the Chromecast Ethernet adapter and plugged it into the TP-Link Ethernet port. Now it's "set and forget ". Works great.

JVC Car Radio with S4A mhl

I'm trying to build my own set up out of stuff I happen to have laying around. My car radio is a JVC KW-V30BT that is MHL compatible and I have a s4 active (i537). So far I installed a nice launcher on the phone that gives me a digital speedo and navigation and music... With the JVC Smartphone Control app I don't have to touch the phone at all, I just leave the phone hooked up in the car and control the phone with the touchscreen on the radio. But after getting all that figured out I kinda have another idea.. Is there a way to mirror/cast another device to my s4 while it's hooked up with the mhl cable? When I try it says disconnect mhl cable first. There has to be a way... Any help would be appreciated! S4A has rooted OC7 and I use my daily phone (CAT S60) as a wifi hotspot for data connection. So I thought maybe I could use Allcast or something but it won't let me while it's hooked up with the MHL cable. Does anyone know if this is a hardware or software limitation?
