WiFi tether connection problems - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I can use the wireless tether while wireless charging, but not for all devices. Other phones can connect, but when I tried to get my car android head unit to connect, the connection is not stable. Even when it is connected, it says no Internet. I've tried other phones simultaneously, and the WiFi works. I assume that the tablet WiFi connection is not working properly. However, it can connect to my home WiFi and even work place WiFi properly. Does anyone have any ideas why it does not work well with the note 9? I have tried to forget network, modify password. It works like few seconds and stops working even though connected.

internet connection sharing

has anyone tried internet connection sharing via HSPDA to a PC using activesync or bluetooth yet? any issues?
I use USB/ActiveSync and it works fine.
Just follow the manual. I followed it and got no problem.
One thing though, in the manual, it said "execute 3gnetopt.exe in the PC to optimize it for 3G connection".
It seems, after that it changed the routing automatically and can slow down your internet connection when not using the ICC via PDA.
Well, that's easy, just disable the "additional" network interface in the PC.
i could get the usb internet sharing to work but bluetooth internet sharing doesnt work. my pc is able to detect a local bluetooth pan network without internet access. anyone got their bluetooth/internet to work?
I have internet sharing working via bluetooth on a tablet and laptop (both running XP). First I tried DUN and it worked which suprised me. Then I set up a PAN connection and got Internet sharing running. After that DUN will no longer work, it looks like it trys but then fails. But Internet Sharing is faster and works fine over bluetooth.
It can be tedious at first, you need to create a BT PAN Connection on the PC, you need to create a BT partnership with the Kaiser in your Bluetooth manager on the PC. You need to set the Kaiser's Internet sharing to "Bluetooth PAN" and have the Network connection set to go to your ISP's GPRS internet AP.
Once I have PAN setup on the PC, it's showing "Network Cable Unplugged"
I then Start the Kaiser's Internet Sharing and press connect, it starts a GPRS connection.
I then open the Bluetooth Manager on the PC, select the Kaiser's Connection Icon, right click and select connect.
Then the two devices connect and I'm off and running.
With 3G I have been able to answer calls and talk on my Jawbone BT headset while still connected to the PC via BT as well, pretty much MAGIC
bluetooth still cant work with those instructions, i'll just stick to USB for now.
how do I ensure that HSPDA is working and its not just 3G?
My 3G icon changes to H when it connects hi-Speed. I'm wondering what Bluetooth Stack your PC has, I had issues with my tablet and Hermes until I got new BT Drivers from Fujitsu support. Your PC may need updated BT profiles? My laptop is Dell (uses a Toshiba BT Stack), the tablet is Fujitsu (also Toshiba BT Stack). Just a thought.
On the Plus side, using a USB cable will keep the phone charged, which is good because HSPDA is a power hog anyway.
i'm using a bluetooth dongle with my PC running vista
Both USB and BT ICS work great for me. I've used it on Edge, 3G, and HSDPA.

Internet sharing only working on 2G and not 3G
I am connected right now via internet sharing using my USB cable. However, this is working only if I have a 2G signal showing on my tytnII. When I am in a 3G location, the internet sharing program sits with the message "waiting for network"....this is just after the message "checking USB cable".
I have tried many things including a hard-reset, not having a full sync relationship between the PC, just connected etc. All to no avail.
I am using a new Dell laptop running Vista Ultimate.
Unlike previous PDAs I've had, I don't know a way to force the tytn II to stay on 2G, so when I am at work in a 3G environment, I cannot get internet sharing to work.
Help!

Bluetooth tethering with my phone.

I'm running the latest cm9 nightly, and I'd like to tether my touchpad to my nexus s using Bluetooth. I know I can use a WiFi hotspot, but Bluetooth tethering is way better for battery life on my phone.
I paired the devices, and the only configuration option for the connection is "Internet Connection Sharing". The devices connect just fine, the notification Bluetooth symbol is blue on both devices (indicating that they are connected), and the phone has the notification icon indicating that Bluetooth tethering is active.
The problem is, the touchpad always says it has no internet connection, and no apps have internet access.
When I end the Bluetooth connection, the Touchpad reboots.
Is it possible to do Bluetooth tethering with the touchpad, and if so, how do I do it?

I think I may have solved it. I had flashed a new kernel on my phone this morning that apparently didn't like my Bluetooth. I got in my car and the same thing happened with my head unit. It said connected, but nothing was working. I restored my nandroid and Bluetooth was working again in the car. I haven't had a chance to check the touchpad yet.

Wifi Hotspot issue

Hi all,
I am having problems with Wifi Portable Hotspot on my phone. I turn the Portable Hotspot on and it seems to work. However, after connecting to the hotspot with my laptop or iPad, there is no internet connection despite being "connected".
Pretty sure my carrier does not ban tethering, since USB and Bluetooth tethering works fine. Any suggestions?
Edit: Fixed. Turns out one of the mods for Xperia Z is not fully compatible with this phone.

Bluetooth internet tethering from iphone to android car

Tried posting this question to MTCD-discussion folder but the system didn't let me (moderators please move it there if you consider)
Has anybody managed to get the internet on the android auto (in my case a MTCD) through bluetooth tether (maybe with an app?) Reason why I want to do this, is because I want it to happen automatically, but iOS (as my phone is Iphone) is broadcasting the personal hotspot SSID only for a limited time. This means every time I get in the car I have to stop and restart personal hotspot.
On my Joying MTCD-device there is no option in the WIFI-menu of "connect to network even if SSID not broadcasted", and no option in the bluetooth menu for bluetooth tethering.
Thanks in advance,
Mike
Tethering over Bluetooth is not possible with these units as far as I know.
But try the following:
1. From the iPhone turn your Personal Hotspot off.
2. From your car's Android find your iPhone's hotspot and make it forget it.
3. Now go to the bottom of the list, choose "Add Network" and type your iPhone's SSID and passcode manually.
4. Hit Connect and turn on your Personal Hotspot.
Now the car unit thinks that this is a hotspot with a hidden SSID, so it will not look for a broadcast.

Hi! Tried this, doesn't work! It still connects only after i turn the hotspot on (when ssid is broadcasted)...
Yes, I just tried this with my iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 9.3.3. It looks like iPhone's Personal Hotspot doens't just stop broadcasting the SSID after a while. It turns off the hotspot completely! I tried to connect to it with my PC the way I would connect to a hidden network - no luck either. So there is nothing that can be done, because the problem is the iPhone.
The approach I described above works for hidden networks, but obviously it cannot work for non-exiting ones.

Thanks for your reply, CVT! Must be this problem, indeed. I assumed that it is still on, as actually the togglebutton is still on, but it seems I was wrong.
HTC One M7 CM13.0 (no sim/data) running Android Auto, connected to Honda Accord 2016 all times - soon as car starts android auto starts, using Bluetooth Tether Manager app to auto connect to Iphone hotspot
Iphone 6S IOS10 Beta3 (data) bluetooth hotspot.
Car starts, turns on bluetooth on android phone, android auto starts, then tether app connects to my iphones bluetooth tether.
The bluetooth tether manager app says not connected, but the bluetooth in the menu shows connected to my iphone.
I think this is what you are trying to do as well. If you can bluetooth tether to your iphone, this might work with your unit.
Does simply plugging an iPhone into one of the usbs for tethering Work?.
It does not
