Yes, I've seen some descriptions that say it is, in fact a USB host.
It would be very cool if that is indeed the case. I only wonder what's taking Samsung so long to release a simple dongle?
+1 I want this NOW! Plan to buy a 1.8" 250GB Samsung HDD and fill with movies etc for going on holiday etc.

Mobile media center. Now if only I can charge with the usb host adapter at the same time.
Any idea when this is coming?
Really looking forward to it.
Awesome, just picked up a Galaxy Tab off Craigslist.
Question? Do you think we could use with say a Sprint 3G USB dongle?

No but you could get a myfi or something like this.
http://www.mycricket.com/broadband/datacard/cricket-crosswave
But why not get a plan for it? What carrier is it?
Well it's a Sprint one. But I have a data card already and a Smartphone with a plan as well. Trying to see of I could use a dongle or somehow tether with Bluetooth. I may eventually get a pan with it.
I love it so far, very awesome in deed. Was my first experience with Android also. Beein using a Windows Treo Pro.

Sprint data card?
Well I meant a Sprint USB 3G dongle.
Has anyone tried anyhting like this?
Anyone got any news on this?

Okay, the baove is mentioning the Hardware but i want to ask about the software since i couldn't recognize that there is anything in the setting related to enabling USB to GO
I dont think this will be available for the 7" first gen Galaxy tabs.
I use a Mogo mouse (Bluetooth) with my Tab - works fine. It charges in the expresscard slot in my laptop. I just ordered a USB-to-expresscard adapter...
My goal is to tap that Tab slot and make an adapter to power the expresscard adapter, thus enabling me to charge the Mogo mouse.

If you try to connect a USB-dongel it would need drivers, and I don't think there is any android drivers for those.

Thoughts on getting started on a Door Project
First I want to apologize..I'm fairly new to all of this but I'm just really tired of getting up all the time seeing whose at my apt door knocking and it turns out to be just sales people.
Project
Thinking of hooking up a Raspberry Pi + Camera Module to my Apt Door Peep hole. So It can take pictures or display it on a TFT Color monitor. It will take a picture on motion detection or not.
Things that would be a cool feature
-When motion is detected a picture will be taken (i was reading that motion doesnt work with the camera module yet but hopefully that has changed.)
-Access it online from anywhere(not really important)
-Access raspberry pi camera on my network so when i can see whose at the door so I don't have to get up for advertisers
Just wondering what to order is my starting point so far i got
Raspberry PI Model B
Raspberry Pi Camera Module
Case
tft color monitor
I'm planning to buy all of these from amazon .com
I'm unsure of what sdcard to buy I saw the compatibility list. But what do you guys recommend for the best compatibility and etc? Looking for good class 10 cards.
Im unsure of which power adapter is good for powering it. Thank you. Im hoping to buy everything off amazon.
Thank you

Definitely sounds like an cool project. As far as good class 10 SD Card's this SanDisk Extreme Class 10 32 GB card is a very good card exact same on that I have only I have a 16 GB card, also it's listed on the confirmed working peripherals page. For a power supply this 5V 1.5A from the Pi Hut sold on Amazon is good power supply which can provide enough power for any USB devices you plug into the Raspberry Pi as well. Additionally this video is worth checking out, as it shows a person who's project was to create a motion detecting surveillance type setup using the Raspberry Pi and the Raspberry Pi camera module.
hmm would a 32gb be overkill should I get a 16gb instead? Whats your opinion? Are you running out of room on your 16gb?
Is that power supply adapter the best one? Or is there another one ? Im trying to see if there's one with that qualifies for prime shipping. I guess i can use my asus neuxs 7 charger first until the one from pi hut arrives
Thank you for your advice so far.

If you can spend the extra money the extra storage is worth it. On my own setup I still have plenty of storage on my 16 GB card. I mainly use it for small experimental developmental work, and small projects, but if your going to use it for media of any kind 32 GB is essential. Regarding the power supply the one the Pi Hut sells I mentioned is very good, a lot of the other power supplies I've seen on Amazon are low quality that won't always provide consistent power output.

I personally haven't heard or dealt with any of those sellers. My advice would be read the reviewes for each seller and the feedback people have provided. Then go with the one with the best feedback. And I always enjoy helping people out, helping out is what makes XDA such a great community.

hmm it seems like the pi hut will take 18-20 days for shipping i was wondering if buying the powersupply fro adafruit any good?
5V 1A (1000mA) USB port power supply - UL Listed - its only 1000mA though compared to the 1500 on from pi hut
my own nexus 7 power adapter is 2.0a is that over the limit?
im thinking of buying the hp touch pad charger as well since it has a really high power rating...or maybe just split my orders order half of my items from amazon and the other from adafruit

The power supply from Adafruit is the one I use on my Raspberry Pi and it serves me well, I recommended the Pi Hut one because you mentioned you wanted to buy everything off Amazon if possible. You should be able to use your Nexus 7 power adapter just fine it will provide you with enough power for the Raspberry Pi plus any accessories such as external hard drive or wireless dongle that require power as well.

Steps
1) hooking everything up
2) figuring out waht to do lol....
3) get the basic camera up and running

The Nexus charger is better. It doesn't force the extra current in, it just has the ability to provide that current if needed.
It will be more stable with the 2A.

One course of action you could take to making your project is modifying the tweeting letterbox code to remove the Twitter specific functions and instead modifying the code so you received an alert (E-mail, commuter dialog box prompt, phone text message, etc.) when the camera detected someone at the door.

Just to make sure we're on the same page here by first step I assume you mean the first step from the Raspberry Pi Tweeting Letter Box tutorial, correct? The first step is to wire the camera to the breadboard and then to Raspberry Pi GIPIO pins as described in the tutorial. After that I would recommend running the python script he describes to run. Then once you have the script running you can start editing the code and removing the Twitter specific code so it acts as just a camera viewer like your looking for.
Hi fellas,
My previous S4 was using MHL and it seems that not all MHL cables are compatible with all phones.
However, with the G2, I need to get a slimport-HDMI cable.
For those familiar with slimport, can I just go out there and get any one and be guaranteed that it will work?
There are many that are meant for the Nexus4. I'm betting those would most certainly work.
Those who got it for your device which works well, care to post a link to the product?
Thanks!

Well, I'm assuming Slimport is a better and more controlled standard than MHL so I hope any existing slimport adapters out there will work with our LG.
Like I mentioned, MHL wasn't the same for all...
Is their anything like Samsung's all share cast I'd like a wireless way to connect to tv.
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk 4
Slimport is in fact just a single "thing". Right now, you can only buy a single HDMI adapter or a single VGA adapter.....from Slimport. Even though it's a "standard", no other company makes the things -- at least I haven't found any yet. I bought my slimport adapter back when the Nexus 4 came to market.
Our G2's also support Miracast which I can confirm works with my Netgear PTV3000.

hello guys i need help here. i already double check that my OEM unlock is turned on now on my device, but there still RMM State : Prenormal on my bootloader download mode
is it safe to flash TWRP & rooting the phone now even im already turned on the OEM unlocking but there still RMM State Pre normal on bootloader? ill just waiting until i got reply
the reason i need to root my phone is, i need netflix to work with HDMI Out to my TV using Type-C to HDMI Cable, but when i plug my HDMI from my Phone to TV, netflix got error 5.2 when play the movie, and i read somehow on youtube just only need to rename liboemcrypto, is that right?
If that is the only reason for rooting, I think that a chomecast or something similar(of course assuming that the tv is not a smart tv) would be a better option, no cable needed, they are very cheap
I concur with winol.. Just output to tv is not a good reason to risk rooting your phone.

Overlooked this when buying the tablet, supprised there was no adaptor included. Are they assuming all the buyers are S10 users?
Anyway, will any adaptor work or does it have to be one from Samsung?

The adaptor has to have a dac built in or it will not work with the tablet same with the note 10
The Note 10 dongle has a DAC built in. It should work for the tab s6. I have one ordered right now.
I have USB C audio adapter from Huawei Mate 20 Pro, but when i connect it to the tablet, a message appears that the usb device is not supported.
I have S5e, but it should apply S6
I have few different USB C headset adapter for Pixel and HTC U11 Life, both work as it's supposed to
As much as I hate to say it, the cheap Apple one is one of the best you can get unless you're willing to spend quite a bit more. Did a bunch of reading after I ordered my Note 10+, tests put the Apple one ahead of the Google ones and plenty of others that cost 5 times as much as the Apple one. Works well, but as with all things Apple the cable is going to fray within a year. I added a silicone stress relief that covered the entire cable since I had a bag of them, maybe it'll last two years.
have 2 of those
none are working with korean LTE S6
any idea why?
thanks
Bought this one works perfectly.

I got this. It is a bit expensive but allows for charging and is a nice form factor.

Oddly enough, the Middle eastern versions (and most probably Europeans) got a type C headphones in the box, i myself bought from Bahrain and we got a type C headphones, albeit the cheap kind but hey it works
USB C connector has analog headphone connection
They are switched in with some sense ID magic, but there is left, right, and microphone analog wires. You can find the details in a search.
Any cheap (non-DAC) headphone adapter should work as it is just the right wiring and maybe a few resistors on the right pins. I have one that works.
I purchased 2 and both make hissing soumd, One was noname, the other Baesus make both ****.
