I'm on the first of the two (not Rooted, yet, waiting for bootloader waiting period) and I love it. Is there a good reason I should change to Xiaomi.eu rom?
Is up to you to flash and test it to see if it's of your like, I personally like it better Xiaomi.eu due the lasts changes of china rom compared to global, and now MIUI 11 beta is coming soon.
What changes on .eu could be so good to be chosen over the stability of the global?
I prefer global because of widevine L1. Xiaomi.eu is L3.

L1 is now on xiaomi.eu beta
No ads is enough for me to get away from stock. The only reason i'm on miui.eu is because i can't get a better battery life in any other rom.

I see. Thanks for the info.
Well personally theres not bloatware on eu, there's good stability for being a "beta" good battery backup at least for me, widevine L1 is now working, notifications on status bar and lockscreen works great now, and few things that are minimum changes like the translation for the launcher with app-drawer, the update of the camera with modes in the camera-roll. That's why I recommend for everyone to test each ROM and find the most of their like based on their own use.
Miui.eu developer got permanent notifications btw.
On global stable they disappear after a few seconds.

Isn't this regular Android behaviour? You mean the notification that pops up and then you can normally access it in notification list.
When it comes to ads, I uninstalled all mi apps since I don't want them anyways and I haven't seen a single app ad yet.

No, i mean the status bar icons left to the notch, which indicate new messages for example.
(You have to enable "show icons for incoming notifications" in settings.)
But in global they disappear after few seconds. To achieve a cleaner look i guess.
Miui.eu fixed this.

Another thing: i can't use the Mi theme store in global. (not allowed in my country) without a workaround. It's also fixed in .eu.
There's also a 3-way reboot menu (bootloader and recovery) and things like AI preloading (Apps start up a little faster)
Just give it a try. You can always go back to stock global with Mi Flash Tool
You also lose OTA on the global of Rooted, don't you? On .eu you can get OTA weekly. And a good thing is I guess that it's based on the Chinese MIUI, and there's gotta be less bugs than some ported custom rom out there.
I think that Global MIUI is the best ROM so far for this device.
Xiaomi.eu is a good MIUI custom ROM but I don't think that it's more stable than stock Global ROM. It's maintained only by a small group of people, ROMs are not tested before release, it has old navbar buttons, old system apps (Global rom has system app updater which is good) and ota's are not working properly so far.
So I prefer stock Global ROM until the phone is supported by Xiaomi. After that I'll flash PE Plus which is the best AOSP ROM for this phone so far.

Hi guys, just got the Mi9, good device
I updated to latest 10.2 global (or something like that), and read that now it can keep the notification icons in the status bar.
I can't find the setting for that ? Is there a setting ?
Thanks for your insight
EDIT:
Short answer, if you like your notification icons to stay more than a few secs in the status bar :
Install global beta (dev) version of MIUI, using the XiaomiTool V2 or other method, no need to unlock boobloader.
Links, more details bellow, thanks to all who answered to my question!

Yeah, that was on.
I suppose that's a "suck it up" situation.
Asked a friend about it who never used other phones than Xiaomi, and he does not find a problem there lol.
Hope I can get used to it, but seems to be the way it works on many Chinese made devices.
I don't quite understand your concern. Are you looking to get notification icons in status bar?
You'd need to install global betas, which you can do if you're on global without unlocking bootloader. Then you enable them under status bar settings.
Follow this guide and install global dev(beta) rom everything will come back plus battery life a lot better, thats what I did and I felt much better, now since my bootloader is unlocked Iam rooted with a slightly different rom but global dev is good enough as long as your bootloader is locked, hope this helps, cheers

I have the stupid waiting period for unlocking the bootloader, so might as well go ahead and do what you suggest.

you can use NotchTest from play store as a workaround if you don't want or you are not able to unlock the bootloader.

If you find missing the option to select files just click 10 times on "10" to get access.

From Global Stable to Global Dev nothing will harm your data. All settings, apps etc. will remain as before.

Unpleasant surprise for me ...
After getting my Mi 9Tpro euro, I discovered that the euro phone does not comes with the following:
Xiaomi Dialer/Contact
Xiaomi Sms
Facemoji Keyboard
But with the stock Google dialer etc .. instead
if Facemoji can easily be installed, from the store, the dialer and sms (althought they can be downloaded from apk repositories ) will crash or not fully work if you side load them from apk..
Vanilla android app might be to some taste , but I'm pissed to be stuck with them as I happen to like Xiomi's
may be I could try to get the global ROM? but really wtf is xiaomi doing with there euro rom... and what reviewer are doing ... seems they are testing everything but the phone part of the phone -_-
can't you just use one of the miui.eu roms? they include all xiaomi features but without the bloat/spyware

Afik, xiaomi.eu doesn't have ota support. Also, I faced mic problem in eu rom. I'm currently using mi globe and it's based on xiaomi.eu but surprisingly doesn't have mic problem.
Also, .eu rom is based on Chinese miui.

OTA does not work on EU roms you would need to install the updates manually. It would not cause any data loss. You can read about this on xiaomi.eu

I also bought the Mi 9T Pro (EU version) yesterday. Isn't there a way just to find the Xiaomi stock dialer apk somewhere for this phone??
No. Installing the original miui apks doesn't work, they crash. There are two ways to have them - wait for the global official rom to come out at en.miui.com and try to install it without unlocking bootloader, or if it doesn't work out - unlock, install it and leave it like that. I've posted a theme here for the call recording and it's the same problem, actually...

After some long, tedious and pointless email exchange with OnePlus Support they finally said they were sorry for "miscommunication" and advised to raise this as an idea here: https://forums.oneplus.com/feedback/
I do not agree this is an idea. There is already a builtin call recording app, this just has to be allowed by default for Poland just like for India.
What you can do with a minimum effort to enable it on the phone:
Get SetEdit App from Play Store
Get jOnePlus Tools
Get ADB as shown here https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/
Run two ADB Commands:
adb shell pm grant net.jroot3d.joneplustools android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
adb shell pm grant by4a.setedit22 android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
In SetEdit go to Global Table (top right), then find "op_voice_recording_supported_by_mcc", edit the value to 1
Go to jOnePlus Tools, enable call recording
What will you achieve? Now, you can auto record calls in your region through the built-in app.
Will this work after reboot? jOnePlus Tools should keep the recording after the reboot. In case it does not, you can use SetEdit after the reboot to enable the option after the reboot.
Does this need root? No root require.
Linking all threads in this forum about our common dialer problem:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/help/mi-9t-pro-call-recording-t3961106
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/help/mi-9t-pro-problem-t3959150
It might possibly lead to not crash the xiaomi call app, but I think installing the global rom is easier and less risky. Just wait and see... And there will be OTAs with the official global rom.
installed the xiaomi.eu rom
it has xiomi apps (and new one from the quick menu)
it second space is off by defalt
i get twice the battery life (for my usage)
I wonder if this is the reason for the lack of the call recording feature:
https://iapp.org/news/a/how-do-the-rules-on-audio-recording-change-under-the-gdpr/ (summary, it's illegal in Europe to record calls, without the explicit agreement of the other person)
How about searching on APKMirror?
Successfully installed yesterday on your personal phone without any problems.

According to Xiaomi EU yes, take into account that TWRP doesn't decrypt data a12, I was able to test it out but kept getting a permission error crash. Some peeps did it with the OTA update and it worked according to there posts.
If you want come back to a11 Xiaomi EU you must flash first fastboot ROM from Xiaomi EU android 11 (old one), full boot, next flash twrp, format all yes, flash stable a11, format, fully boot.
If you have twrp data partition backup from twrp after fully boot and set pin (nessrsary, tested today) come back to recovery, restore data, boot
Tested today other "short way" and always was problematic , use my instruction

That is what happened to me with the random reboots after using the beta build even after clean fresh install. Have you had any issues with permission crashing?
I'am on Xiaomi.eu 21.9.1 beta ROM and it shows up as update in the updater. How can I update it EXACTLY? I read about fastboot mode but why would it show up in the updater tho? Some confusing posts at xda and xiaomi.eu Forums.

Been using it for several hours now and after setting the minimun fps for the screen at 90 and flashing a couple of Magisk mods and it has been running great to the point I forgot I had switched. I will say there are some Ii glitches but not something noticeblw all the time. Like when it boots the screen will be shown like for one hand use it redraws itself and it gets fixed also for example when switching screen density you have to kind play with the font size to get it to fix or a reboot will fix it. Anyways nothing major but it passes safety net it's rooted and it's working great

I wasn't using a pin and I don't know if it matters since it's done from fastboot mode, but I only literally just rebooted to fastboot and ran the bat file script. So no need to wipe anything since it's done all by the script it will reboot by itself and you just have to wait for it to boot it might take some minute for first boot so be patient.

That's not possible even on stables, MIUI doesn't let use gestures with third party launchers no way to hide not even with Magisk or anything I tried most of not all methods. I use fng too it works with miui launcher once you hide the gesture bar just make sure MIUI doesn't kill the app in the background
Yes ROM MIUI Mix is working fantastic, great battery no issue playing COD at max settings smooth etc. I set.my screen to min fps 90 Hz and it's just the sweet spot.

Hi everyone,
last night I received an update to MIUI 14 Global Stable 14.0.3.
I was pretty excited when I got it... but... after the update... a huge disappoint -.-"
Basically, from my side, nothing changed.
The only "FIX" I was waiting for from Android 12 came from Google finally in Android 13 FIXED the volume control for my cast.
But more than that? I don't see any change Really, nothing.
No extra options, no extra AOD, and nothing more than MIUI13/Android12.
Did I miss something?
Any opinion from you guys?

Mmm... I feel like a pretty noob at this moment.
So, I received a Stable Beta? Why? I'm not part of any Beta Tester program.
And Yes, that's the version I can see on my phone. But it said Global, not EEA.
I thought EEA and Global were different. Mmmm....
Well... I guess at this point better wait for the Stable one and see what others will think.
PS
I found out the "options" related to the Default Home are buggy...
but if still a beta, maybe make sense.

Even when you apply for bootloader unlock, Xiaomi gives permission to unlock bootloaded after a random amount of time

I've checked and had logs of charging sessions and battery consumption.
But I've noticed that lags are still present after the factory reset.
I'll never update to a new major MIUI version. I'll wait a month, and then I'll update.
I'm on miui 14 EU rom and the rear display settings turns off randomly, also the display doesn't remember what I was last on, for example if I'm listening to music it need to double again and it starts on the clock. Anyone else with this issue?
The image shows the settings it resets to.

Thanks for your reply, All this time I thought I had stable veizon. The only other bug I have is the dialer crashing when I add a new contact.

You can downgrade provided you unlock the bootloader.
EDIT:
I gave you bad information.
You are using a stable Xiaomi Eu rom based on the stock one posted above so obviously the bootloader is unlocked.
try a weekly.

It seems to me that the installation of the different version on the apps provided with the rom is not possible following the modifications made, in particular the translation..

Hi Robert235,
I had the same problem with Xiaomi.eu 13.013.
In my opinion I had this issue after I tried super wallpaper.
This turns also off the AOD.
But I not recognized this, because AOD still works.
After I turn on AOD, also with super WP, the issue was gone with my rear display.
Maybe also on your device...
Good look

I'm using latest weekly, but from A12 weeklys till now rearscreen is nearly useless for me.....i remember it works with chinese rom that came with device.
