I don't know if this will help, but, set your theme to light mode, then do a hard reboot with the power button. After she boots up, switch back to dark theme,.and do the same thing. Hope it works :good:
Go back to the display setting with the theme toggle. Toggle it off, wait a few seconds and toggle it back on. Exit, wait a few more seconds and reboot. My older P3 XL also stayed on white boot screen until I did this.
cool thanks for the quick response that did the trick thank you again

I was setting myself a wallpaper and while the loading saying Setting Wallpaper was up, I pressed home key by accident. And the phone froze. I removed battery and turned on the phone. When it is turned on, it gets to the lock screen but I cannot press any buttons, and when the screen turns off, I cannot wake up the phone. Also when the phone turns on, it isn't displaying any wallpaper (just a black wallpaper), so I think it must have been something with that wallpaper thing. I am using CM7, and ADW Launcher EX 1.3.0.
Help please!

Try wiping dalvik and cache partition in recovery and rebooting. If not you can always reflash.

My home, menu, search, etc keys are not lighting up anymore. I tried restarting the phone to see if it would get em lit up agian, but no luck. I can go into Settings > Display > Adjust Brightness, but whenever the phone screen locks they go off again until I do the above again.
They were lit up fine until I tried to enter CWM recovery by holding power and vol down.
Phone is rooted, 2.3.4 update, stock rom.
EDIT: I have no idea what I did to fix it but it's fixed now =/.

its a known bug, usually after charging it will go back to normal. nothing serious.
Hold the phone up to a light while the screen is on. It can be anything from a flashlight to a computer monitor.

Go to Display. take the check-mark out and reboot. Then put the check-mark back in and reboot again. Hope it works. Its a GB thing!

This is the best solution I've found for this problem. Flash a light onto the phone censor. Or just hold your phone up to a bright monitor like he mentioned. Fixes it every time. You'll probably have to do this every time you reboot because that's usually when the problem reoccures.
if you add the brightness widget to one of you screen and then use it to adjust brightness, it will light up the buttons
Hello and thank you for attempting to help me. I have a Nexus 6 from T-mobile. My dentist appointment yesterday brought me clean teeth and a terrible phone problem. While I was there yesterday my phone decided to download the 5.1.1 update OTA. I pressed the okay button and it restarted. On boot up, I get a white window saying it is "optimizing apps x out of 138". It does that every time I boot it up. After that window is finished, I get a black backgrounded lock screen. On the lock screen in the usual place is the time. In the top left it says there is no sim card. In the bottom I get the normal call, unlock, camera buttons. I am able to drag down the top to show the notification information. As far as I know there are no settings changed from the factory Nexus 6 I recieved from T-mobile. Now I have attempted multiple tasks to try to access my phone but all have been in vain. Here is a list of what I have tried.
To unlock the phone normally. The result is a black screen, a little beep, a white window that says Google services have failed. After a second or two the white screen goes away and leaves a empty screen. I am still able to hold the power button to reveal the white power off window and it works. I can also hold down on the volume and the power button to create a screen shot. It even shows the whole minimization of the current screen and fall to the bottom like it would if the phone was working properly.
I tried to swipe the call button and all it does is give me a blank white screen with a blue notification bar at the top. I can once again power off or screen shot but nothing else.
I have not tried to swipe from camera yet.
I can drag down on the top notification bar to show the the notifications, quick setting changes (Wifi, data, airplane modes, brightness) and the setting button to go to the setting menu. I can turn the brightness up and down, and turn all the other things in the quick menu on and off but if I click anything (toogle them or slide the brightness) and put the notifications bar back up I get the black screen with the white google services has crashed window. I can power off and screen shot normally.
If i swipe down on the notification bar and press setting It crashes once again and gives the black screen and white window that says google services has crashed. I can power off and screen shot normally.
I tried holding volume down and the power button then went into recovery mode. Held power then press volume up to get to the next menu and then deleted the cache partition. It has no effect that I have noticed.
As stated above, I do not think I have usb debugging enabled, I assume my boot loader is locked. This phone has not been modded by me.
I do not want to factory reset if I do not have to due to the very important phones and numbers i have.
You didn't make a backup before updating ?

Unless there is a previous setting in place that I clicked to automatically update it when ever there is one available, I do not remember picking to update. It downloaded and asked me to reset. I assumed it was a small patch and not something that could screw up my phone. I could of though. But no I did not.

Well, I'd suggest a factory reset even though you are reluctant. Otherwise, bring it somewhere for repair. But chances are they're going to tell you to factory reset.
Hi. So I'll get right into it.
I've had my phone since November of last year and everything has worked good. Installed CM13, enabled notification lights, stuff like that. Dropped it a few times, there's 1 small crack on the screen but that's about it.
Today, the screen just stopped working. Out of nowhere. I don't know why or how since I haven't dropped it /etc. If I could take a picture I would but I'll try to describe it: full black screen, EXCEPT the blue notification light stays on.
Whenever the phone is charging, there's a blue light no matter how long I've been charging it for. When I press the lock button to see if anything happens, that light turns green. When I press it again or wait (16) seconds, there is around a 1-3 second delay (If I press the lock button: otherwise theres no delay) before the light changes color to blue.
When it's not charging, the blue light is still on no matter what. Press the lock button, light goes away: press it again there's 1-3 second delay and the light changes color to blue.
I know for a fact that the phone itself is working because I went to the Android device manager (android/devicemanager on Google's website as I cant post links) and made it ring and I could hear it just fine, and when I hold the lock button for around 15 seconds the phone forcefully reboots. Otherwise I can't interact with it at all: I've tried using ADB but executing "adb devices" shows that my phone is unauthorized.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks
If you reboot the device do you see Google splash screen or boot animation?

Then it won't be software related. Sorry.

Tab s2 8.
Was using practically fully charged tablet one minute, went to use again and screen black.
Back and task switch buttons still light up when press power or home. Plus volume up/down makes the louder/quieter beeps.
Power and volume down gives me the quickest flash of the samsung and android boot logos and then screen black again. Makes the email received notifications you get when restarting the tablet.
Is basically on but just no screen. But screen still functional enough to briefly show boot logos.
Any thoughts?
Update. After about 30 mins of faffing, magically returns to life. Any thoughts on common issues that might have caused? Indicator of something about to go wrong for good?
Put down gently today and the right side of the screen displaying flickering dark/black stripes. Left side of screen perfectly fine. Touch still works over the whole display. Any ideas? Internal cable come loose? Or something more terminal? How easy to check/fix?
