Sadly no it needs to be done in recovery
Also, you need to do that actions with the phone not connected to anything via USB cable, not even charging, or else it would go into eRecovery(useful for updates), not normal Recovery.
Ive tried this method vol up and per button but it shows emu symbol then software install failed

Do you have a folder named "dload" in the root directory?

To get to the right menu to wipe the cache partition, I had to let go of the power button once I saw the Huawei symbol come up on the screen but still keep my finger on the volume up button until the menu displayed.

Dropped my phone to carpet, about 2 ft drop but now the accelerometer acts all funky, is there a way to calibrate it? or fix it?
Thanks
The suggested calibration for the accelerometer is to open an application that uses it, hold the phone in front of you and make kind of a figure 8 pattern with your wrist.
It has worked for me a few times but not because i've dropped it, it just gets "stuck" sometimes.
Hope that helps.
I had a similar issue where the accelerometer randomly stops working properly. I was about to call T-Mobile for a replacement phone but I tried doing a factory reset and it started working again.
A 2 ft drop to carpet probably didn't damage anything. How is it acting funky? If it's "stuck" you can smack it against the top of your hand.
It leans way to the right, I have tried bubble, labyrinth and pappijump, it's the same for all three apps
Thanks

I know this is what Nintendo recommends when Wii controllers are acting weirdly. Just smack the phone against your hand a few times (of course, try at your own risk). Can't get any worse.
I got same problem ,..just with the dif that the keybord to haz problems now.. i don get light on the keys (( any1 there that knows if i can fix it?
I had the problem where the accelerometer did not work at all anymore. A wipe helped, but since I did not want to lose all my data, I figured out, how to do it without wiping:
1. Do a backup of your data (nandroid is best)
2. Reboot your phone to recovery console (home+power)
3. Enter recovery console
4. mount /data
5. Delete *.dex in /data/dalvik-cache
6. Reboot and wait (reboot takes longer this time)
If this doesn't fix it for you:
All steps above apply, but in step 5 delete/move/rename the file /data/misc/akmd_set.txt (also in recovery console). It will be recreated. Can't tell you if this fixed it or not, because I did both things at the same time. Sorry ;-)
DON'T try this while NOT in the recovery console! You will lose space on the /data partition because of a bug!! ONLY do this in the recovery console where no system is running.
Thanks! The second one worked for me.

Can you post more in depth instuctions on doing this? Please?
I only tried this with a JF image. You definitely need root to do this.
1. Turn your phone off
2. Hold Home/House button and press red power button. Release red then home button
3. G1 should boot with lots of text into a menu
4. Press Alt+b to backup everything (optional)
5. Then Alt+x to boot into a console (press enter when prompted)
6. type "mount data" + enter
7. type "rm data/misc/akmd_set.txt" + enter
8. type "reboot" plus enter to reboot
9. Have fun with accelerometer again
More detailed than this is not possible. Hope this helps
That is more info than I needed but I'm sure if will help others, Thank you Dicer

appstosd
Hi,
What would be the command line for appstosd? I ve tried your instructions but I ve got nothing in data folder because of appstosd. Please help
For apps2sd you probably need to mount /system/sd and delete the file off there.
6. type "mount /system/sd" + enter
7. type "rm /system/sd/data/misc/akmd_set.txt" + enter
Haven't tried it though. Let us know if it works.
follow as above and yeah! working again...after trying for so long to recover....haha feel so good.....
mine stopped working and i wiped myphone and it worked again. =D
Is this a possiple way to fix the calibration issue on rosie? It aborts, so maybe it was looking is the wrong spot to rewrite the file
Hi all,
I have been using CM 6.1 Stable since it has been released and yesterday i decided to reinstall it. But when i tried to boot in clockwork recovery i was stuck in red triangle screen. I reflashed it trough the rom manager several times but there wasn't any result. Any ideas?
Press volume up + power. A new menu will appear - apply the update.zip and you'll reboot into recovery.

Now boot into recovery ( by turn the phone off. When its off press the back button (and hold it) and press on the same time. You will be in the fastboot. Now select bootloader and press power. Now select Recovery and press power),
Now press volUp and power at the same time. you will see a blue menu. Now select ''apply sdcard: update.zip'' and press power. You'r mobile will now go into clockworkmodrecovery.

Hi all
Now,I'm using Note 3 AT&T (N900A). When I am using Odin to go to Recovery, then press Fail Odin, then I can not turn it on. Now, I can not use any buttons on the machine. When I press the Power button, the machine does not vibrate. The screen is dark. Anyone can help me? Thanks so much!!
P/s: sorry about my English.
Follow instructions word for word, take your time and go slow
1.Download the (alreadykitkat.zip) if you haven't done so yet.
2. Extract it to somewhere on your desktop or PC
3.Copy “Safestrap-Custom.apk” to your phones internal memory, and install it. Make sure you install recovery from within safestrap app, or verify that it is installed
4.Next copy the rom to your phones internal memory(it’s called XNote Port.zip)
5.Boot into download mode (power off, then hold-Volume down, Home and power button at same time
6.Open the “Togetsafestrap” folder and open Odin (win 7 and 8 users may need to run with administrator rights). Add the correct partition Files,
Make sure the files or AP_N900AUCUBMJ5.tar.md5 and BL_N900AUCUBMJ5.tar.md5 and verify your Odin window looks like this picture
7.Click start. Now when the phone is booting up make sure to click “recovery” on the safestrap screen.
(If you missed it just hold down, power button until phone reboots)
8. You can wipe before flashing (Optional) if you want a clean install. Flash the X-Note Port.zip to Stock slot,
But don’t reboot when done,
9. Keep hitting the back button until you see the reboot menu button
Press reboot menu button and select download mode button. Or if you messed up and rebooted just Press Volume down, Home and power button at same time until your back in download mode.
10. Now open the folder “togetbooting” and open Odin. Select the correct partition Files, Make sure you select AP_N900AUCECMGL.tar and BL_N900AUCECMGL.tar and verify your Odin window looks like this picture
11. Click start
done, enjoy the ROM

You can perform a forced update. Just create a folder called dload on your SD card.
Then copy the firmware to the folder, turn off your phone and hold down all three buttons of your phone (power, vol+, vol-)
Wow

Hi all:
Here is a TWRP recovery 3.7.0 for XPeria Z5 compact (suzuran).
Download 2022-12-23
This is a 7z archive with the TWRP image and the md5 file in it. Please unpack this archive. The md5 file is only for control purposes to verify that the download is not broken.
To verify the image file, enter this command line in a terminal window:
Code:
md5sum <image_name>
and compare the output with the content of the <image_name>.md5 file.
FYI: <image_name> is the full name of the image file, for example TWRP_3.7.0_9-0-recovery_suzuran_2022-12-23.img
This version uses a prebuilt kernel, therefore are no kernel sources needed.
Tree sources
Installation instructions:
Shutdown your device.
Wait about 10 seconds to be sure that the device is really shut down.
Press Volume-up, hold the button and then plug in the USB-Cable.
Release the button.
Wait until the LED turns blue.
Enter this code line in a terminal window:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery <image_name>
Press Enter.
When finished: Unplug the USB cable.
To enter TWRP press Volume-down and Power simultaneously.
Use this recovery image at your own risk! It comes without any warranty! I'm not responsible for any damage! If you don't agree with that, don't try to flash this recovery image in any way.
Thanks berni, its great project.
Also, this twrp can install without pc by using "Official TWRP App" in Play Store.
For install, open that app and give root permission and tap TWRP FLASH. after that, pass the device (our device isnt in list) just tap select a file to flash and select twrp img file.
After select, tap FILE TO FLASH and enjoy.
Works:
+Backup.
+Restore
+mount (all is works)
+unmount
+Wipe.
+Flash rom.
+Battery Percentage (need to wait a bit)
+terminal
+file manager (show, remove, create)
Doesnt Works:
-CPU temperature (shows 0 degree)
Maybe Bug:
?in reboot menu, there isnt "recovery"
?in reboot menu, there are system, power off but that 2 sector's icons are "file directory"

There must be a logic behind this. I'm not familiar enough with TWRP (and I also don't have enough time) to fix that.

FYI: This is not a bug, it's a feature. In future versions some buttons will be replaced with this list style. I had to revert a commit to restore the button style.
But I'm quite sure that this will not work in the future any more.
I hardly dare to ask: in this TWRP, is decryption of /data working?
No worries; you can ask.
No, encryption is not working. This seems to be a general problem that seems not to be solvable! I'm sorry.
New version out; see 1st post.
I've tried to implement encryption but since I'm not using it I can't test it.
Please report, if it's working or not.

I have button in extended shutdown menu, but it didnt work, BUT the hint from TRKARTAL did : "adb reboot bootloader"
Anyway, Berni, or others, I would very appreciate further effort to get the En/decrytion working. I would even donate something therefore
Because it is essential to avoid a lot of manual backup/restoring of data when trying / upgrading another (newer) ROM version.

We have tried a lot to get it working, but unfortunately until now without any success!
Of course, I meant the extended shutdown menu of the lineage OS.
In this TWRP there is not such feature, but I have seen it on other devices, like TWRP for Z3 Tablet.
Keep on trying, pls!
