Flash custom recovery(Philz or twrp) via adb and then boot into recovery and flash superSu update binary zip file. You are rooted
Follow steps from here..

twrp not support kitkat 4.4.4
Twrp is definitely supported. It's the only custom recovery I've used on the Moto X
Sent from my XT1060

This works just fine on 4.4.4 on my 1st gen moto x -> http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/234 I downloaded the 2.7.1.1 IMG from -> http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/ghost and flashed with mfastboot. That is what I'm still using, but others have successfully used the 2.8.x versions.
Just remember you have to reboot-bootloader and go into recovery IMMEDIATELY after flashing or it wont stick. example:
mfastboot flash recovery twrp.img
mfastboot reboot-bootloader
{use the phone's on screen instructions to select recovery}

Don't know. TWRP was the first custom recovery available for the X, so that is what I've used.
I haven't used CWM since my HTC Thunderbolt. (which is a while ago)

The "better" recovery is the one you prefer.

Theres a toolkit in the android development section that does pretty much everything for you. http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/development/tool-moto-x-toolkit-v1-4-0-t2477132
I was trying to put XPOSED on my Moto maxx (brazil version) and I turn it off and I turn on, in fastboot mode, and I go to recovery mode and it turn on.
After that I flash an zip (of a post on XDA) to put xposed. From nothing it start to encrypt itself and I, don't knowing what I do, I turn my phone off. Now it turn on but appears a message saying "Encryption unsuccessful"
PS.: I'm using CYANOGENMOD ROM.
WHAT CAN I DO?????????

Yes, you can navigate to -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/dro...quark-stock-firmware-moto-maxx-droid-t3063470 Thanks to @Jaocagomez for this post! You will need to find your correct firmware version under "Brasil Moto Maxx XT1225", you will also need to download "RSD LITE 6.2.4" you will find it in the thread as well. You will flash the firmware with RSD LITE.

Hi to everyone,
I have a huge problem, my only phone, is kinda messed up.
I have a Moto G (2nd gen) 4G XT1072, and i wiped everything after rooting and installing the recovery.
Here's comes the problem, when I try to flash ANY firmware, it fails.
When I try to install cyano it pops out that I have a titan not a thea, that is wrong, because xt1072 is thea
When I try to restore original firmware with msfastboot the phone says something about the image, something link the image is too big
I don't know what to do now guys, i feel so lost :/
Help me please
Edit: I've tried even this with minimal adb and fastboot:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...dows-tool-moto-g-2015-xt1072-restore-t3124915
still getting image is too large as output as soon it start to flash system.img_sparsechunk.0
Re edit: Solved

Booteng into TWRP recovery, wiped everything except sd card, tried to install the rom that you have in the signature and the phone says that:
"This package is for device: thea, thea_umtsds, thea_ds,XT1072, XT1078,XT1079; this device is titan.
E: Error executing updater binary in zip....
Error flashing sdcard/romname

Dear everybody...first of all I am nube. Please forgive me if I've done something wrong. My moto g 2014 (xt 1068) is perfectly rooted and twrp ver. 2.7.0.1 was installed. I recently tried to update twrp 3.0.1 using flashify. After that I can not boot into recovery. Any chance to fix it ? Thanks in advance.
