So loving the phone so far but my download speeds seem to be throttled when downloading on the Play store. <500kb/s consistently. other apps that require additional files download fine and streaming content is unaffected. It seems to be a common problem but i cant find a solution anyone else experiencing this ?
At first i thought it was my internet was going through a slow moment, but then i noticed the speeds never got better, I also have my note 5 which downloads from the play store at 10 mb/s so.

i know what u talking about my friend ! I got same issue with my mi5 pro. And I didn't fix that. It just some apps downloading good and some super slow...and it doesn't matter how speedy your wifi. Also chase bank is not working and some other apps will not. US and China is fighting with each other or what ever it is sir. The other roms will not help too.....until Cyanogen maybe. Damn I was about to pay 1.5k for the device and you remind all that sh!t I was faced to.
Best Regards
Avi
Seem to remember my wives note pro doing the same thing, then found out it had a vendor rom, once I took the chance and flashed genuine rom all was good. Where did you download playstore from? I had better results using Xiaomi google installer from their own store.
Yah the eBay seller installed the global rom for me including the play store. Maybe I should try installing it myself.
Mine does the same thing, and I'm pretty sure I have a vendor Rom on it as well. I figured it had to do with the Locale setting as it defaults to China and there is no United States listed.
But now that I have all my apps moved over its not as much of an issue, but it is pretty strange.
Is it the Play Store throttling? or something else on the phone maybe?
I installed the latest EU Rom and it has worked very well for me. No download issues in Play Store and actually being able to set wallpapers and lock screen compared to when I was on the China Rom. Plus, I can set locale to US with the EU.

I was having problems with slow downloads as well and it went away when I disabled the download accelerator in the MI APP STORE (which seems to try to point to some server in China which doesn't work well from the USA).
APP STORE, Account, Downloads, click on the to right (3 dots), settings and shut off "Xunlei download engine) and set "downloading using mobile data is" to unlimited.
Once I did this, it fixed my problems with the Google Play Store (as well as an updates from the MI app store).
Not sure if this will help but you can give it a try

I have the original China rom too, and turning off the MI app setting didn't help me at all.
What version of google play services are you running?
I didn't have the Mi App Store installed at all on whatever rom I had on this phone, But I find it odd that only Google Play gets throttled, and not all the time either. I even tried installing the Mi App Store separately, but unfortunately it won't even launch on my phone.
So can we assume that there is some sort of redirect in the phone somewhere for just the Play Store? Or is the Play Store picking up our locale and redirecting itself?
Just trying to get some more info to track this down, I hope nothing else is being routed through Chinese servers.
So I finally installed the EU Stable rom. Got rooted, disabled everything Xiaomi related, nothing in my running tasks is different from standard android.
Google Play is still being throttled to around 500K/s. But not all the time..
Could this be something on Googles end? Is there any sort of network monitor that might show it using some sort of proxy? Nothing else on the phone is slow, just the Play Store...
It's never googles end. freeze the download manager or disable it from apps, long time since I used xiaomi, thats about to change.

Freezing Download Manager (Using Titanium Backup) makes the Play Store not work at all. Something is hiding on this phone, i'll find it! lol...

I tried this too, Didn't seem to work either, the older DownloadProviders may not be compatible with MIUI 8...
http://en.miui.com/thread-326830-1-1.html
Google play is slow also in my country between 16:00 GMT up to 01:00
I have tried it on many different phones it is the same, my connection speed is avereged at 50 Mbs d/l, so your phone is ok don't panic

I'm trying to find the instructions from another thread on changing the MIUI optimizations that throttle download speed. I'll post them here shortgly

It's starting to look like the issue is in the DownloadProvider.apk. It sounds like people with the EU Dev rom don't have this issue.
If someone on the EU Dev rom could post their DownloadProvider.apk that would be awesome. /system/priv-app/DownloadProvider is the location...

Installed it on my Diesel Full Guard. Installation works (only iOS-Version but I've got a Galaxy S8 and android wear smartwatch) but no steps are counted and no weather is shown. Is there a fix for this?
When I try to install your android apks the installations works but no watchface is shown on my watch.
I got the apk on my ticwatch installed via adb but i cant get it like watchface on my ticwatch e.
Can you give me solution please?
Once you have installed the APK of the watch face on your Android device it will show up as available to install at the bottom of the Play Store app on your AW watch.
Hi all, I have downloaded the apk's on my PHONE and installed them, but I do not see them on my WATCH under the Play Store under APPS ON YOUR PHONE as available to install. Just a few other apps. Is there a setting I need to change to see all apps (including system apps) maybe?
Really great looking faces in here. Unfortunately it looks like the weather and steps are pulled from mobvois own software that is exclusive to the ticwatches. Shame too because these faces look great. Hopefully someone with more experience than me can pull those apps from the ticwatches.

So I got mines to work. I downloaded it again and exported it to my phone. Make sure to install the apk's from the Android folder. That's it. That worked for me.

Hi....
For 2 months i bought, a Mate 20 Lite.
I'm pretty satisfied. The problem is that the original musicapp seems to have a bug !?
Every time I open the app, the music always starts at the first song and never at the last heard. Is a bit annoying with over 100 songs and more.
So I contacted HUAWEI support I tried the following:
App reset - works 2-3 times and that's it
Device completely reset to factory settings - same result
Telephone manager uses - as well
HUAWEI say´s I should send my device to the support.
Has everyone the same problem?
Why I used this app is, for me is this app ok and you can neither deactivate nor uninstall it.
Android 8.1 as software
Update currently

Hello,
Why you don't install another player from play store? You've some free great options.
Cheers.

As it's a Huawei app, it's going to be full of bugs that have existed for years. This appears to be no exception. It would be best to move to another app.
Hello,
I'm using Huawei P40 Pro (10.1.0 EMUI Version Latest) and have tried most Tutorials on YouTube to Install Google Services but none have worked, unfortunately. :/
I've tried ictfix and a lot others. I never get the Chinese App Working, it opens and Closes Automatically and if I skip this part I never can login to Google Account, it just keeps loading.
Any advice, please?
Many Thanks
On other threads looks like its not working

The app has expired. Just take your sim cards out, so they cant update date and switch off wifi untill you launch the G app. Just set the date back to June or before and the app works fine.
Hello Guys,
Unfortunately, that has been already mentioned in a few Videos and even taking out the SIM and putting the Date back isn't working.
At this stage, I believe there isn't any stable way, but I'd be really happy if I can get my Chrome Sync Bookmarks & Passwords working at least which is really important to me for my work.
Thanks
