I have galaxy S10, SM-G973F/DS running Android 9, Magisk ver. 19302
My problem is the Magisk doesn't update in my phone.
Every time I try to update (direct install), it says that the update is successful, but after reboot I still have the same Magisk version.
Any ideas?
Thanks!!
Anyone?
Please...

Hi,
I had no problem until magisk v12, but i recently tried v13.1 and v13.2 and both failed during upgrade through magisk manager 5.0.4 and 5.0.5.
I also tried to install it directly from twrp 3.1.0.0. The install finished in a good way but when i reeboot i can check that magisk is not installed anymore.
I am running marshmallow on an alcatel idol 3.
By the way my sd storage is adoptable but i did have problem until v12.
Thanks for your help.
For me, 13.1 and everything before installed fine but 13.2 will not, I always get "installation error". I manually updated the manager, but it does not help.
Hi, same problem here, i can't update magisk, it says installation error.
How to solve that ?
I use rooted nougat on s7 edge
Anyone with this issue should post a recovery log from flashing the zip in recovery. In TWRP, go to Advanced - Copy log.
Same here ... no update possible 12-> 13.3
I updated the Manager with no issue, and also downloaded the Magisk 18.1 zip to flash via TWRP.
TWRP didn't show any errors, but when I reboot Manager is telling me that Magisk isn't installed. I've also got a notification that keeps reappearing, prompting me to update Magisk.
Is there a step I'm missing?
I'm getting the same problem.

I have the same issue when i try to flash the patched AP file tot the a50 it gets stuck on flashing the recovery. All other methodes so far are not working. Also, i can live without root for a while but it would be nice if it was solved.
I was able to successfully root the samsung a50 sm-a505w with the latest magisk patch available with little to no issues but this was on android 9 and i was able to successfully able to get twrp recovery also but the downside it stopped haptic feedback from working but other then that it worked perfectly
hi, today i updated my magisk version with the official app. i choosed the recommend option and i cliked update; after it completed the update i clicked reboot, but after this my phone is continously rebooting, but i don't see the screen what can i do?
Same thing happens to me on Dr. Ketan's latest Q rom for Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ N975F.
Only unisnatlling magisk 20.4 via TWRP solves the boot loop. :/

Dear Team,
When I try to patch the AP file there is an error and it says: "Process error installation failed" , both canary and magisk 24.1 are used in the process
phone info:
android 12, one ui 4.0 (firmware downloaded and flashed 12 hrs ago on my s21 phone)
s21 5g (sm-g991b/ds)
AP filename that iam trying to patch: AP_G991BXXU4BULF_G991BXXU4BULF_SCL23365054_VCL23364085_MCL23373251_SQB47608375_VQB47608374_MQB47608349_REV01_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT_meta_OS12.tar.md5
see screenshot, please help. thank you.
In my case, when I click the update button while on Canary 23016, Magisk Manager simply evaporates with no error, no log. I'm going to try patching a boot image. I have the January update, Pixel 6 stock.

So, it turned out to be a bit of a confusing UI "language". I had the 24.1 app installed, but it had an update button next to it. The Magisk library had the typical "install" button rather than "update". I clicked install and was able to proceed normally.
Edit: Spoke too soon. It updated, and I rebooted, but it still showed the Canary. I finally had to delete the app (which was still actually the canary version, but crashed on update) and install the new APK. After reboot.... The proper version is now applied - 24.1.
Whew!
