Has anyone else encountered this problem? I get it occasionally and have to soft reset to get my phone to display the caller's information again...
Hi all, I have just got my Galaxy Note from South East Asia. I just want to check whether this is a bug or everyone else's gnote is doing the same thing.
Like the title says, When I received a text message, gtalk notifications, whatsapp notifications, gmail notifications or any other notifications, the vibrations that is coming from the phone is the 'Incoming Call' Vibration instead of 'Notification' Vibration. The 'Incoming Call' Vibration is the long buzz and the 'Notification' Vibration is the 2x short buzz. So when I am chatting with multiple people, I get multiple long buzzes, this is driving me crazy, not just that, this is draining my battery as well..
I hope someone can help me, I want and need the vibration, but I just want the 2x short buzz..
p.s. I have played around with the settings with every single apps and the phone settings, but nothing seems to fix it. I have also done a hard reset, problem still there.
Is anyone else having this problem? If this is normal, then is there any apps or anything that can change this? Thank you in advance for any input..
Can anyone just let me know what are their notifications vibrate and the incoming call vibrate? I just want to know whether mine is acting normal or not? could some help me in replying please?
this is common even my phone vibrates long.. try keeping a short tone like single beep or something. This may reduce the duration.
U can actually set different vibration intensities for incoming calls, notification and haptic feedback ...what i did was to reduce notification and haptic feedback to zero so that my phone only vibrates for incoming calls. go to settings/sound/vibration intensity.

the problem here is that the vibrate that I receive for incoming calls & notifications (sms, email, etc) are the same. when setting my phone on vibrate and when I have it on silent, I cant tell the difference whether it is incoming calls or just a sms text when I have the phone in my pocket. this makes me to respond quickly to my phone whenever it vibrates, because i use my phone as business use, since I thought those vibrates are incoming calls.
thanks to you both for the reply.
This is a workaround for getting missed call notifications in addition to SMS notifications whilst using STAMINA mode.
Note this only works for anybody who hasn't upgraded their firmware yet. Upgrading apparently "fixes" this (useful) bug and you don't get notified at all any more.
The notification LEDs only appear to stay flashing in STAMINA mode if the event occurs when screen is off. This is why SMS notification works, as an incoming SMS doesn't wake the phone. Phone calls,on the other hand, cause the screen to come on, so the notification LEDs don't remain flashing after the missed call. It's the nature of the "bug" it seems.
So, missed calls have to be converted to SMS. The free app "Missed Call Messenger Lite" does this. If a call is missed it fires off an SMS. If you put your own number as the SMS destination, you send yourself an SMS which comes back shortly, time depending on how busy your network is, usually 2-5 seconds.
The problem is, if your network returns the SMS too quickly it arrives whilst the screen is still lit from the phone call. Luckily the app has a delay setting ("call log timeout" - under "Advanced Settings") which delays sending the SMS. Default is 5 secs. If you set 15 secs or longer it should work, the SMS being delayed until after the screen goes off. You need to include Missed Call Messenger in your STAMINA mode exception list,or the SMS won't get sent!.
There's one more thing you need to do. There is already an automatic entry in contacts, right at the top, called "Myself", and the bounced back SMS will be from "Me". Unfortunately you can't set the illumination for "Myself", so you have to create another contact with your own number.
You could name it "Missed Call" or similar, and if you begin it with an underscore it will end up out of the way at the bottom of the contact list. Luckily the system picks up your new contact rather than "Myself" when your own number comes in, and the LED bar flashes.
It sounds a complicated workaround but it actually works without any fuss,so you can now have phone and SMS notifications.
Just to repeat, this only works for the original firmware.
Hello,
Since sprout went to official CM12 support, I have been flashing ROMs from there. My recent nightly build was cm-12.1-20150625-NIGHTLY-sprout4.zip . All the incoming calls appear in heads up notification when the phone screen is active, when it is inactive or locked, the incoming call appears like usual and I can answer.
Since I do not like heads up notification, I switch them off. After this, the phone rings, but the call only appears in notification drawer. I then have to pull it and then answer the call.
I have tried changing the notification checkbox of the app.
I expect the active screen to change to regular incoming call display with button in the middle to answer / decline.
Is someone else facing this issue? This wasn't the case in previous nightlies.

I am facing the same issue with oneplus one running cm12s and hi locker app.
I had to revert back to hi locker release 1.4.5.
Do you still experience the issue?
Hey there. Im having problems with incoming calls through Viber. When somebody is calling me sometimes there is no pop up screen, no evidence of viber just ringtone and display is where ever it is. While u using your phone on homescreen or some app or something. This is also happening while screen is locked. Viber ringtone is there when u open the phone there is nothing only viber incoming ringtone.
Is there any fix for this
Mine too. I have yet to find the setting I did which is most likely the cause for this.
