When I plugin my mobile on the Huawei Super Charge I see on the home screen 'Super Charge' and how quickly the battery should be loaded.
When I turn on the app Ampere I see as input only 10mA. i don't think that this is correct. Is there a way to measure it more properly? Especially when I want to test different cables and chargers to get an idea what they are promoting and what is effectively delivered.

are you using an aftermarket charger?
The problem is Quick Charge from Qualcomm uses a higher amp where as Huawei uses a higher wattage and most third party chargers go the higher amp route.
So what is better for p30 pro battery life? The official charger or an aftermarket slower charger?

Makes no difference. I personally use a wireless charger over night and the official wired I've when I need a boost. I carry an aftermarket one in my travel bag just in case.

Here's the Samsung quick charge , Huawei and my slow charger. The amps are not higher on the Samsung. For best battery health and longetivity I use slowest of all three.

10V x 4A is = 40W , then you have a slight loss via cable plus the phone I don't think charges at that rate once it reaches a certain % value.

Thanks for immediate reply.. Am planning to search for higher rating charger ( I mean amp rating) will it make sense? Actually I discussed with xda mates earlier about this sometime ago but not in detailed. So am still in search for answer..

With higher amp, battery would wear out faster than normal.
Best way to charge faster is to never let battery drop down below 30% - 40%.
This would also extend battery life.
Higher ampere charger will force and stretch your battery. It will work but shorten battery lifetime. You don't mind buying spare battery, right?

This may or may not be related to op's question, but I've been wondering, does the "Enable USB Fastcharge" option available in some of the AOKP-based roms actually work?
The fastest way to make charging quick is to have a fully charged spare battery with you. Then the Note is charged in 20 seconds.

id be very interested in this too as my old htc had a 1.5A charger and a 1250mah battery, the note has a 2500mah battery and only a 1A charger
The note is most likely limited to a maximum charge rate of 800-900ma as the stock chargers only 1000ma
I have a 2100ma usb charger on the way, and with "battery monitor widget pro", it should give me some idea of the maximum charge rate.

Simply not a good idea.
The microUSB contacts are rated at 1A max, so any modification to the charge controller to allow charging currents greater than the contact ratings can result in a damaged connector and then your Note will become largely useless.
I understand everyone wants to play and muck about with their Note, but this falls into the category of "A real bad idea" so be warned.

According to batteryuniversity.com , lin-on/poly battery`s should be charged at between 0.5 and 1C , the Note has a 2.4amp battery , so you could charge it with a 2.4amp, though as i have already mentioned the note is most likely limited to between 800-900mah charge rate.
The good thing about having a powerful charger, is that it will barely get warm, and the components inside will give a much cleaner output, than a low power one, signs of a struggling power supply can be, getting very hot, flickering on the phone that`s being charged`s screen as the power/voltage is fluctuating, also a high pitched noise.

I bought one of those BlackBerry chargers and it's scary fast. I didn't know a phone could charge that quickly. I am genuinely a little afraid of it, that it'll ruin the battery. Phone doesn't get exceptionally warm charging with it, but why all this fuss about Quick Charge 2.0 if this $5 BlackBerry charger can charge in equal or less time? Surely there must be something dangerous about it.

I think the temperature difference between the original charger and the blackberry is about 2-3 degrees. For example when I charge the phone the battery temperature is 37-39 degrees.

Thanks for the info, but if it's as minimal as you say, which presumably shouldn't harm the battery (people set their thermostats to wider differences than that) then what's the big deal about Quick Charge 2.0? Just give everyone power supplies like the Motorola one. Is there some other factor which could harm the battery that temperature alone wouldn't indicate?

Looks like a standard 5V 2A charger. Have you measured it against another 2A charger to see if it's quicker? Trying to work out what's different.
By the way, the difference between this and QuickCharge 2.0 is 4 volts. Quick Charge 2.0 will deliver 9v 2a. So technically should be quicker then this PlayBook charger.
I believe the HTC bundled charger is actually a Quick Charge 1.0 compatible (1.5A) charger. Quick Charge 2.0 however is disabled at present. So apparently we won't be able to make use of any Quick Charge 2.0 chargers until a software update is sent out by HTC, as there is a chip integrated in to the wall charger which works in tandem with the Qualcomm Snapdragon chip in the M8 for the feature to work.

Hehe, you wish!! Official statement from Qualcomm is: "3300mAh battery 0-60% in 30min" but after that is slowing down to protect battery from overheating... So I would say 0-100% in 1hr.. Still damn fast! 9V can make the difference...

Difficult to define "really hot", I mean I wouldn't consider under normal charging conditions that mine gets "hot". It will warm up if I use say the internet whilst charging. But I'd never consider it to get really hot.

Well, need to have a thermometer handy Also depends on the ambient temperature of the room and the surface upon which it is placed. Also depends on which stage of charging it is in. During the 0% to 50/60% charging stage, it can be quite hot to the touch. As in uncomfortable to hold. But then it cools down as the rate of charging slows down until it reaches 100%. During the 60-100% it is hardly noticeable that it's charging.

Fresh out of infrared temperature guns here
Just my own observations, that at any point during charging, I've never noticed it becoming 'really hot'. Granted, ambient temperature plays a part, as whilst charging in vehicle with satnav running it'll get quite hot. But under normal charging conditions, it should not be getting really hot.

Try switching the charging cable with another. When I got my Note 4 I had a similar issue due to the cable.
Try turning your charger around in the wall. With my s6, it won't fast charge if the polarity is backwards.
Very true. I had some aftermarket much longer white cables, and they are SLOW. I just changed by Tab S to a shorter black cable that probably came with a charger I got, and it is charging normally. Odd that a cable can be slow, but it can.
I did not use it yet. How can i understand its charging first ?

Are you sure a 2AMP charger makes a difference compared to the stock charger that ships with the phone? Could you download an app that measures the charging rate & post a screenshot of the charging rates?
I've tried charging with both a 2AMP charger and the stock & the results are the same, I see no difference in charging speed & no difference is shown on the "Ampere" app, both charges at around a max of 980ma with screen on (I assume it goes up to 1A, when screen is off).

Sorry, i changed like 4 different phones since that post.
Try to use 5V 1.5 A charge perfect and fast about 1.30 full , and no affect battery , im not using stock charger with 1A because charge very slow.
I got an Anker USB-C PD 10k watt charger for Christmas. It seems to charge my phone multiple times faster than the wall charger included with the phone. Is this due to the PD protocol? If so, could I expect a PD wall charger to do the same?
Sorry, seems dumb but wasn't sure if something else factored in

If you are using the original N9 charger with adaptive fast charging, then the max rate is 15W, the same as via any PD charger.
Observed differences could be because of screen on, battery level, and temperature. Or could also be a worn out cable.
