Can't connect to camera after rear camera module replacement. - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Questions & Answers

Hello everyone,
So a while ago my rear main camera (not the low light one) started to have focusing issues. It can't focus past 1m or so anymore.
So I ordered a new module online. Replaced it, but now I'm getting: "can't connect to camera" whenever I launch the camera.
--> sent it back and received another module, from China this time. --> same thing "can't connect to camera"...
when I put the original module I don't have this issue (except for blurry photo's).
So this seems to be a software issue? I cleared the cache of the app but nothing works...
any suggestion?
Regards,
Karel.

Camera not available

Hey guys,
Recently I had opened up my phone to replace a cracked screen. The screen and all other functions work properly but the rear camera seems to be giving an error message, stating, "camera not available".
I tried resetting the phone but this problem did not get solved. The front camera used to work before the reset but now even that is gone.
I even downloaded a third party app but back camera still not working( front camera is available in third party app.
What could have gone wrong. Could this have screwed up the software, if so what should I do to repair it?
Or have I possibly not connected the camera properly? Or have I totally damaged it some how?
Please help

Hi mate,
it could be a problem either with the hardware or with software. "camera not available" sounds like you didn´t connect the camera properly and the software could not find it.
Check it, if the camera is really connected.
Otherwise I personally think, it was not the best idea to reset the phone - a normal reboot should be enough.
As you tried a third party app, and the front camera worked, it must be a software problem. What I would do:
1) Check the connection of the camera, if it´s ok. -
2) Reflash the system and reboot it normally.
Good luck! :fingers-crossed:

Both cameras and Flash doesn't work after drop

Hello everyone, I'd like to say thanks for checking out my thread :good:
About a week ago, I dropped my phone into a ceramic floor with the back facing down. The drop sounded loud however the phone looks intact.
A few checks later, I can confirm the phone is OK, except for both cameras and the flash.
The back camera doesn't work (the Camera app just crashes, Diagnostic shows Camera Not Connected), the front camera doesn't display anything (Diagnostic shows completely black picture) and the flash does not turn on.
I'm currently sourcing parts for testing, but I'm wondering if it's possible that the software may be the cause as well?
Although the phone didn't restart (it still worked fine, minutes before it dropped) I wanted to make sure.
Also, as a double check, I tried OpenCamera and it shows black. There's no "switch camera" option so I think it's showing the front camera.
Once again, thank you for checking my thread
Your motherboard is toast. I have a Z2 with water damage. At first it seemed like the camera module got damaged, but on closer inspection, it has the same problem as your Z3+, all things camera related stopped working. There's no easy fix, you either re-ball whatever chips got loose or replace the motherboard.
Maybe you need to replace only the camera, because I had approximately same problem
I had the same problem, it was enough to replace the camera module for me.
hi I know this is old thread but I just have the same problem, have you fix this?
replace the back camera will solve this problem or must replace both front and back camera?

X526 front camera is not always working

Hey there, I got this weird issue regarding x526 front camera as it's not always working. After pressing button to switch to the front camera the camera app will freeze for some time and then will display info "cannot connect to the camera". The only way to fix it is to clean dalvik / cache, but its only temporary solution.
I have tried various ROMs from 6.0 to 9.0 and different camera apps, but in all these ROMs either front camera won't work from the start or will stop working after brief usage.
Any ideas how to fix this issue? Any help will be appreciated.
Dirt in front camera
A little update to my first post. I have noticed A lot of dust in the front camera lenses. It looks like someone was trying (unsuccessfully) to fix that camera, probably from the store. I have bought this phone from Bangood. Was anyone of you in a similar position as me? I contacted Bangood and told them I want them to resend a fully working phone. Still waiting for their reply.

Mi A2 changed camera module - Camera error, cannot connect to camera

Hey
So I had problems with my camera not focusing when trying to take pictures from very close distances (small figures within 10-15 cms), it was all blurry - I tried different options and decided that software changes didn't help the problem so I ordered a new camera module and changed the part. I read that dropping the phone might lead to the lenses getting somehow disoriented and there's only solution to change the module..
Now after replacing the old module the camera app can use the front camera but when I swap to the primary back camera an error occurs and it claims it can't connect to the camera and the camera closes. Is this new module that should be for A2/X6 somehow still somehow incompatible or do you guys have any idea what might the problem?
I've tried to clear the data from the camera, I've reset the factory settings - no help.

Well IMHO, this kind of thing is better leave it to the authorized people @ expert.. I mean you sent it to service center or phone shop and let they do the replacement.. Me itself have experience of dropping my A2 from second floor and screen is badly shattered.. Although I know how to replace it but I won't do that.. I ordered the replacement parts and then sent it to the shop and let them do it.. I just pay for labor cost..

[HELP ME] Cannot connect to camera on macro

Bought a Redmi 9 used (3/32) purple, the phone works well, but I'm seeing a couple of issues.
The first and main one is, as the title states, an error with the macro camera. When I open the Camera app and select macro, it does not switch to the macro lens. When I select 0.6x zoom it also doesn't switch to the ultrawide lens, however in pro mode the ultrawide works, but the macro gives the error "Cannot connect to camera." In CIT, the macro doesnt work and the "dual rear camera" option also gives the same error (cit crashes).
The second issue is the the compass wont calibrate and so I can't use it, I've been moving it as stated in the instructions for a whole minute and it doesn't seem to calibrate.
My main issue is the camera one, can anyone tell me if it's a hardware issue or if it can be fixed by flashing a custom rom.
I'm running the latest update of MIUI which is available (12.5.5 Global).
