Aod in MIUI theme - Xiaomi Mi 9 Questions & Answers

I had the mi mix3. There I was able to download aod scenes via miui theme. is there no possibility for the mi 9?

Sorry. What are 'aod scenes' ?

I mean the clock on Lockscreen... I hate my english ?

Should be the same: Themes->Categories->Simple Lock Screen or Fancy Lock Screen.
Otherwise, if I misunderstood you: Settings->Display->Ambient Display->Always On->turn it on, then tap on the preview image as shown in the attached video (remove the .zip extension).

The downloaded file from leledumbo should have the name Screenrecorder-2019-09-23-03-01-42-724.mp4.zip
If you don't see the .zip extension, in Explorer, go to "View" tab and check "File names extensions".
Now select the file, right click, select "Rename" and delete ".zip" part of the filename.
You should be able to watch the file.

Code:
[b]Download the attached zip file.
Extract it to (wherever you like) then follow the instructions below.[/b]
==============================================================================
Step by Step instructions on how to create your custom splash screen
for the Diamond and Rafael windows mobile.
==============================================================================
Step 1: Create your image
-
Choose, find or create the image you would like to have as your splash screen.
Use your image editor (photoshop is my choice) to adjust your image.
The size of the picture needed for the splash is 640x480 72dpi.
Save it as (24 Bit) (bmp) in folder (2-bmp to rsb to bmp).
goto Step 2.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 2: Convert your image from *.bmp to *.rsb
-
Run rsbbmp.exe in folder (2-bmp to rsb to bmp).
Click on [Add Files] and choose your bmp.
Click on [Convert All]
Your image has now been cloned and converted to rsb format.
Move or copy your rsb file to folder (3-rsb to nb).
goto Step 3.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 3: Convert your image from *.rsb to *.nb
-
Run Splash-RSB Converter.exe in folder (3-rsb to nb)
Choose VGA (640x480) then press [Convert].
Choose your rsb and save it in folder (4-patchsplashv0.1) click on [Done]
goto Step 4.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 4: Patch your image file.
-
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Remember, patchsplash.exe is a command line tool. If you run the program by double
clicking on it a cmd window will open showing you examples of the command line you
will need to type to patch your *.nb that is all.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First, open the folder (4-patchsplashv0.1) in Windows file explorer. Copy the
address found at the top of the explorer window.
example: D:\PDA\HTC\splash\4-patchsplashv0.1
On Windows, Start Menu->Run... Click on Run then paste the address you copied
from win explorer then type the rest of the line needed for patching.
My example:
D:\PDA\HTC\splash\4-patchsplashv0.1\patchsplash R YOURFILENAME.nb YOURFILENAME_P.nb
\patchsplash R YOURFILENAME.nb YOURFILENAME_P.nb -> Rafael
\patchsplash D YOURFILENAME.nb YOURFILENAME_P.nb -> Diamond
Press enter and you're done!
A cmd.exe window will pop up telling you the process is complete.
REMEMBER
The first part of my example "D:\PDA\HTC\splash\4-patchsplashv0.1\"
is what I copied from win explorer.
"I" then move the new "_P.nb" file to the folder (5-nb to nbh) so not to
confuse it with the unpatched file.
goto Step 5.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 5: Create the *.nbh for flashing
-
Run NBHutil.exe in the (5-nb to nbh) folder.
Note: (the NBHUtil.xml file has to be in the same folder as NBHUtil.exe).
On first tab 'Build NBH', in the 'Target Device' list, choose "Diamond" or "Rafael"
located ad the bottom of the list.
On the right side, you have the "NBH Items". Click on the [...] button for "Splash".
An "Open" window pops up. Locate and select the .nb file that you just created.
Press [Build NBH!]
Type a file name and save!
This will create a .nbh file in the location you chosen. ((5-nb to nbh) folder by default)
goto Step 6.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 6: Flash your NEW Splash Screen!!!
-
I personally like to create a new folder for my newly created .nbh files.
In each folder I have my (*.nbh) and a copy of (RaphaelCustomRUU.exe).
In this way I can quickly flash which ever splash screen I want without any extra effort.
Create a folder. Place your new .nbh and a copy of RaphaelCustomRUU.exe in the folder.
Run RaphaelCustomRUU.exe, follow the instructions and you will have a new splash screen!
Enjoy! ;)

If your talking about pictures that you only want viewable in something like "Astro File Manager" you could put a dot in front of the folder in question.
For example, for the pictures I have of my GF, i hide it by naming the folder ".GF" and it wont show in Gallery at all... but if you use a file browser like Astro you can view the files by going into the folder.
In Linux, a dot before the name of the folder usually means a hidden folder, hence thats why gallery won't pick it up then.
ive added dots to the beginning of some of the folder, but they are still appearing in the gallery

If you wana hide pic, you can use advanced launcher to just hide the gallery. Images in a zip should not come up in your gallery unless the zip was extracted. I think you my have images in your "download" folder. Just move them somewhere else and they shouldn't come up anymore

[MIUI] Lockscreen Help. {Solved}

So I've been asking for help from all the great LS-Themers on XDA with little things like changing the music controls to notifications to resolution, etc.
I've been wanting to do the edits myself, but XML editing seemed a little hard.
Anyway, I tried today and correct me if I'm wrong, but, when you want to edit the XML of a LS, you change the mtz file to zip. Unzip it and you should be presented with the files in that lockscreen, pngs, etc.
I unzipped my current LS, 'iDroid.' I got none of that.
I'm attaching the screenshot of what shows when I unzip it.
In the 'description' XML file, I don't get a huge XML code..I get this;
Code:
This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.
<MIUI-Theme><title>iDroid Slide2Unlock</title><author>thefsfempire</author><version>1.0</version><uiVersion>1</uiVersion></MIUI-Theme>
I've opened it with the XML Editor that's on my computer. Microsoft Word and Firefox. They all show that ^
And then there's that 'lockscreen' file. That's just...a file. I can't do anything with it.
There are no folders that show the pngs and stuff.
What am I doing wrong? D: I want to start editing little things on my own, instead of asking everyone all the time.

Oooh ok. I got it. Thanks. I didn't know you had to change that to zip too.
Okay, so now that I got the editor and I can start changing little things.
In order for this to take effect, I need to save it over the original file as XML.
What about this 'manifest.xml.bak' file? Should I do anything with that, or leave it alone?
Once I've done the edits and save. I need to rezip the advanced folder it's in with 'themes value' that was unzipped with it, then how do I rename it back to just a 'file' type?

You don't need the manifest.xml.bak you can delete that if you want
To zip it back up you need winrar
You need to have everything in the right folders, so you need your advance folder with your manifest in there, and you need the theme_value..
You have to add those 2, to archive by selecting them and right clicking
Then with the winrar pop up you need to make sure 'store' is selected under compression or method, not at a computer/laptop so not 100% which it is and also make sure zip is selected not rar
Finally remove zip extension from the file and zip the whole lock screen back
EDIT: NVM I GOT IT. YAY. Haha. I can now do little things by myself on future lockscreens.
Now, the next thing I need to learn how to do is changing battery charging status and pngs.
you can use the "old format":
that is
your_theme
|__description.xml
|__preview (optional)
|__lockscreen (it is a folder)
......|__advanced (it is a folder too, coming from lockscreen)
..............|__all lockscreen stuff (as files)
......|__theme_values.xml (in lockscreen)
you ahve to zip in the contents of "your_theme" and name it mtz. then copy to phone and phone asks if you want to convert to new format. chooese yes and done
God! said:
Alright, I added the Advanced folder and themes value file to winrar.
Selected Zip and "Store" under the compression menu. Then ok.
Well it saved it as a zip as 'lockscreen' but there's no way to change it back to just the 'file' type it was.
I tried zipping THAT zip with the rest of the files into a zip, then renaming it to mtz and applying it on my phone, but it just ended up being the default lock.
I must be doing something wrong.
Click to collapse
When you have zipped it up using the store and zip options, and are left with lock screen.zip.. Open the zip with winrar, don't extract just open, when winrar opens with the files go back a step so you can see the lock screen.zip rather than its files and just delete the zip extension that way and close winrar

This method is by far easy and quicker in my honest opinion
Alrighty then.
Now onto my next issue.
How hard would it be to take away the charging battery/status off this lockscreen and replace it with this kind of battery charging status?
As you can see, the default iPhone charging covers up the music controls and notifications when they come in. I want just the simple glowing bar above the unlocker like the other one.
if you have both manifests then you can swap in the battery section to the ls you want (look for "battery")
you have to copy the appropiate images to your ls and might have to change coordinates
Thanks Picard. That wasn't as hard as I thought.
I deleted all the battery images from the first one and put in the ones from the second.
Deleted the battery section in the XML and replaced it with the other.
Changed the coordinates and ****ing bam! I did it!
Edit; Fixed my coordinate mistake.

[UTILITY][TOOL] App to Un/Re-pack mtz files for lockscreen resize

Hi,
This is a small TOOL to UnPack and RePack mtz files for lockscreen editing.
I have found a thread in which OP has started resizing mtz lockscreen themes (MiLocker) for LDPI/MDPI.
This process involves unzipping couple of files, editing xml file & images and re-zipping them. So, for testing all this process is a hectic, i thought to have a tool which can do this process automated.
changelog V2:
can pull mtz files from sdcard
can push repacked mtz files to sdcard
Repack BUG fixed.
changelog V1:
Initial Release
1. Unpack mtz
2. Repack mtz
More versions will be coming soon but i need your inputs and suggestions for that.
I wrote a program which can resize the images based on percentage given...
And also found a logic to edit the manifest file. It almost gets resized but still some has to be done manually...
Can anyone help me out with some logic...???

So the problem might be with the original images in the mtz file... bcoz im jus unzipping them not dealing with the images...
for lockscreen resize u need to change the x and y values in manifest.xml file... and also resize the images for your screen resolution.
Thats all i can say now for resizing...
Nice, but I don't know why it doesn't work for me. I changed one number in manifest.xml and the lockscreen theme doesn't work. It looks like the screen is blocked but there's no lockscreen. Even if delete it, cleare cache, uninstall and instal MILocker again. I can't even get original lockscreen working. I was playing with the "Zipper" it wouln't unlock screen even if I unziped it to the very bottom of the screen. It took several times it to unlock. I tried to change the length, so that it would unlock a bit earlier. It says it is applied, however can't see it where unlock screen should be.
i think your syntax is incorrect because everytime i repack it's always say like that. and all file that i was edited is been delete and nothing file in repacked_mtz folder. i love your idea please fix this
NB: file in lockscreen can't edit

The number you have changed might not work with the screen... Try lowering your number by 50% for ldpi screen.

You need to follow these steps to edit and repack your lockscreen.
Note: Use v2
1. (option s) to select a file. (if you donot have files in orig_mtz folder you can connect your phone and use pull mtz files option 3 and use option s)
2. after selecting a mtz file use option 1 to unpack your mtz file.
Note: donot close the tool.
3. now you may edit your files manifest.xml and resize images
Note: if you have closed the tool reopen it and select the mtz file that you have edited using option s.
4. now use option 2 to repack your changed files and the repacked file with your changes is found in repacked_mtz folder.
5. you can now copy the repacked mtz file to sdcard/MIUI/theme or use option 4 to push the selected mtz file to phone.
I have tried the same and successfully resized one lockscreen...

Coooooool.....Dude, Worked on my Xiaomi RN4 (Nikel).
a. unpacked .mtz using your utility [Hybrid+V8-1.0.0.0.mtz]
Link to file: https://xiaomininja.com/download/hybrid-theme-file-download/
b. Replaced boot animation .zip file as I like (Google_Swirl)
c. Replaced both Lock Screen and Home Screen Wallpapers
d. Repacked to .mtz
e. Imported in Off-line Themes from MIUI Folder and finally applied successfully. All OK here.
Next project is to change the icon packs with CM 14.1 for my Xiaomi RN4 (Nikel)
Keep posting these small packs with BIG BLASTs.
Take Care..

[Touch Pointer Mod]Changing the white dot to whatever icon you like!

Since I can't find any thread about this I decided to make one,
For those who enabled "show touches" in developers option and can't stand that ugly white dot, good thing about android is everything is modifiable. You can to replace that white dot to whatever icon you like, but you'll need a PC and a usb cable.
1. Connect your phone to your pc.
2. Copy /system/framework/framework-res.apk to your pc
3. Extract it to Desktop use the search bar and type pointer.
4. Once you see the pointer icon you click open file location.
5. Now, download some picture you want and resize it to smaller resolution like 50x50 then convert it to png format.
6. Save it to desktop and change the name into the file that you are going to replace.
7. Use 7zip (best free zipper ever) and navigate to where you found your white dot and paste your desired icon in it.
8. Copy the modified framework-res.apk to your phone.
9. Use any root explorer (ES File Explorer) and paste the modified framework-res.apk to /system/framework/
10. Replace the original file and change its permission to rw--r--r--.
now reboot and voila you're done. any thanks will be appreciated.
