Hello guys!
I'm having some trouble with my HTC Touch Diamond. I am running the latest ROM, and the phone has worked perfectly since I've got it!
But one day it suddenly powered itself of during a phonecall and I was not able to power it on again. I removed the battery, put it in again, didn't work. Took out the battery and waited for almost 30 minutes, tried again and now it worked!
Since then the phone locks up in no systematical pattern (when I wake up in the morning it mybe locked itself, sometimes when I listen to the radio or typing an SMS..). Do you have any idea what the problem might be? Can't type in the serial number as I just have managed to turn it on.
What should be mentioned is the behavior when trying to start it. Either the phone gives no respons, or it "buzzez" and the display shows "touch diamond", but the rom version is not appearing down to the right. When it starts, it starts just as it should and no error messages is displayed.
I have not tried doing a hard reset yet, which I must say is considered the last option.
Have anyone experienced something like this? Or does anyone have a suggestion about what might be causing this?
Thanks on beforehand
Edit: have performed a hard reset now (did not format the 4gb). But the problem is not gone.. The phone just died while surfing. Now it locks at the green windows mobile-screen just before the homescreen loads (if it even boots at all...)
Please help anyone!
Hey guys,
I could need a bit of help! It's now the third time I'm having this problem, don't ask me why. I've got the feeling that I read the whole forum here, but didn't find anything similiar.
The 1st time I didn't change anything (ok, rooted it, but nothing else)
The 2nd time I overclocked it slightly (~850-900 MHz)
Now I'm using MIUI.
But back to the problem:
I'm unable to use the keyboard, every time I'm sliding open the keyboard (even when it's turned off), it "crashes". The screen stops working or it freezes, the only way to turn it off is taking out the battery.
However, the bigger problem comes now: I'm barely able to restart it. It tries booting, but is restarting all the time or the screen is just turning on (in some angles you see that it is turned on but it's black). After many retries, it starts working, sometimes the bootloop is running 15min or i have to manually restart it 10 times or more. The strange thing is that the keyboard works fine, nevertheless I have to choose between using it opened (taking it with me becomes difficult ) or closed...
...the main problem now is flashing a new Rom, I'm currently trying it through the android sdk and adb, but using the power-button + x is easier
I don't think that I can solve the problem, I sent the device two times back (warranty till may 2012), but maybe someone here knows a bit more. My guess is that one of the sensors is broken, or some parts of the display that should manage the sliding process...
Anyway, thanks for your attention!

Tried to use one a time ago, but it wasn't working right....
However, now I'm not even able to boot it, the screen just flashes and turns off itself before trying to restart a few moments later....guess I lost my Milestone

the computer isn't finding it anymore...I'll back up the data and try use my warranty... I hope that they don't complain about MIUI...
But I'm still not getting the point, why my mobile had these issues three times, although they "repaired" it twice...and nobody else is having the same problem
Today my 4X encountered a strange problem: It shut down itself (I thought the battery was empty and charged it), and after restarting it just shuts down immediately. It shows the lockscreen saying "no SIM" and then shuts down. Anyone know a solution to fix this? I suppose a factory reset might do it, but I don't have a backup now and would like to keep my data.

If it is the SIM then try a different SIM, or put a folded piece of paper between the holder and the SIM - I always do that with phones just to make sure it keeps good contact at all times.
Other than that, no real idea mate - sorry
I think it should also work without a SIM. But as said, it just shows the lockscreen for ~2 seconds and then shuts down. I have tried without a sim, it's the same. I'll try with a different one, but I suppose that won't help much. I think i'll also try a kdz reflash, but i'll have to set up my father's PC to do so. Just thought maybe someone knows a quick solution.
Alright, i've just done a kdz reflash - same situation. Is there a way to adb pull the /data/data from any of the other modes (recovery, Emergency etc.?)

Weird... Reflash use to replace all files and stock settings unless you have some app avoiding them to run... Reflash don't delete installed apps most part of the time. If you have frozen apps they'll remain frozen. Did you factory reset before reflash?

No, as said i wanted to try everything before doing a factory reset (don't have a recent backup because Ubuntu won't recognize the MTP mode properly). I have restarted the phone many times before without that strange behaviour and didn't freeze anything since then. I just can't tell where the problem comes from. BTW, the SIM is recognised now (after the reflash), but still shutting down.

You notice some over heat, you try to use it without SD card, it keeps rebooting when charger is connected?...
Cause appart of hardware malfunction, I can't see any other reason... of course we don't know if the system file is corrupted or not...
If the phone is ON time enough, you can copy the data files/ folders to your SD card, after save them all you can factory reset...
Wait for better help cause I have no idea... sorry

It's not because of heat, the phone is really cool. It just stays on for a second or so, just enough to see the lockscreen or the "Enter PIN" screen and then it shuts down. It's like the battery was empty, but it's charged. It even shows the charged battery symbol. Guess I'll have to do a factory reset and lose my data. As root is gone, I also can't boot to the bootstrap recovery (with this method) to backup there. Should have done that before doing a reflash...

You can try to downgrade before factory reset... some apps won't work but, maybe the phone just don't turn OFF and you'll be able to save your data.
So downgrading didn't work either. I'll use the LG Support Tool to upgrade and factory reset now (with data loss). That should hopefully fix it.
Well, the LG Support tool also didn't fix it. Data is lost now, so I can freely do whatever I want
I've tried to get into the "low-level mode" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35524491&postcount=11), but no success. Can someone point me into the right direction and on how to press those buttons? I've tried several combinations, but they all didn't work out - either the battery symbol appeared or the phone booted to recovery or to the "do not touch cable notice" mode.
As far as I understand I should do the following steps:
1) Remove the battery and USB cable
2) Insert the battery and plug in the cable. The phone vibrates once, then shows the LG logo, then shows a battery symbol and then turns off the screen.
3) Press Vol+ and power and hold it. The battery logo shows again. There is a sound indicating that some device is connected to Windows. The screen turns off and there is a sound indicating that the device is disconnected from Windows. Let go off the buttons.
4) Press the buttons again until there is a sound indicating that a device is connected to Windows. Let go off the buttons. The screen should remain off.
Is this correct? What am I doing wrong? Do I have to wait at some point for some action? As said, all I ever got was the "battery symbol" again (for a few seconds).

Once that data is gone, just reflash the phone.
My advice, like always is, downgrade, factory reset, upgrade , root, factory reset.
hope you don't tell me that you have problems with flash method...
I have tried that. Flashed v10a, wiped data in recovery, upgraded to v10h via LG Support Tool. Still shutting down. I thought the emergency recovery might fix it but I cant get the emergency mode to work. I'll call the LG support tomorrow and hope they'll bring me a new phone.

If when you're flashing, you use "web upgrade" instead of normal upgrade, it will upgrade with LG Tool, official firmware, what it means that is the same than the emergency recovery that you're trying to use.
The difference is that you don't need to use IMEI. The detection is automatic.

Thanks, I thought the Emergency Recovery was still different. So no chance to fix this now. LG's support won't work on Christmas, so three more days stuck with it.
I got the phone back today. Put the battery in, started, and... it shut down. AGAIN. They were supposed to fix that! Anyone near me who has a spare battery for testing? After all that might be faulty.

It goes down when charger is connected?
Yes, it does. And it recognises the battery as full, that's why I don't suppose it's because of that. But one never knows.
mines done it a couple times recently too! just living with it till the update!
Problem solved. A new battery did the trick. But I still don't know why it would shut down with the old one.
Hey, everybody!
I got a problem and hope to find help in here:
I recently got my Mi 11 Ultra (12GB / 512GB) from Tradingshenzhen. I bought an unmodified chinese version. After setting up my phone a few days ago the only things I did was changing the language of the Play Store using Morelocale 2 and deleting 2-3 (really unnecessary) apps using ADB. I didn't flash anything, didn't unlock the bootloader or didn't even start the unlocking process.
Everything worked fine for a 2-3 days now. Tonight I realized that the phone was off. As I was thinking that the battery was empty (there was a message a while before that the battery was low) I connected the phone to the charging cable and did a long press on the power button trying to turn it on. I put the phone aside and went to bed.
Today in the morning I took the phone and saw that it was obviously in some kind of menu I hadn't seen before. It says " Main Menu MIUI Recovery 5.0". There are three options: reboot, wipe data and connect to MiAssistant. When I am choosing "reboot" the phone tries to reboot but ends up in Recovery Mode again. And again. And again.
How is this possible? Anyone knows what happened here? As I said...I didn't flash any ROM or opened the bootloader.
Unfortunately there is one photo on the device that I need and haven't uploaded to any cloud yet.
Thanks in advance!
Can't see any other options that will work without losing that photo.....
Maybe an expert could help you but I'm not sure you will be able to reflash yourself without Data wipe....
Thanks!
I actually wiped the data and reset the phone. Works now again but the photo is lost.
There is a way to retrieve data from a board but it involves taking the whole phone apart , which is risky, and connecting a couple of wires to some points on the circuit board....
Not for the feint of heart and I haven't seen it done yet on this model but there's a YouTube video of it being done on an older xiaomi phone....
Hello,
my Mi 9 (stock rom, locked bootloader, never touched anything) recently got into a boot-loop apparently for no reason. After some tinkering it turned on again. Sadly the touch screen does not respond for some reason. The problem is the last backup of the phone is not so recent and I would really like to get all the photos of that phone.
What I already tried:
Connect Mouse and Keyboard via an OTG cable => not recogniced
Letting the battery drain completeley hoping it would reset itself
Fully charging the battery
Connect ADB => cannot authorize without touch
Connect Xiaomi PC Sync software => does not connect probably needs authorization as well
Stock Recovery does not allow to wipe caches
Last resort was to open up the phone and disconnect the battery and reconnect after a couple of minutes (touch did not work before that)
What is not working:
Touch
Face Unlock
USB OTG Peripherals
USB connection to download photos to PC
What had happened:
Phone randomly went into a boot-loop aparently for no reason
At first booting into Safe Mode worked but not for long
Draing the battery completely did not and fully recharging it => Now the phone turns on again in normal mode as well as Safe Mode
Assuming the initial issue was related to a very weak battery
Battery was already weak before everything happened
Now battery only holds charge for a couple of hours in standby
Sadly after booting the things mentioned above did not work anymore
Maybe failing to boot so often has done anything to the software or the cache on the device
Also storage was already pretty full before everything happened, might play into it
Tried many things, last resort was to open the phone and disconnect the battery for a few minutes => did not work
Touch malfunctioned already before that, so it is unlikely that I caused any hardware damage
What i am looking for:
To get my pictures back, I know if I had done a proper backup we would not be in that situation.
Have not yet tried:
I don't know if there is a way to flash the stock ROM via fastboot or if this could help
Could this help?
Can it be done when the bootloader is locked?
Can it be done without loosing data, screen lock pattern is enabled on the phone.
If you have any more ideas please let me know, I already tried everything I could think of and nothing worked.
Thank you a lot
Also I read something about EDL and EDL Pins, would this help me to download the data partition or clear the cache? Would clearing the cache help? Could the data partition be somehow decrypted outside of the phone?
