Just wanted to know, how to get a sound effect while triggering XMODE using Air Triggers? In my case only the wallpaper changes.

I don't think you can get a sound effect.

[Q] How to disable screen capture sound with Tasker?

Hi,
I am using a TW-based ROM (Criskelo) and I'd like to disable the screen capture sound without having to completely mute the phone.
Preferably I'd rather not delete the actual sound file as I'd have to do it whenever I upgrade the ROM.
I already did something similar to mute the camera sound with a Tasker profile, but I can't see a "screen capture" event or app in Tasker.
Have I missed this in Tasker?
Thanks!

You can cut it from its original location and paste it to another location usimg root explorer. Whenever you upgrade it you can put it back to its original location. As simple as that.

Is there a way to automate that with Titanium backup I wonder? I'd really would like to avoid too many manual tweaks after each upgrade, especially if I don't upgrade for a while I'll forget all this...

You can mute camera shutter sound by going in camera settings.
Screen shots sounds will be gone too.

Ah indeed the ICS Camera App has a Shutter sound Off setting, but it doesn't turn off the screenshot sound on my ROM (Criskelo)

[Q] Force aspect ratio/resolution for apps?

Is there a way to force a certain aspect ratio or resolution for an app? I've noticed with some apps that I get cropping which causes some games to be unplayable, some just annoying. Currently, I'm having issues with Plants vs. Zombie (from the Humble Mobile Bundle). The sides are cut off and some of the images/controls on top overlap.
I'm running Fat'n Creamy 2/28 release.
Try Ultimate Rotation Control https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.fameit.rotate. It allows settings for individual apps.
Please let us know if this helps.
EDIT
Misread question, but it's a good app anyway.

Thanks for that app, actually. I hate having the screen locked in the "upright" position when I have it plugged in. I like to have it flipped with the USB port on top to reduce stress.

Disable dynamic contrast?

I hate the dynamic contrast on this phone. To the point im thinking of returning it to get another phone. I was reading this review
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6747/htc-one-review/10
and it leads me to believe that it is possible somehow. "The HTC One includes a dynamic contrast function which can’t easily be disabled, as there’s no option in the display settings for it."
Does anyone know if theres a mod to do this or how I could do it? Maybe theres a rom that allows this? Its driving me crazy the way the backlight adjusts constantly.

Errm do you mean auto brightness? As dynamic contrast really isn't going to be noticeable enough to annoy anybody, as proven with TV's.
Try just setting brightness to 1/3 of the slider.

No I don't mean auto brightness. I would never use dynamic contrast on a tv. It's terrible and I don't know how anyone can not notice it.

Dynamics contrast only affects pure black scenes and it is not really noticeable during a normal TV show. Apart from us lot most wouldn't notice it, but on this phone I can't notice It at all and it would be linked to auto brightness so that it tries to keep up a consistent experience. Try sticking a constant brightness and see if it's better

I am interested in the Dynamic contrast. I use 4 24in HP monitors at work and I actually am in the 5% of people who enjoy having it lol

Note8 Edge Lighting / Notifications Fix

I was struggling with the edge notification not working. I tried all the solutions in the videos/sites but they didn't work for me. Anyway I found a solution i though I'd share since i haven't seen anyone mention it.
Basically go check your developer options and make sure you haven't disabled animations scale completely. Make it at least 0.5 and edge notifications scale will work.
I always use to disabled animations and this is the first app well sys app that seems to need it enabled to function.
Anyway thought I'd share that little something. Peace [emoji111]️
Thanks man!
Thanks for the tip!!

i disabled developer options and put it to 0.5 and i still only receive edge lighting for only text messages. not for the other notifications i've selected
Hello. If you want edge lighting notifications for all apps, here is app which support it even with custom colors. It works by transforming old style notifications, to new style, so it shows edge lighting even with AOD. Give it a try.

And works with screen on and off? Does this app overlaps the original edge lighting?
Thanks

Hello. Yes, it works with screen on and off. It works by grabbing old style notification, parse data end send new style, edge like notification so it uses samsung native notifications. It looks just like someone is calling you.
Still dont work.

How to enable LED notification on S10/+/e

I put together this video since I was asked how I did it. Hope it helps.

there is already edge light notification built in - if you can find a way for this to work only around the punch hole - please come back and let us know

Go to 5:10 there is an option where it will only go around the camera cut out.
I don't have a S10 so I can't try it, but it seems like it's working properly in the video.

Did you even watch the video before you made that comment? There's no way to do what the video shows with an out of the box s10 model.
Awesome, finally having a way to know I got a notification without checking the phone all the time and the light will stay until I see it. I will try when I get home, Thank you so much! hopefully it doesn't take too much battery having it just around the camera.
Can you have it so the light only shows around the cutout and not the whole screen? What does that look like?

Yes, watch the video. I show that in there around the 5 min mark I think.
But this comes with a forced custom lockscreen right?
Dont want to have that.

yes i watched the video i just dont know why it looks so wierd
cant you just film the actual phone
atm it looks like something someone made up in photoshop
i see a ring notification but is not clear if its not croped from another video and pasted over or what
show the video with the actual phone not the simulated screen

Agree, wish this functionality was built-in by Samsung, rather than the security liabilities of the 3rd party app permissions.

It's not a simulated screen. It's my actual S10 and I'm doing a screen record. You won't get any clearer view that that or the other video on my channel

No, it does not! You maintain the OEM lockscreen. Nothing changes on your phone except you now get a notification light like I showed...either way.

I would be nice if the camera edge lighting just works without having to switch to another "lockscreen". I like the native always on display. If the camera edge lighting just works with that then it would be even better.
Edit: Hmm just saw EVOme's reply above. Going to check that out!
Edit 2: So it looks like it still switched to another screen when camera edge lighting poped up. What I was talking about is just have the lighting show up while keeping it at always on display.
downloaded it to see if worked without AOD on and couldn't get the notifications permissions to stick. I gave up and uninstalled it.
It comes with its own AoD - uninstalled
He wants you to watch ads or buy to save settings - uninstalled x 2

Genuinely cant see why this is any better than edge lighting
Led lights have is a permanent light so you could see you had a notification, and also read for charging and green for fully charged
Why is just pushing edge lighting into the camera cut out being called led notifications? It just seems to me it should be called 'add on to edge lighting '
Unless we get a permanent led light then it's not led notifications as we all know it to be

Call it whatever you want. We currently do not have the option without using a 3rd party app. Edge lighting is mediocre at best IF you can even get it working. Would a Samsung solution be better, absolutely, but it's not there.
So why is the camera cut out any different to the edge lighting, or the notification lighting up?
The camera cut out lighting up then going off is not the same as an led staying on, sorry just don't get it.
