Hi there,
I have a TA-1055 which is the WW 4gb RAM single-sim version, mostly sold in UK and Italy (?)
I bricked it flashing twrp uncorrectly then I wanted to download an original firmware, but versions available online are just for TA-1046 and TA-1062.
Since the 1062 is 6gb RAM, I think I'd have to go for the 1046, would it work anyway on the 1055?
I honestly don't think so, that's why I'm desperately searching for the proper firmware.
Any help/suggestion?
Thanks guys,
always the bests!
1055,1046 and NonChinese(with AndroidOne logo on back) 1062 have same OTA FW
only chinese(without AndroidOne logo on back) version of 1062 have diferent
According to this manual, I installed Android 9.0 of my TA-1055.
Everything was OK
https://www.techmesto.com/nokia-7-plus-android-pie-update-manually/
I got the October security update over OTA!!

Do you remember which security patch you were on before you flashed twrp? And were you on pie or Oreo?
I have the stock boot images for most of the firmware and security patch updates, so I can provide you help, I believe. One of my friends has a ta-1055 single sim and my boot.img worked for him

There's a chance you're gonna be my God before Nokia hell center lol can you attach it?

Haha consider as your friend. First rename it to .rar and then extract it. I had to do this in order to bypass attachment size limit

Hi, I have a TA-1055 that is locked on EE uk, would the pie update you mentioned at https://www.techmesto.com/nokia-7-pl...date-manually/ work on this or would I have to unlock/root 1st.
Hi,
I've wanted to try a One UI Pie rom, which I did, I like the new user interface, hate the new camera. I put my feedback on One UI as a PS at the end.
I believe one of the ROMs i tried required me to update bootloader to Pie. Is there a way to downgrade to Oreo, so i can install Oreo ROMS? I tried 2 ROMs and i get a boot loop on both.
Thanks,
Daniel
PS: One UI feedback: Used to be able to take either video or picture one click away, now it's 2. You used to be able to bind the Bixby button to Camera+Take picture with BxButtons, and volume keys to video. No longer possible with Pie. You don't know how important that is untill you went to the mountains, and you need some phisical buttons to use with your gloves. And most important, adding the Dual Shot mod is no longer possible, which was taking the same picture or video with both front and back cameras, which is again verry important for me.

We need to know what your current "Build Number" is on the phone. You also can't downgrade to other bootloaders that are lower then your current one, so if you're on bootloader 5 you need to use the Oreo bootloader 5 version firmware or it will not work.

That's not a normal Samsung firmware.. Where are you from? Was that phone rooted or something? Considering that you have a different rom on the phone it looks like it's bootloader unlocked.. I'm assuming you're not from the USA and that your phone is a N950F correct?

He is asking for the "N950FXXS5CSA2" firmware to see what bootloader you are on. (Bootloader # is the 5th spot from the right. This case the "5" from "5CSA2" IS THE BL. Version)
Usually it's in about phone/software/ baseband if not there it should say in download mode (look for B: # (# could be 1 to 5)) few lines down I think.
If your on bl. Version 5 you can be able to flash any N950FXXS5..... firmware but not lower like N950FXXU4......

Hi, yes the bootloader is unlocked, I have a custom ROM, and my device is Rooted.
Baseband version N950FXXU5DSB1. So N950F, bootloader 5 I guess from what @BluePhnx said. Is there a direct connection between Bootloader 5 and android PIE? Or can Oreo ROMs be compatible with this bootloader?
Thank you for helping me clarify!

The only connection the bootloader plays is when you go from pie to oreo.
For eg. Oreo is N950FXXS5CSA2
Pie is N950FXXS5DSB2
As long as the bootloader is the same "5" you can go back and forth between pie and oreo.
BUT once you go to a, for eg. let say August security patch for pie, firmware with N950FXXU"6"DSB4 (this has bootloader version 6) then you can NOT go back to oreo. Because the bootloader won't downgrade itself, it will only stay at version 6 or go higher to version 7 and so on.
So if you want to go back make sure the bootloader stays at version 5....

See what @BluePhnx said? That's what I was trying to explain but he explained it better.. If you want to know what bootloader version you're on you do this see N950FXXU5DSB1 what you do is start at the very END and count backwards 5 letters/numbers and you end up on the number 5 like N950FXXU((5))DSB1 that equals bootloader version 5 but if you see something like this N950FXXU((6))DSB1 then it's bootloader 6 and if you were to flash that one you can never go back to bootloader 5 again it only goes forward but @BluePhnx explained it much better!

What is your CSC?
Warning I haven't done this yet since I'm staying on pie. So do it on your own risk! I'm just saying what other people done.. Also I would've done it myself too.
Download the last oreo firmware for your CSC. (The one before Pie.)
Download Odin 3.13.1 or the latest version on computer.
Flash Oreo and home-CSC
But if it doesn't work or you get lots of force closures messages then do this steps.
WARNING!!!! this will erase all data off phone so backup FIRST!
Factory reset phone
Flash OREO with CSC file (NOT the home-CSC)
(What I've read people are saying to do the factory reset option for it to work. I haven't tried it myself since I'm staying in pie. That's why I included the first option.)

The problem is most custom ROMs don't actually tell you the firmware code or bootloader version. And I only saw 1 ROM that actually told me that it will update the bootloader to PIE (without specifying the actual version). Do you have any pointers on what should I look for when installing a custom ROM to prevent upgrading bootloader (besides when the ROM actually specifies the Bootloader version of firmware code?

The rom should say what firmware it is based on. Like N950FXXU5DBS2. If not you can ask.
Eg. N950FXXU5DBSA2 - the "5" in ....5DBSA2 is the bootloader version.
You'll can check for your bootloader version in download mode.
Here is a screenshot: (not mine just an eg.)
But you should be able to flash back to an oreo bootloader as long as the bootloader version is the same.
Cannot open PIE after OTA upgrade last Friday.
After upgrade with previous release and security patch of 1st of January I checked somewhere last week and there was n upgrade then.
Last Friday I did see a new OTA update from Samsung and installed it, upgrading to PIE.
After restart I get an error with the SIM card slot. I have a dual SIM version in Spain PHE.
I am unable to use phone now.
Everything original. Only did the dual SIM + memory card. Which has been working perfect for me with OREO.
Which version would I need?
Did the official PIE update change the bootloader version as well?
I just need the double SIM and the memory.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No there isn't. That I know of.
Pie needs the pie bootloader.
I think the only way is to root your phone and have a dev port the pie firmware to work with the oreo bootloader. If possible!
But you "should" be able to flash the 1rst pie release firmware and then go back to the last oreo firmware with a factory reset. (Not certain though so. )

Hi, unfortunately my p10 drop on the floor from an high of 8 cm... Yes almost 4 in an the camera now has a strange yellow border. Of course this issue happens only on the color camera. The b/w camera works well.
The problem is that I have unlocked the bootloader. Can I do something to prepare the phone for rma?
I've the original oem info and of course the unlock code.
Thank you in advance
Maybe downgrade to nougat and then ota update to oreo will help. When I made debrand had unlocked bootloader and frp. Then did ota update to oreo and now have bootloader and frp properly locked.

What guide should I follow for this?
For debrand I used this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/how-to/huawei-p10-debrand-rebrand-update-guide-t3691013
but I was doing it on nougat and I am not sure how it works with downgrading from oreo to nougat.
If you are already on oreo (and C432 region) you could try to use this guide :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/how-to/guide-manual-updgrade-to-update-oreo-t3758286
tutorial 2 to flash the first full-ota oreo 8.0.0.360 from: http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database
but here is question to @Jannomag if it's certain that the script will work from newer to older oreo version. If so then try to use HiSuite to downgrade to nougat (for .360 it should be possible when hit firmware update -> switch to other version) and finally do the ota update to oreo. Be aware that I am not absolutely sure it will work, just suppose it should.

Downgrading to a lower version as Dec2018 security patches can be indeed a problem but this shouldn't cause a brick. The updated should fail flashing /kernel and /ramdisk from update files.

I tried to flash B365 oreo over B384 with tutorial 2, update started as usual then reached 100% and phone switched off totaly. Now looks like bricked, can't switch on, charging doesn't work, when connected to pc system shows unrecognized USB SER device. Is there any hope to unbrick it?
I have the same. Send to warranty and they fix this by replace the Motherboard. Now i can't unlock bootloader because no offical codes and DC unlocker not support newest security patch from Huawei. Otherwise Phone works fine and i have extra warranty to 2022 .
Is it possible to downgrade to older firmware? At the moment I have this years September patch. Without rooting or unlocking if possible.

Every few months samsung will update the bootloader along with the firmware. You can only downgrade to an older firmware so long as it has the same bootloader version as what you are currently running. Not possible to downgrade bootloader even with root unfortunately.

The bootloader version number is written in the firmware version. Go to sammobile and browse the firmwares for your phone model to compare.
Example:
The latest October firmware for my s10+ is G975FXXS9DTI8. The '9' before the DTI8 represents the bootloader.
Im currently on the September firmware which is G975FXXU8DTH7. The '8' before the DTH7 represents the bootloader.
So when I decide to update, there will be no going back.
Hope this helps
Hello, dear fellow 8i-Users!
I got this device just a few days ago. It is running on A32 global firmware and wasn't offered an OTA update.
So far, I have unlocked, rooted and installed TWRP, following the guide provided here.
As I like my phones to be encrypted, I guess I will stay with stock firmware so far. I'm finding it a bit sad though that I wasn't offered an OTA update and therefore am stuck with security patches dated back to November 2021.
Therefore my question: Does anyone happen to have decrypted versions of a newer version of global firmware? And if so: Is it possible to dirty flash these in TWRP?
Thank you!
Cheers,
VV

I doubt it will be possible to flash full ROM through TWRP unless you prepare extra files (like scripts which do the actual work).
Anyway you can decrypt the official firmware (the ones in OFP-format) by youself and flash it with SPFlashTool.
Here are few hints for you:
Download the version you like from here.
Decrypt it with oppo_decrypt
Merge super.img for the region you need (refer to super_map.csv to find out which parts need to be merged; refer to this comment for instructions)
Flash with SPFlashTool in Download Only mode (refer to this guide)
