Hi everybody,
currently the Lenovo K3 Note runs with Android 5.0 K50a40_S121_150813_ROW (Kao-Alpha2).
OTA provides K50a40_S121_150813_ROW_TO_K50a40_S322_160314_ROW but when downloading the update and confirming the installation phone ends up in TWRP without any further action. I can try to search the downloaded file and install it from TWRP but I did not find it.
When trying to update this file from TWRP by renaming it to update.zip and moving it to the phone update fails with message: unmount of /data failed (-1): Invalid argument script aborted: This package is for "Lenovo K50a40" devices; this is a "Lenovo K3 Note" Error executing updater binary in zip ... Error installing zip file
Does anybody know why this is failing?
Additionally I found within web K50a40_S205_151118_ROW_TO_K50a40_S422_160315_ROW.
Now I am puzzled which ROM version is the correct one? Does anybody by chance know? Could not yet find any information regarding this topic within WWW.
Also I am struggling to get into TWRP by myself. When phone is off and I press volume up and power key I only end up in chinese ROM where I cannot read anything. Can I install OTA version from there? And how can I get into TWRP if wanted?
There are no enhanced reboot menu options and key combination mentioned only brings chinese recovery version up.
Any help appreciated.

The OTA package can be installed by stock recovery only.
To update the rom using twrp you have to download the full rom.

Use flashify from play store to get into twrp it has option to reboot into recovery

But TWRP recovery does not work for installing the OTA update! Is there any way to get into stock recovery which is english (I could enter into some stock mode after switching on - but its chinese only)?
If your rooted and have twrp then follow this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/k3-note/development/official-build-lenovo-k3-note-k50a40-6-t3370537.
If not rooted use KingRoot on PC it worked for me

Thank you (and sorry for that very late reply). I finally managed to install ROM from above mentioned link (was no prio task for quite a long time).
Unfortunately SMS is gone (not existing within that ROM) and not OTA update is shown.
In addition I also cannot install the downloaded OTA version - the same error still occurs: "This package is for "Lenovo K50a40" devices; this is a "Lenovo K3 Note" Error executing updater binary in zip" => so installing the Stock variant from mentioned thread did not help unfortunately!
Is the version from above link already the lastest one? Any ideas, hints, etc.?

At first i want to update my Xiaomi Redmi 4A to latest version which is v9.6.3.0.NCCMIFD . After i download the update from the official website , then i press the "reboot to recovery" button and TWRP Recovery showed up , after i select the package and going to install it says " The Zip verification is failed " . Then , i managed to update my TWRP from 3.0.2.0 to 3.2.2.0 ( latest update ) because my thinking was " oh i think the TWRP need to update " then i go to official TWRP website and choose the right one for my devices which is Rolex , and flashed it using my laptop with ADB and enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlock After i flashed it showing me a " different coloured stripes " which is looks like an error for me . After that, i reboot the device to system it's still worked . But i can't enter recovery mode .. what can i do ?

Hi. I bought a used note 8 n950f exonos on orea and updated it to pie with the latest september update. I want to install twrp recovery, root it and use custom roms but latest bootloader won't let me install it. When I try to install twrp using odin, I get the error "only official binaries are allowed to be flashed". When I try to flash an older stock firmware using odin, I get error "sw rev check fail bootloader device 7 binary 3". I have OEM unlock enable and USB Debugging enabled as well. Is there any way to install twrp recovery? Desperately waiting for your help

I am on MIUI 10.3.5 (PFKINXM - Android version 9 PKQ1.181121.001) and it is showing no updates. When I click on "download latest package", it says "Can't download, wait 1 - 2 mins and retry". I downloaded 10.4.8 package manually and choose update package. This gives me a message saying "this rom is in beta testing, are you sure you have a beta account linked". Bought 2 days back from flipkart.
How do I update it to android 10?
I have faced the same issue but now I have updated to 4.8 after unlocking
u have 2 options wait for miui 11 or to unlock your bootloader and flash the latest update which will erase all your data
even if you choose to unlock booloader and updating from custom recovery you will face an issue which says
'this is for raphelin., your device is raphel' error 7 in TWRP
to solve it you need to edit the update_script file
do note that this process is quite tricky and you can brick your device or else your device may stuck in bootloops

Thank you very much for your reply. So I am not alone with this kind of issue.
Will wait for my 168 hours to complete before I can unlock the bootloader. Then will update it , keeping in mind your advice.

But do you know if MIUI 11 brings android 10 update as well?
hello fellas , i have s10 ,problem : always booting up to recovery mode ( couldn`t find solution for it )
,,,, oem is locked and there is no way i can flash twrp or custom rom off course ( btw i am noob)
i tried flashing combination rom using odin ( just to enable usb debugging ) but many msesages of (please get the approval ) for pit ,bootloader, system ...etc
googled the issue , found someone saying it is sort of protection that requires unique key should be requested from samsung
So , how can in bypass it to make successful combination rom flashing ?
any extra files needed plus to the combination rom and pit file ?

note : repeat: my phone is oem locked , at flashing stock rom is success but reboots directly to recovery mode ...this is my major problem ,

Hello Rossen, since you have no experience in this area, I know a lot of things that I took the simplest for my S10 exons SM-G973 F. Installation. John WU the official firmware with magisk modify AP official firmware that you transfer to your S10, then once do you transfer magisk patches with Adb to your PC with Adb pull.
Then with Odin you flash the following 4 files BL-AP magisk patched-Cp-Home CSC you let start, you open magisk active Zygisk restarted if rooted...
I forgot TRWP even if I managed once to install it with magisk then bugs and loss of rooting following updating magisk, normally to install TRWP you must already be rooted with magisk then install TRWP either by modify TRWP image with magisk or by the managed TRWP application you directly flash the TRWP image of the application.

thanks for reply , sadly the device can take only the stock rom , any custom will be rejected due to oem lock , and if i flashed stock one it will boot up to recovery not the system ,
So you haven't done the unlocking of oem well you can't do anything, the best thing to do is redo these cleanly you reflash the official rom then you unlock your S10 you press power plus bixby and you connect to the pc, then you press and hold volume up and unlocking is done.
Then you will restart as at the first start you install magisk, activate developer mode about the phone press on low version 7 times then in developer you activate USB debugging.
And you do as I explained.

already said when i flash stock rom device turns up to recovery mode not to the system . the only thing i see is flashing combinations which is now impossible without token , is there a trick or workaround to bypass getting in the recovery mode after flashing stock ?

like i said before , successful flashing stock rom , after that the mobile goes to recovery mode not to the system
Hello Rose, I had the concern like you these for its that it is necessary to start from zero. I also did like you too when I start with power back TRWP direct, I had to reinstall official rom Android 12, use which TRWP for your S10 exynos the one the twrp-3.6.2_9-2-beyond1lte.img yes or no you know that you have to patch its image with magisk 25.2 then rename it in recovery and replace the one in AP with the recovery modify then flash with odin.
In your quote start with TRWP then you take the boot.img of the AP flashed it then try to restart in recovery.

i dont have active android in my device and it can NOT boot up to system if i flashed stock
before stupidly activate oem lock i had zero problems , locked oem and flashed stock and then i got recovery interface , can not log in system
i have LG 4k tv which i messed its software , but managed to reset it all by shorting pins >>> can it be done the same way with my s10 ? if yes , anyone can show me where circuit shorting pins are ?
not at all the only thing to do if you manage to boot trwp recovery in boot do boot download and flash the official rom with csc and not home

googled to download sboot to fix the whole thing , no luck , can anyone attach it here please ? bit15 (uf protection)
Hello Roseen, so how does your S10 react starting on TRWP or getting stuck on the Samsung logo. I don't see that you tried to do things without having looked at the tutorials on XDA. well a 4G exynos G973F you have the Android 12 UI 4.1 rom.
Does your pc recognize the S10 when it starts up, did you get the message in red safety e and the yellow triangle plus the message, at worst try with another smartphone to film the start-up.
What does your last post mean with bit15.
