Hello all.
I installed some icon packs from Galaxy store, didn't really like them and I want to use the stock icon pack. There is no obvious way of restoring them. I tried clearing cache and data from Home UI app. Deleting all other icon packs.
I know I can install some 3rd party launcher and get them that way, but there has to be a way to restore to original?
Obvious step would be to factory reset, but that seems little bit too much.
Any advice?
Many thanks.
Edit:
eeeeeerrrrrr..........After looking for 2 days...Just I wrote here I found that if I pull down on home screen on Galaxy store, I can see all installed icon pack and as well the stock one....
Hope this helps someone...

Hey guys,
My dialer shortcut icon at the bottom of the screen to the left of the drawer and web browser button is no longer working. The icon has been replaced with the white and green Android icon that looks very similar to the Market icon. When I click it, it says, "Application is not installed on your phone." I can access the dialer if I put a Contacts icon on my desktop.
How can I fix this problem?
Has anyone encountered this problem? I went into stock recovery mode and I cleared the cache but the dialer icon still does not work.

Will it launch from the app tray? And are you using the stock launcher or a custom one?
I've found every time a built-in app updates I have to remove it from ADW and put it back or it doesn't work. Google Maps, Google Voice... I think those are the two I've noticed it on but pretty sure it's anything that's in the ROM. Maybe that's the issue.
Khaytsus,
Thanks for the response. You were right on the money. It was my ADW Launcher that I installed. The uninstalled and reinstalled ADW and it works perfectly now. Thank you.

erm.. You would not have to reinstall ADW to fix that, just replace the shortcut in ADW, but okay, glad it's fixed
Hi guys, I was hoping maybe one if you had dealt with this before.
I can't add widgets to my homescreen (Aviate, KitKat+). Clicking the add widget button simply results in com.settings.android crashing.
Widgets however work fine on the stock TW Launcher and Nova Launcher, since both use their own built-in widget lists instead of the built in one.
I was thinking maybe deleting cache would be the way to go, but I want to try to avoid setting up all of my apps again. Can I delete just setting's cache? Would that work in the first place? Is there anything else I can try?
Thanks guys.
Deleting the cache of an app won't delete any of its settings, so you're good to go.
Only your wallpaper might be reset when you clear the launcher's cache.

I flushed AOSB on my SC03E and it's really beautiful, but after installing GAPPS, I got the launcher name changed to google, got camera icon changed to a very ugly one and the dial screen may have been changed.
So is there a way to recover to AOSB default icons and launchers?

probably when installing the gapps you have chosen google launcher as your standard launcher or it did so automatically. what you need to do is change the standard launcher to the one when you didnt had installed the gapps yet, that should bring back the UI look you want. you can of course also download some other launcher like nova or apex etc. and use that as standard launcher, with these launchers you can also install other icon packs and change the icons to whatever you like

Wow I thought I had replied this thread the day before yesterday but I can't find it now.
Thanks so much for your detailed reply @MaHo_66
All the problems were caused by the not property(sorry for my bad English..) GAPPS package.
If I don't want google camera or google launcher, GAPPS minimal or core or min is the best choice.
While disabling google launcher, I removed google search and the google launcher was gone.... so I got no launcher except a very old bad one which I installed just for fun. So I re-flush the device and install GAPPS min.
Everything goes well except for some mic volume problems.
I'll post another thread about that.
Well, the text above was to post yesterday... I made some change and hope it will not confuse you.
Hi All, this might be a dumb question but: If I install Nova, do I have to delete everything that came stock on the Sony launcher, like Movies, PlanyStation etc...all of the icons, widgets, etc... or do I leave them and just start new with Nova? Does that make sense? I just dont want to switch to Nova and all these widgets, icons etc from Sony still 'running' somewhere in the background. Thanks!

hahaaha a second me!
I was wondering the same thing, just for the sake of it I always remove all the icons that are on the stock launcher. Because if you think of it, it's not as if you turn the other launcher off, you're just using another one. And the difference probably won't be amazing, but it could count towards a better battery life lol. Or maybe we're just paranoid :silly::silly::good:
Thanks, ill do the same and remove them off Sony...no reason to have them out there
You don't have to remove anything from stock launcher. It won't run in the background. You can setup how many different launchers you want and switch between without that effecting battery.
Launchers like Nova don't mess with apps at all. They simply create a new skin -- a new way of seeing and accessing what's already on the phone. All the same Sony apps will still be there in the app drawer and they'll behave in exactly the same way as they would if you were using the Xperia Launcher or any other launcher (although Nova might change some of the icons for system apps like dialer, messaging, settings etc.). And if you uninstall apps through Nova they're uninstalled from the phone, period. So they will not be there even if you revert back to the Xperia Launcher.

Great info, ty!
Is there a way to get an icon pack on the stock launcher without root?..
I love the stock launcher and the others just aren't the same for me, ive tried action launcher and lawn chair.. haven't used Nova in years but I was never a fan to begin with. I bought a pixel to have the true Google experience... The only problem is some 3rd party apps don't have round icons. They do that thing where they shrink a square icon and shove it in a circle and it drives me insane... There is a pretty good pixel icon pack called pixel pie or something along those lines and the dev will actually make the icons you want. I'd love to be able to find a way to apply these to the stock launcher, any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Check the 2nd post of my thread in Themes and Apps Section, root is needed however
