SM-T818A Root and TWRP - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm looking to root this tablet and install TWRP, but after some looking around I am unable to find any kind of working method to do this. Have I missed one or is it just not possible for this variant?
Edit: Rooted, thanks to this thread.

[Q] rooted but not?

It seems that I have root for...most...intents and purposes, but not when it come to things like xposed or next app so fix. Now I'm running 1.4.4.B.0.37 On Xperia Z1s. Rooted using flash tool, note... Does seem to freeze at the reboot part when it tries to install busybox so I manually install from marke. I had root for awhile then saw on xda that you could "proper" root by updating threw ota. Tried and failed multiple times. I have a screenshot of the error from xposed. Any help greatly appreciated.

Figured Out
Well, i never gave up and figured out the problem. Even though i had the newest version through OTA, it did me no good to revert back to last version since thats the version you have to "proper" root. Sooo, i downgraded...again...to stock (C6916_14.2.C.0.159_TMobile.ftf) then rooted and it worked. doing installs and checking as i type but so far viper4android and xposed are g2g. now to upgrade to next version (C6916_14.4.B.0.37_T-Mobile.ftf) for "proper" root. thanks and glad if i could help others with same problem. I think i will post a guide for z1s so others (seems to be alot of us) can have noob friendly guide. :highfive:
starting my guide...
I am starting my guide and wanted to know if there should be a specific area i should post it? Is the correct place here in the Q&A area? or in the Development area?

[Q] Best way to get TWRP onto phone

Hi there,
I have a rooted Z3C. I'm using Kingroot and have lollipop 5.0.2.
Could anybody suggest what would be the best way to get TWRP onto my phone, please.
Thank you

Use XZDR - or - if you have an unlocked bootloader just flash androplus kernel

Hi there , I see you rooted your Stock 5.0.2 via Kingroot. Did you manage to get root successfully ?
Also, were you able to get custom recovery / TWRP on it ? Please let us know

Hello iKevinShah.
I rooted the phone successfully with no problems using Kingroot.
I tried to install TWRP using the XZDR link which nzzane suggested but there is no option for installing it with Kingroot as the superuser software; only SuperUser & SuperSU, not Kingroot yet.
I made a comment in the forums about it but have received no response yet. I have not been able to install TWRP yet.
So instead, I opted to do my backups with Titanium Backup for now.
I Originally used Online Nandroid Backup app, which worked perfectly for me. I ditched it when I learned the developer had stopped updating it.

Another root question

I looked though the forums and saw a LOT of questions with a LOT of answers saying No out of luck. But, I just bought an AT&T unlocked phone using it in Barbados where I am with my carrier. It's on stock 4.4.2 yet towelroot says it's not supported.
I read about having to flash something with odin. and bringing it down a bit in order to obtain root. Can anyone link me to the thread that has the information relevant to this question?
Sorry if it's been asked a lot, but I just saw a LOT of 5.0 threads not 4.4.2 that are not supported.
Also not new to rooting I had a HTC Vivid and a Kindle Fire HDX rooted. So I have a bit of knowledge on the topic.

Go to the OP and download the "downgrade to nce.tar" flash with odin in the ap slot then root with towel root. Use either safestrap or Flashfire for custom recovery. You can not use twrp or cwm cause of the locked bootloader.
Edit: the link is for the galaxy s5 not the s5 active.
Excellent. Great find. Thanked. Fast reply also.
Me again. So I'm here trying to find a way to get to 5.0 and keep root. Read a thread somewhere on here about using flashfire. I understand it I think only thing is when I go to play store to get the flashfire root version...
It's not available in my country and I can't find the apk otherwise anywhere.
What options do I have?

Did you read and follow step 1 and 2 in the OP of the thread that i posted to you. If you follow those directions you will get Flashfire.
try here http://uploaded.net/file/zqe4yys4
Had a parsing package error with your file. I found the previous version and used it. Worked flawlessly.
I love the instructions on XDA. Devs are great.
Thanks again.
I guess this will be a good start for others like me.

Need quick help

Ok I'm sorry if this is stupid but this is my first root, I just got the acer iconia one 8 (B1-850). I was able to root it with kingoroot and replace their super user app with supersu but I can't seem to get a custom recovery installed that is comparable with it. Also I'm trying to install the xposed framework and I know I need the armv8 version but I don't know which one because I'm still using the stock rom, I would prefer to stick with stock but if I can't can someone link a good one?
Sorry as I said this is my first root and I'm hitting a dead end with my researching, or I just misunderstand a cow principal.

Root SM-T810 running Marshmallow 6.01?

I don't want to be lame and ask anyone to do my homework for me, but I am not finding a clear method here in these boards. There are of course methods out there on the web, but I don't exactly trust them when there isn't a clear method on XDA. I see the international models have all the goods, and I also see some interesting looking ROMS avail for the T810 which certainly gives the impression that root is out there.
Anyways, my goal is to get root and eventually get upgraded to Nougat. TWRP would be nice, but I did read in one of the threads that there is a bug with the t810 on 6.01 that causes a bootloop. I am running stock 6.01 currently with nothing. Anyone able/willing to assist?
I just updated from marshmallow my self, and what i did was install nougat normally, then install twrp using hemidall( or odin if your on windows), and then installed the super su zip in twrp to get root access.
