did you solved ?
I faced the same issue on my Mi8 few days ago when I relocked the bootloader after flashing Global ROM. The phone got bricked. What i simply did was to put the phone in Fastboot and once again Unlock the bootloader using official Xiaomi Unlock tool. It was unlocked immediately and phone booted normally.

Look like there´s a patched fastboot to force EDL boot
Was tested on Redmi Note 3, don´t know if could work on Mi8, but it´s an option.
I come in via test point.

The problem with test point is the fact that you have to open your cellphone!
Read this with google translate.

they are looking for modified fastboot flash files to avoid edl authentication. Until now testpoint and edl deep cable not work
The device can be in edl mode but it needs authority from xiaomi to start flashing

for me it didn't work. I am waiting for 10 days with 2 different accounts and noone activated any of my account to try the flash for my hard bricked devices (2 of them).
I send email and the official service of xiaomi told me to send them to the shop that i bought them.
I also need , as too many of xiaomi devices users, an EDL auth account because of hard bricked mi 8....
I really wish that developpers and even hackers will find a way to get around this EDL auth. (maybe in redirecting to false xiaomi serv (emulation) or via a modified fastboot image)...
Let us know iif something is moving !

Nope.
So far from my researched through forums, the only way is getting authorised Mi Account with Mi Flash Tool.
And I did not get the EDL authorisation...
It's simple. DO NOT RELOCK BOOTLOADER. Just unlock it and keep it that way.

Xiaomi should show customer oriented policies.
If Xiaomi is not able to give priority to its customer and their complaints related Mi products then it is hard to buy Mi Products.
Good Looking products and Good performance is OK but Xiaomi should show customer oriented policies where customers are treated as a vital part.
Six month ago i purchased Redmi Note 5 Pro now Its bricked and Xiaomi is not able to give prompt solution.Even i ask them that Mi PC suit is not working with latest Mi mobiles but still did not received solution.
Many times information available on Forum is correct than the information available from customer care of Xiaomi.
Xiaomi Customer care just play with standard format Emails.
I have purchased Xiaomi Note 3,4 and now 5 then Headphones and Power Bank.
I used to like their products but as their service is so Bad. Im feeling that i have invested in Wrong Company and Wrong Product.
It bricks also if you do a full recovey with TWRP. After an unsuccessful installation for example. Thats what I did. Now my few day old phone is a brick. Received the same answer from global support. I have to wait for the approving of my account. This was not only my first but also my last Xiaomi phone! Better stay with One Plus.

Hi all,
After MIUI 12 update which was horrible imo (performances mostly). I decided install back miui 11 with lastest MIUI 11 recovery ZIP. I downloaded it on my phone, I went into setting and selected the package. The phone accepted to install, it just warn me that not wiping data could cause problems. I ignored that because I thought I could get back to recovery to wipe data if the phone didn't boot.
But I didn't know all the antirollback security, and why would I? the phone accepted the zip I wanted to install, it's a locked phone (bootloader).
But now the phone is bricked and says something is damaged. I don't have access to recovery. Just fastboot, which I cannot use since bootloader is locked (since when we can't fastboot flash stock signed images with fastboot when bootloader is locked? I thought we could)
I tried about everything, to flash with xiaomi flash tool, but there is no MIUI 12 fastboot images for now.
I tried many times unlocking the bootloader but there is an error in chinese that doesn't mean really anything after translation, or google research. It checks my account it all seems good, my account has security check done then goes to 100 percent and show an error.
So I can't do anything, I contacted xiaomi for warranty but I have to send the phone for maybe weeks for them to repare it.
I suck that xiaomi is preventing me to fix my own phone, I have the knowlege and the tools to do it. It's so stupid.

Your only other option is to EDL flash the phone yourself, with the paid for help from someone with a Xiaomi authorised account.
This requires you to open up the back of the phone to access the test point pins near the battery. Then using the pins to put the phone in EDL mode. You will then need to allow someone with an authorised account to remotely connect to your PC, so that they can flash your phone with their authorised account. The price varies, but I've heard lately it's around US $30-40.
There's a few guides on these forums on how to do all this. However, XDA won't allow advertising of paid services, so XDA mods have been deleting all posts containing the contact details of people who can actually flash the phone. To get the contact details, find recent posts from users that have successfully done this and PM them, to ask for the contact details of the person they used.
thank you for taking the time to reply. But after a day of trying everything I could I decided to send back the phone. It's on is way to amazon, they either gonna be able to fix it or send me a new one. I don't care at this point.
I just don't understand why I was unable to unlock bootloader.
And why would my phone accept to flash a zip from a fonctionning system that would destroy it. What amaze me the most is that MIUI didn't wan't to flash global MIUI zip of MIUI 12 but was ok with flashing from MIUI 12 to MIUI 11 knowing all that antirollback security. Mind blown!

Xiaomi software has no real quality control, you can brick the device by changing dpi in the settings
Hi All,
I received an update notification yesterday on my China Market device with Global ROM and I immediately downloaded the update to MIUI13. I had 60% battery when the download finished and after downloading it did an app optimization. After that, I hit the reboot button with 58% battery. The device turned off and since then the device is literally not showing any sign of life. it doesn't charge or show up in the ADB devices list. My MBP doesn't recognize USB in the devices list. What is the best option I have? From threads, it doesn't sound like a brick or EDL mode to me but should I still contact the EDL guy?
Just an update. I was using Macbook to test if the device is alive. MacBook Pro doesn't show any updates when you connect a new device. I plugged USB into a Windows machine installed on my Bootcamp, Windows recognized the device as Qualcomm 9008. Which is effectively in EDL mode. I have no idea how the device got into that mode but my assumption is that I had TWRP installed with BL open and when going from Android 11 to Android 12 via MIUI13, something called anti-rollback protection which was implemented by Xiaomi put the phone into EDL mode. Luckily, I am in the UK and got in touch with Xiaomi after sales, they agreed to repair it because the issue was caused by a software update.
Lesson Learned: Never update your phone via OTA to a newer android version without taking a proper backup. A really bad experience with Xiaomi. it cost me one day to try to fix and will be costing me some time to install everything back after the repair. I am seriously thinking to buy an iPhone now.

I dont think its about anti-rollback function
That function only affect when u try to flash from higher miui version back to lower version. It will not allow u to do that
In your case, it 's all about xiaomi software problem :| and it is unacceptable problem

Well, finally I got in touch with the EDL guy and he fixed it smoothly. I literally had to go through a lot of documents and websites to understand the problem but he fixed it in 10 minutes. I think he is using some sort of cracked miFlashTool where he interferes with the communication between the phone and Xiaomi servers and bypasses authorization issues. I think many people are having problems at that point when following the EDL operation explained on the internet. Anyways, fixed it fairly easily and cheaply.

If you can get to fastboot, you can flash the original stock ROM. Plenty of instructions here and on the Xiaomi EU forums. You only need edl if you cannot get to fastboot.

You cannot flash anything in fastboot if bootloader is locked
In that case, you will need an edl flash to recover. But be careful that he doesn't leave it with an edl account permission or you won't be able to unlock without that edl account. Although I thought you could flash the original stock firmware that it came with back on with it locked.

Hello same here - I guess flashed wrong version from EEA instead of EU of Android 11 - all went good but then I allowed OTA updates and finally update to MUI13 I had a brick.
Now I am in contact with one EDL guy but not certain he is legit. Can you send me PM for your contact?
I'm planning on purchasing this phone but things like this one makes me worried. Is there a risk to update the eu stable firmwares from fastboot with bootloader unlocked?
If you know how to do it, no risk.
Hello dear community,
I have a problem with my Mi 11 Ultra, I been having a issue where my phone restarts randomly. (It can happen at any time, I can be on Youtube, Whatsapp, Maps, Idle, etc and the phone will suddenly flash a green screen and restart. Heavy use or light use, I cant detect a pattern .....)
I been having this Issue 2 month after I bought this phone with CHINA ROM MIUI 13
after that 2 months the restarts appeared.... (can´t remember if there was a System update or something but from April 2022 to May 2022 the phone was working excellent)
I have read that MIUI 13 in other POCO and Xiaomi Phones have the same behavior.. but cant find any solution for MI 11 ULTRA
What I have tried with no positive result:
(Wipe everything with TWRP, all the options, cache, data, interna, etc.)
Install STABLE MIUI EU ROM - Clean Install
Install Weekly MIUI EU ROM - Clean Install
Update Security app - Latest Version in APK Mirror
Delete Cache security app
Today I tried to install Global with MiFlash Tool but mi flash anti rollback check error occurred ;( (Don't know how to solve this...)
Do you think I have a defective Phone with bad Motherboard?
This is very frustrating and at this point I dont know if should buy a Xiaomi Phone again....
Any Help will be appreciated
Hi, i believe you are facing the issue when you are on wifi i am also facing same problem, when on mobile data there is no problem, can u confirm if its same? Wifi problem
in my case It happens on WiFi and mobile Data.
U can flash using platform tools to get rid of antiroll back, search for tutorial in YouTube, try miui 12.5
Global same issue..
Maybe a bad Motherboard?
So yesterday I Flashed OEM CN Rom, update with OTA and the problem persisted...
Then read about issues with restarts and Location Services in MIUI.
I Installed MIUI_EU Latest BETA ROM and deactivated location.
Right now I haven't experienced a single restart. Tomorrow I will activate location to see if the problem persists or maybe the update solved the problem.
Did anyone find a solution?
I bought mine on aliexpress and I have the same problem. It crashes and restarts numerous times a day.
Unlock bootloader and install global MIUI 13.0.4.
Very stable , no crashes/restarts.
the bootloader is unlocked. do i install the rom via fastboot or TWRP?
Both method should be fine .
If using TWRP , use format data option first, else system won't boot up.
If using Miflash use clean all but make sure don't use the lock option.

in the first 24 hours yes. it was working perfect.
Then it started to restart and crash.
without solution.
I am having the same issue....
Please look in the /root/data/vendor/ramdump folder.
I am having lots of ramdumps eating space.
So just received the phone yesterday after sending it for repair to Xiaomi All the way back to China... And this piece of trash phone still rebooting.... Never buying again a phone from this trash company... Also Giztop is so unprofessional because they didn't solved the issue ... They told me that the phone was on perfect condition and they weren't able to solve it. Thanks to them I also had to pay 250usd of taxes because they send it like if it was a new unit... Give yourself a favor and don't buy from Giztopz, they send defective phones.
Try disabling the RAM extension feature.
Or try a custom rom like EvolutionX or CrDroid.
