MagiskHide didn't wotk so I used Hide Magisk Manager feature. It works fine but then I encounter several problems after I used that feature. Magisk is v20.0 and Magisk Manager v7.3.5 (the latest).
My phone is Xiaomi Redmi 4X with custom ROM from AospExtended v6.7 (Android Pie 9.0).
- Youtube (or specifically Vanced) doesnt appear at all in the app drawer. I've tried reinstalling & rebooting several times using Magisk Manager but it still doesn't appear. I even installed 2 Vanced modules from Magisk Manager but I still cant find either of those in the app drawer. But then, I tried uninstalling those modules, it tells me to reboot, right? I reboot my phone but none of those are uninstalled. Both of them are still in the Magisk Module with "module will be removed at the next reboot" warning even AFTER rebooting my phone!
I also tried installing Vanced manually with the non-root version but the app wont install. Basically, I cant use Youtube at all!
- This problem with Magisk Module doesnt only happen in Vanced. I think it also happens in other module. My Blobmoji is installed but the emoji I have isn't the blobmoji, it's the built in one instead.
- I dont know if this is related but the wifi won't connect at all. It just keeps "searching" for connetion despite my home has 2 wifi routers.
It might be related, it might be not, but I've used this custom ROM for nearly a year and I havent faced any wifi problem at all. There was no major update from the ROM from the last few weeks either. Coincidentally, this problem happens after this Hide Magisk Manager fiasco, thats why I put this one here.
What happens? What should I do?

Hi, i am new on magisk
yesterday i just upgrade my Honor 5c to EMUI 5.0 with andorid 7.
since android 2 i always use supersu to root my phone but recently all banking apps refuse to run with rooted devices, so i try magisk.
magisk work well and i very love it, but i find out when i active the magisk hide, my fingerprint option is work well as usual, but when i reboot without turning it off, the fingerprint option in my phone is missing and i cant use any fingerprint function as well.
i have try several time and confirmed that this happen when i turn magisk hide and reboot.
Any idea with this situation and and any solution recommended?
Thanks
Magisk log and a logcat from booting up might be useful.
Possible fix (honor 8)
I was able to fix it by updating to the newest version. Turn of hide magisk, reboot, set the fingerprints, turn on hide magisk, reboot.
Seems to be working for me now.
Let me know if it works for you.
Magisk (v14 and earlier as well) closes abruptly when trying to open #superuser section. Using OnePlus 3 T with OS version 14. Can anyone help me? Or is something pending settlement?
I rooted my s8 plus yesterday and it worked fine. Today I tried to install a YouTube Vanced module, and on the magisk it showed me that it was installed. But after I rebooted my phone I saw that nothing has changed.
I also tried downloading other modules and it didnt work at all. Does anybody know how to solve it? Magisk v17.1
About YouTube Vanced: did you uninstall updates for the YouTube app? And make sure to turn off automatic updates for it or it'll just update and mess up Vanced...
What other modules are you talking about and what do you mean when you say that they don't work at all.
Also, logs are usually very informative when asking for assistance.
[Problem]
I noticed google pay not working after enjoying magisk happily for two days.
[Research]
I searched the forum and found many others have issue with google pay, too.
[Trial]
I started to do something with the hope to solve this problem.
1. I changed the update channel to beta test and installed magisk v19. Google pay was not working.
2. I then changed back to stable update channel to install magisk v18. Strange thing happened.
3. Phone booted fine but magisk manager detected no trace of magisk. I re-flashed patched_boot.img. Same thing, magisk was gone.
4. I am on stock ROM (S6 edge) and installed magisk by patching boot.img. I had no TWRP recovery. I could not do much under this circumstance.
5. So, I was in a situation of missing magisk and disabled google pay.
[Final]
I flashed the stock ROM via odin.
1. The google pay was working again in stock ROM (without root).
2. I lost magisk (and root).
I will install magisk again if google pay can work with it. The problem is the security check by google. I still hope there will be some work-around method.
You can never be certain that a dirty downgrade will work. You can of course try, but be prepared for trouble.
If I remember correctly, in this case, simply uninstalling the Manager and reinstalling the apk that comes bundled with v18.1 might have fixed things.
Hi,
As mentioned above, with magisk 19, I have an app called fave. It sometimes detects my phone has root and prevents usage, but sometimes not and I can use it.
I tried to determine when that happens but it seems a bit random. Google pay works though. But a number of other apps also detect root and can't work.
If I downgrade to 18.1, fave works but other apps mentioned above still can't work. Also google pay can't work.
So what's the problem? Does it have to do with the custom rom? I'm using RR 7 (android 9). Will it help if I change to LineageOS instead?
FYI, I tried most of the steps mentioned here:

Thanks.
Same issue here, sometimes, I'm running Magisk on a stock Samsung Marshmallow ROM with a SafetyNet kernel. Maybe you just need to switch Magisk Hide off then on again. For some reason it has a tendency to stop running. And make sure you don't have something like Xposed installed, Magisk can't hide that.
Suddenly after a long time even after not updating because the new update bricked my phone Magisk Manager 5.5.5 (really old version) suddenly decided to give up on me..
Magisk Manager keeps prompting for a update now but I cannot open or install it. Theres even no more crash message.. I have no xposed modules or anything installed, just Magisk Manager and root in order for my own small apps that I wrote(years ago) and to read wpa_supplicant.conf...
I have no known damage to my phone. I am still using my Lenovo Vibe P2 same firmware Android 7 kernel 3.18.31-perf-g247719e.
Any advice?
Hint: Can't update rom firmware, because 1. I have been banned from OTA because I unlocked bootloader. 2. Because I am too lazy.
I can give adb log, but I have not touched Magisk Manager for years and suddenly it ****ed up.. Now I want to run a specific app and it checks for root, I need a magisk module to hide it.
Other applications still work fine even those what can check for root. Except for a few new ones.
