How to install Netflix? - ASUS ROG Phone II Questions & Answers

I have the Tencent 8gb / 128 version, CN rom. When I try to install Netflix, the Google Playstore says "Your device isn't compatible with this version." I've tried to find APKs but they cannot install for some reason. Any solutions (apart from flashing the global rom)?

I've got the chinese tescent version with WW firmware loaded straight from the resellet on it and I can't even see netflix on google play for some reason.
---------- Post added at 07:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:13 PM ----------
just searched for netflix and found this topic:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/rog-phone-2/help/rog-phone-2-play-protect-certified-t3975677/page2
follow those instructions, you need to change the fingerprint scanner to WW as well

I have Netflix on CN Rom 1908,21 and no problem at all :good:

Is there any solution?
I didn't find out how to avoid updating market yet, but this error appears only in Hendroid from builds which I have tested. As Needo said later, it is caused by wrong gapps. In Neofroyo market works fine after update.

Magisk on T813?

I'm on latest stock Nougat on my Tab S2 T813. I'd like to install Magisk on it. I've searched the forums, but not much about if people have done this successfully. I'd like to do this so my kids can play PoGo with GPS apps and hide the GPS apps. Has anyone been able to install latest Magisk on a Tab S2 T813?
Yup, works fine!

Awesome! Really glad to hear it. So steps below to go from pure stock to Magisk with root? I also believe the T813 (wifi only version) is bootloader unlocked already. Would love to hear any other tips you might have also. Thanks!
1. Root (ODIN, CF-autoroot)
2. Recovery (ODIN, official TWRP 3.1.0)
3. Magisk (official latest Magisk 15.3 zip using TWRP)
4. Magisk manager APK
Answering my own questions. Got official TWRP recovery, flashed Magisk, install Magisk Mgr apk, installed GPS Joystick, cloned GPS Joystick app, uninstalled original GPS Joystick app, moved cloned GPS Joystick to system with Lucky Patcher and installed PoGo. All good.

Gcam Google Camera for Moto G7 Play

Since I got this phone I've been disappointed by the camera quality, doing some research the logical step is to install better camera software. That's how I stumbled into the Google Camera app ported for other phones. Unfortunately this device runs a 32 bits architecture and the newer versions of gcam run on 64 bits, which makes it difficult for us to get the app.
Looking for a working apk I managed to find a old 32 bits version of gcam (based on version 4.2 to be exact) it was meant to run on the Moto G5/5s/Plus I got it installed but after opening the app it immediately crash, sometimes the camera preview is shown but it still crashed. I don't remember the link from where I got the apk, but if someone what's to try it out I can reupload it.
So if you have found an Gcam apk that work on the Moto G7 Play, share it here :fingers-crossed:
(I also tried some apks that are supposed to work on the other G7s but none of them worked)
Update: I found the apk link I mentioned above https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75483974&postcount=44
I am not an expert, but is cam2api enabled to even run GCam?

I downloaded the Camera2 API Probe app and it said it has level3 Support but I'm no expert either so I don't know if you need to have full support for the gcam to even work
I cant help installing gcam but if you want a better camera app than the stock one, I suggest "snap camera hdr" from play store.
The Google Camera app should work fine on the Moto G7 Play once a stable root solution has been worked out. Then, the needed framework can be modified within the /system directory to make GCam fully functional and stable. I am speculating a bit, but basing this assumption on the fact that I have GCam running smoothly on my Moto G6 and Moto E5 Play, both with root implementations.
Found a Gcam mod that works!
Hey, I think I have good and bad news. So, there's a BSG mod that works fine in my g7 play. I did everything as normal: rooted with magisk, installed camera 2 api module, enabled Hal3 in BuildProp and tried several apks and mods from different versions and this one works. The bad news are that it's a mod from the gcam of the first pixel which is 32 bits, so I guess we won't have the stuff from new apps which are 64 bits, but this mod seems to have most functionalities ok. I'm still testing it though. And it doesn't crash \o/
Since I'm a new user, I can't post links, so:
- After rooting, getting camera 2 api in magisk and sound the Hal3 prop thing, uninstall every gcam you installed (for instance, uninstall this one that is crashing, cause BSG will be recognized as an update for it. I had a Gcam that was crashing and couldn't install the BSG untill I uninstalled the one I had)
- There's a video in Spanish called "Cómo instalar lá cámara de google em dispositivos de 32 bits" from a channel called DnewTech. There's a link to mediafire in the description with the apk that worked for me.

PS: it seems this mode is for some Nexus phones, but it works, so... I guess it's okay...?
Is rooting required for Gcam on the Moto G7? My days of rooting are over (I hope).
I actually didn't try it without rooting, sorry!
But since this mod comes from the oldest versions it may be possible, but now I'm just speculating. So O suggest trying it out. :fingers-crossed:
But at the very least, there's a functional version for us
So, there is not change to use Night Sigh on this device??
Isn't Moto G7 Play 64 bits?
Unfortunately, it's actually 32bits. Armv7 architecture
This is weird since the manufacturer's states it as a 64 bits processor.

Yeah, but the OS is 32 bits. There are some armbinder64 OS working on moto g7 play, but with some problems in notch, touch screen, some buttons and other stuff.

I checked that one out but it doesn't seem to work, all pictures are super noise. Can anyone else try it? My phone model is XT1952-1 if it matters

Pls help me to lock my Moto E5 Plus Hannah (XT1924-4) bootloader

Hi there, a time ago i wanted to be root user, and do all that root stuffs. Now i want the phone completly stock; i've already flash the stock rom but at the booting shows that "bad key" or "N/A"message on the top left corner, i tried to solve flashing the stock boot logo.bin, and it kind of do the thing (see pictures below). But now on play store some apps don't apear because my bootloader it's unlock, even apps like Netflix doesn't work installing the apk on mirror servers... When i try to lock the bootloader via fastboot shows that message (see pictures below) and i go to the developer settings and the option it's not longer available because the bootloder it's already unlock.
Just add the "https://" thing at the begin drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-77-hzyTmeRBjScz95AxeLXX8iXqMFRE?usp=sharing
So, what can i do? If you have some idea, i'll be glad of reading you guys!. Thanks btw.

Try this; Do a full root on the device with magisk. When your rooted, flash the safety net module and Google dialer module. That should fix both of your issues. Safety net is for Google play store issues and so on and the Google dialer seems to work better all around. Any question just let me know

Also did you installed the two Magisk modules, Google dialer framework and safetypatch?
And an add-on as well with the Google dialer I forgot to tell you earlier I'm sorry you do need to go to the play store and download the Google dialer app, as the module is only the framework for it. Try these and get back to me. I know with my device moto e5 play if I have either the dialer apk or the Magisk module installed but not the other, I have the same issues you are describing. Absolutely, I have no problem helping at all. So first let's start simple. Before we flashed the modems, let's make sure the majestic module for Google dialer framework is installed and the Google dialer apk as well.

Also after you install the Google dialer apk be sure to restart your phone. And to touch base on custom roms, I myself do prefer those over the factory firmware as you will be able to customize more to your liking, and they also seem to run a bit faster. I am running the latest version of aosip Android 9.
