Hello xda forum, can i root my Wiko View XL phone with Magisk? I have android 7.1.2 and i will root because i will saving my delete photos and optimze the Phone
Hi there and welcome to XDA.
Unfortunately I have no idea if you can root this device. It kind of depends on how it follows Android standards and other variables... It's also very hard to say if rooting would be able to help you with what you want.
A good place to start is the Magisk release thread, where @topjohnwu keeps important links to documentation, instructions, downloads, etc. One important link for you would be the installation instructions.
Good luck.
Edit: of course, if you have further questions don't hesitate to ask. But also remember that most things have likely already been covered and you can search both XDA and the great interweb for information.
Magisk
I dont understand so good what i should doing first the magisk installer on PC or the Magisk on the Phone
and works this for wiko view xl

I installed xposed on a Blu Pure XL and had no issues. I have a friends new Blu Vivo Xl and am looking to install it on his. I have read through threads that are dated Feb of 2016 and can't find any new information on it.
Most of the installs here have a ton of steps you need to take and in most threads nothing but issues from users. Threads with explanations. Then users issues. Then the thread just dies. Is there a thread or link somewhere listing a new method that is sure to work... ANYWHERE ???? Rattling my brain here visiting 30 different sites and videos just trying to get a working method. I am looking to install xposed and mock mock locations. That's all.
Maybe this phone is just to new..
Thanks.

Hi,
I have Xiaomi Mi6 with official LineageOS 15.1 installed. Unfortunately, I can't install Magisk. When I install the zip package I get "cannot mount /vendor" and "error 1". When I patch boot.img I get a bootloop. I tried different Magisk versions and I also tried installing with SuperSU enabled and disabled and I always get the same result Can someone help me?
Welcome to XDA.
Since you seem new, I'm going to give you a tip. XDA has a pretty good search function. You can search generally throughout XDA, in specific forums, or even in a specific thread.
Usually you'll find a search box at the top of the forum or thread you're in, or you can use the search box that is always present in the top right corner of XDA.
Here's a search that I made in the Magisk forum, searching for your specific issue (cannot mount vendor):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/search/forum/5903?query=cannot mount vendor
There you'll find a few post pertaining to your issue. If you look through them you'll find that there's a bunch of reports like this for Xiaomi devices. Usually fixed by using a Treble compatible TWRP. There's more info if you look through the posts.
First rule of XDA is: search before you post. Most of the time, someone else have had the same issue you have.
Have fun!

Thanks for help A Treble supported TWRP actually solved the problem, thought it was quite difficult to find. Here's a download if someone has the same problem

Had to use this recovery AS WELL AS a special Magisk made for treble devices (or else bootloop). Apparently it will be integrated into the next version of the official Magisk.
Thanks

Hey guys i'm new to XDA honestly and i wanna root my accent speed X2
is Magisk any useful
Otherwise Is there any method to root it beside kingroot because it seem to not work
Thanks in advance
Welcome to XDA.
There's not a lot of information to be found for that device, but if it's anything close to stock Android you should be able to use one of the two installation methods, as documented here:
https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html
If you run into any kind of trouble along the way, you might be able to find some information here:
https://www.didgeridoohan.com/magisk
If you need further info on other details, both the XDA search feature and your search engine if choice are great tools, as most things probably have been covered before. Of course, if you can't get things up and running, asking for help on the forums is always an option. Just make sure to ask in the right places so you don't postout of topic. For general Android stuff there are several forums available, as an example:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help
Good luck.
Thank you didgeridoohan for help you know that i'm new and don't know proper places to ask for anything tho imma go post a thread in the right place Thank you very much
No worries. If you have Magisk questions you are of course always welcome to post here in the Magisk forum.
And please do share if you get things running.
I have flash magisk with twrp (J610F)
But my phone still doesn't have root
Hello and welcome to XDA.
This is a place with lots of information and resources, so the first thing to do should always be to search. But since there's so much information, finding what you want can sometimes be a challenge...
If you do need to ask for help, it matters how you ask. Providing as much details as possible is usually a good idea. And if possible, logs. Take a look here:
https://didgeridoohan.com/magisk/MagiskHelp
A good idea when trying to figure things out is to visit your device's forum:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j6+
There you can usually find guides on things like rooting Thar applies to your specific device (if there are extra things that need to be done).
I did a quick search and found this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ecovery-twrp-3-2-3-1-galaxy-j6-j610f-t3875150
In there, you'll find this little tidbit of information:
Due to some new securities in Samsung's latest Pie kernels, root will not work with the stock kernel. The patched kernel below is required to gain root on Pie.

So, extra stuff seems to be necessary for your device...
Hope you get things working, and don't hesitate to ask for help if you get stuck somewhere. But make sure to be detailed. Good luck.
Cheers

Hi, I'm Vaneyen, from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I have lots of Andriod devices, and have meddled with rooting a little bit, but am not yet entirely comfortable with risking the brick. However, I am deeply interested in Hacking, which simply means "making My devices work the way I want them to." I have (with the help of Youtube bloggers) hacked Keurig coffee machines, so now it's time to get my Android devices working the way I want them to!
Hi Vaneyen and welcome to XDA! You came with experience to the right place for modding, flashing, development, etc.!
Cheers

Thank you, galaxys.
I have an Android TV box I'm looking to root, but I'm unclear of one thing. I've learned (thank you 3mel!) that the process will likely involve:
1) unlocking the bootloader (if needed),
2) flashing the correct TWRP recovery (for that series of boxes),
3) flashing magisk 21.4 in TWRP and
4) installing magisk apk.
Is there a tutorial on the site aimed at guiding someone through the process of determining the correct process for each of these steps? I've learned that my box in question has an Amlogic p212, but is that enough to go on?
Thanks for the welcome!

First post in the correct forum...
Seems like you posted good details in June in those forums.
You can bump your last post there and maybe someone will respond. Any of tutorial should be specific to your device if one exists....
I wonder if it is possible to install root rights on Apple hardware.

Good question, but I have no idea where to ask it. You may get good results if you google "how to root ios iphone" - I just did, and there are a few promising hits in there.
