Xiaomi redmi note 8 pro or xiaomi mi cc9 (9 lite) - Xiaomi Mi CC9 / Mi 9 Lite Questions & Answers

Hello all !
I need some help!
I'm in need of a new phone and came to the conclusion I wanted a Xiaomi. After watching some video's I came to the conclusion I wanted the Mi CC9 (Mi 9 Lite) so I've just ordered the 64gb variant.
After doing some further research I've discovered I could've got a Redmi Note 8 Pro for only £8 more.
Do you think I should cancel my order and get the Note 8 Pro? The dust and splash resistant is something I could really do with as I hate the fear of potential water damage from rain.
Also even though the Note 8 Pro features a 4500 maH battery and the Mi 9 Lite only has a 4030 maH battery which do you think will last longer? Considering it has a bigger screen and a more demanding processor do you think that the 9 Lite battery will still be better?

Note 8 pro. CC9 doesn't have support for google cameras ( buffer 3 )

The note 8 pro has got a Mediathek processor which have (at least it's predecessors) been known for overheating and poor efficiency (mostly noticable when used very heavily). Some tests say the same but it's up to you if you believe them. Considering the screen size and amoled technology as well as the more efficient processor I'd actually think that the cc9 (mi 9 lite) has better battery life.
I've actually ordered the mi 9 lite which will arrive in around 2-3 weeks. Then I'll be able to give further information. The reason I've gotten the mi 9 lite instead of the 8 pro are:
1. Screen size (didn't want such a big screen)
2. Amoled display
3. In display fingerprint sensor
4. Snapdragon processor
5. Battery life on both phones will definitely get me through the day so that wasn't really anything I've kept in mind whilst deciding
Hope this helps

Good question!
I'm not really knowledgeable yet, but I have read somewhere that the Mediatek processor ( Note 8 pro ) doesn't have much support for custom Roms.
Once the development of LineageOS for the Mi 9 lite has started seriously, I would love to get one.

Or it is best to wait for a bit......

If you want to get the Mi 9 then just a direct spec comparison is enough without asking someone who's upgraded, you're gaining better screen protector, smaller notch, better SOC, better GPU, better camera, faster charging, wireless charging... No brainer imo
Good morning and thanks for the answers! Is the camera rly better without ois??

I'm assuming there might be a Mi 9s with ois and larger battery. The Mi 9 will have poor quality in low light photos
Got an Mi 8 blue 128 gb from Amazon WHD Like New for just 320 Euro. Wouldn't upgrade to the Mi 9 bc it is about 150 euro more expensive. Also a problem would be the missing OIS. Especially in Low Light situations. Nope, Mi 8 is still a great device. Btw: the Mi 9 is having a double higher SAR value which I personally care about a lot! 1,4 vs. 0,7.

From the FCC's website:
"ALL cell phones must meet the FCC’s RF exposure standard, which is set at a level well below that at which laboratory testing indicates, and medical and biological experts generally agree, adverse health effects could OCCUR."
Also, bigger OEM's such as Samsung also have devices with high SAR values, pretty sure the S10 or S10+ is 1.5

MI 9 or Mi 9T Pro

I have to buy a new phone and have to choose between the Mi 9 of the Mi 9t pro. I prefer the 9t pro but red that they have stopped producing it, my question is: wil the mi 9t pro receive updates as long as the mi 9 or not ?

Actually, I think both are out of production.
Remember that Mi9 T Pro has been presented 6 months later Mi9, so Mi9 is the older one.
I have a Mi9, it's a good device, snapdragon 855 is super fast and every app work fine.
If I should buy a device today, I would go with the Mi9 T Pro, here are the main big advantages:
Newer
Bigger battery (4000 vs 3300)
Popup camera (Mi9 has a notch on the screen)
And about updates yes, quite similar.
Both are on MIUI 11 and will receive MIUI 12 in the next months. So, no difference.

And , better battery life too
none of them, go for the Mi 9 Pro 5G if you can find it...have many pro's over Mi9 and even more than Mi9T Pro.
Mi9 Pro 5G is a Mi9 with bigger battery and 5G, with the same wireless charging and IR blaster and AMOLED like Mi9, is a improved Mi9, if i know today i go for Mi9 PRo 5G and not Mi9 only because battery is gettin short, like 5/6h SoT after 9 months.
Hi.
I had Mi 9t pro and I switch to Mi 9.
Reasons Mi 9 has wireless charging, better set of camera. Wide camera has autofous. Very rare feature, awesome for macro photos. Better telephoto camera.
Worst battery, missing jack 3.5 (I do not care).
But because of smaller battery it has lower weight. 9TPro is little bit heavy.
Pop up camera on Mi 9t pro is good for uninterrupted display, but it is not so good for face recognition.
I do care for cameras and I really like wireless charging. So for me Mi 9 is better chooice
You can go for Mi 9 Pro instead. It's essentially Mi 9 with SD855+ and 700mAh bigger battery, the rest of the specs are similar if not the same.
The Mi 9T has a larger developer community.
I unlock using face detection, with mi9t pro that feature would be too slow/not practical

General I already regret buying redmi note 9

This phone seems so much better for a better or the same price or lower price
108MP an AMOLED display 120hz even the phone looks much better especially the camera module

Fortunately, I keep thinking that I'll go for either Redmi Note 9 Pro or POCO X3 NFC from last months. But thanks for my "patience skill" so I could save my money to consider this phone.
Edit: Fixing some typos.

i'll probably upgrade in 2 or 3 years to the newest redmi phone if they keep getting out phones like this
this phone is absolutely amazing for the price hopefully redmi note 11 will also be the same if not even better
also poco x3 users are absolutely SEETHING
Using redmi note 7 from 2019, was looking for a good option for upgrade. I guess I got the perfect one, Redmi Note 10 Pro.

I wouldn't say many poco x3 are seething. spec wise is practically the same except the AMOLED and camera. I'm happy with good panel LCD screen on the x3- won't need to worry about burn-in/bleed if one is a heavy gamer. x3 is still one beast of a phone for the price!
Well Redmi Note 10 Pro (Global) and Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite (Global) are the two phones I'm looking for which for the 6/128 GB variant seem to cost just about the same (~265 €). My focus is on:
DualSIM, dedicated microSD, good stabilized video 1080p and possibly also 4k, very good day and ok night pictures, fast cpu/gpu (Antutu over 250k), Fast LTE with Bands 3,20,7,1,32 (8,38,28a), 3.5mm-Jack.
Both devices have those features. Unfortunately no Snapdragon 8 series devices with dedicated microSD and 3.5mm-Jack exist, so I need to stick to this lower mid-range class.
Redmi Note 10 Pro real advantage of 108 Mpx Samsung5K HM2 f/1.9 over 64 Mpx Sony IMX682 Exmor RS f/1.89 needs to be proven by side by side dedicated picture and video test. With GCam probably because of the slightly better processor in the Mi 10T Lite (Snapdragon 750G) it seems possible to activate EIS for 4k Videos. With Snapdragon 732G this seems unlikely to be possible. Also Mi 10T Lite has 3 of the 4 important 5G Bands in my area, could not find info that a Note 10 Pro Snapdragon Upgrade to 5G will be released (Global, the Note 10 5G is based on MediaTek).
So the advantages of Note 10 Pro (AMOLED, 108 Mpx, Radio FM) currently seem less important then those of Mi 10T Lite. I will wait until detailed camera comparisons are available, possibly with GCam for both devices.
EDIT: I need to correct that Mi 10T Lite (Global) according to several reviews on YouTube has no dedicated microSD (only hybrid DualSIM). Many techsheets online seem to have dedicated. This is a bummer and will leave only Redmi Note 10 Pro (Global) as candidate for my next buy.
5x optical zoom would have sold me, guess ill have to wait for another phone

Been using xiaomi devices since redmi 2 prime, their phones are either hit or miss. Sometimes they absolutely cheap out on hardware. My current redmi note 7 has a LCD panel and it shows signs of screen burn. These manufacturers are pumping out phones without worrying about quality and overall experience.

i had the lg v20 and it was supposedly a "flagship lg phone" but it was just a mess the two screen design didn't look at all and there was a lot of burn in
i didn't even know LCD panels can get burn in until i got that phone
Thing is the redmi note 9 variants have good, stable roms by now but it took months and months to get there, which was an exercise in frustration I'm not going to go through again, so I'm perfectly fine with my 9s and will get this one once/if there are solid roms available with all bugs squashed. Not interested in smelly Mi Ui.

The first stable (GSI) ROM was from sooti. Other non GSI ROMs weren't maintained long before you had to switch to another ROM. That's a pain.
I hope the Redmi Note 10 Pro or newer Poco phones will get better community support.

accubattery show me the capacity at 2000mah i cant find where is the problem with those new batteries
i ordered this new note 10 pro and i hope it will be a good choice
if not i will never buy xiaomi phones again
Need to rant again: I do not understand why in every series and also other brands with a better CPU (Snapdragon 8 series) they omit the microSD slot (not even shared) and in most cases also the 3.5mm-Jack. Is Google enforcing this?
The Redmi Note 10 Pro with Snapdragon 888 (865 also ok) and maybe better RAM specs would be awesome.
Don't worry. Exchange it with note 9 pro, you'll get a wholesome discount of 100$ or 9000₹.

Yeah, but why has it more interfaces-expansion-ports/connectivity then Xiaomi top phones? I would pay more and think the CPU, microSD slot and Jack alone would not make the phone much more expensive (like 600 $ or more). At least Redmi K40 Pro with Snapdragon 888 does cost only ca. 460 $ but has no microSD slot and no 3.5mm-Jack. Since everyone, not only Xiaomi, is doing it I do not understand it: why not use the integration of those two features as advantage to the competition? There must be some hidden policy behind this IMHO
Hah: It almost seems Xiaomi did use the strategy I wanted at least for the Poco X3 Pro (PX3P) presented yesterday! It has a shared/hybrid microSD slot and 3.5mm-Jack paired with a Snapdragon 860 - Antutu ~486k. By comparison the Snapdragon 732G in the Redmi Note 10 Pro (RN10P) has Antutu ~288k - Snapdragon 865 has Antutu ~615k and Snapdragon 888 has Antutu ~730k - so not top flagship performance but solid medium/premium territory, while the Snapdragon 732G now seems more budget level: even the Snapdragon 678 in the Redmi Note 10 (available for under 200$) delivers Antutu ~277k.
In addition PX3P has the advantage of UFS Storage 3.1 against UFS Storage 2.2 in RN10P. But it lacks FM Radio, AMOLED and also has no 5G. The "better" POCO F3 also presented yesterday by comparison is a rebranded Redmi K40 Pro (for Global) with Snapdragon 870 and 5G but no microSD (some sheets say it has Independent SD slot) and no 3.5mm-Jack and also good prices. The Poco F2 Pro at least has the 3.5mm-Jack.
Of course the camera in the PX3P seems disadvantaged with 48MP, f/1.79 IMX582 Exmor for the main lense, but fast CPU and memory are attractive for fast video editing etc. I will try to compare reviews with a focus on 4k EIS and 1080p EIS Video.
It's crazy how Xiaomi is coming up with these phones. Xiaomi is just competing with itself for 350USD and below phones right now

I agree. Some small competitors like Realme and Vivo try to deliver similar price/performance, but because much less models will be selled, much lower community support regarding GCam, CustomROMs (like Xiaomi.eu/mi-globe, AOSP/LOS based, etc.) will be available and so in my case much less attractive at similar price.
OnePlus has left this price territory and other interesting devices from Asus, Google, Samsung, Motorola just miss features and/or cost too much in comparison.
The thing I would like to see on sub 350$ Xiaomi phones is OIS (optical image stabilization) paired with gyroscope EIS stabilization to get top notch videos at 1080p or even 4k and at the same time less shaky/blurry images. But it seems Megapixel of the sensor are the stronger (selling) argument for the time being. In my case a top quality 12-18 Megapixel image is more then enough, I dislike the washed out details at zoom 1:1 of Smartphone best resolution pics on a Monitor screen.

Question Redmi Note 10 Pro

Hello everyone Should I consider buying the RN10 PRO now after 9 months of release or am I too late? the phone basically ticks the boxes for the things I want but does it have ads? or camera has become downgrade? Or battery problems? Or Should I get a 5g phone but here it is expected at least 2 years or even more. But what should I do https://showbox.tools/ https://speedtest.vet/
Edit Also I don't change phones much so this phone good for long-term like 2-3 years from now?

it's a value for money device . if gaming is not priority go for it
If 5G is not your priority, this is the best device in this price segment. I bought this phone 18 days ago, initially I was skeptical because of the 5G dilemma as 5G is not yet here in my country. Plus this device was 10 months old. But finally decided to go for a 4G phone.
Or you can go for Redmi Note 11 series if you want 5G. Most 5G phones in this price segment have a lot of cost cutting tho.
Redmi note 10 pro is a good phone. But at the same price, you can get Realme 8s 5G. Only you have to compromise with the display.

is it worth moving from Redmi Note 10 pro to Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro

Hello guys
I don't know why this phone wasn't in my radar when I purchased the Redmi Note 10 pro maybe I was very obsessed with budget deal and 120hz but frankly after 1 year of usage I start disliking this phone I rarely use the selfie camera and I am on 60hz most of the time to save battery also the phone is a bit big for my hand and pocket.
I found the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro to have a similar offering in addition to headphone jack, but do you think it's wise to switch from 2021 phone to 2019 ? taking into consider that my phone also lose like 100 euros in value already.
