Recently I've tried using the Xiaomi Fastboot tools program on my computer and it wouldn't list my device. I checked my Device Manager in Windows and it says that the Drivers for this device aren't installed. (Code 28). I was able to do connect my phone before with no problem but now I'm having issues. I've tried uninstalling the Drivers for the device and reinstalling them but it doesn't work. Anyone have a solution?

Hi, looking for some help with a soft-bricked SGS i9000.
It is bricked to the point that it only shows the 'Phone--!--Computer' when switched on, or when attempting to access Recovery Mode.
I can access Download mode absolutely fine, but Windows refuses to recognise the device when it is plugged in, therefore it doesn't show up in Odin, therefore I can't flash a new ROM.
Is there anything I can try to get Windows/Odin recognising it?
(Someone on another thread suggested just unplugging and replugging the phone until Windows recognises it - should I give this a try?)
Thanks.
I assume you have tried reinstalling the drivers?
Yeah, I've removed the device from device manager, reinstalled the drivers and re-plugged it.
Then I've tried updating the drivers via Device Manager - the message I get is that the best drivers are already installed.

Uninstall whatever drivers you have installed at the moment and read this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...an always uninstall and install Samsung Kies.
try a different usb port, sometimes you can actually fool windows with that, i have had the same a couple of times, rebooting your pc or using a other pc sometimes works...
can you enter to download mode? It should be recognised by odin. If not you need an usb jig.
I had the same thing, so i looked around and someonle suggested installinog nexus S drivers and Odin recognizes your phone!!
It really works.

I have this problem in connecting my Lenovo A7000 with my laptop, whenever I connect the device to the laptop I get this error - "USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned".
I read some other threads regarding the same error,
So far I have done these things to debug this -
1. Uninstalled USB drivers from my laptop
2. Checked for any available update for the device drivers in device manager.
3. Tried installing drivers manually using Lenovo tool.
4. Wiped data from the device to give a fresh start
5. Changed the USB cable.
6. Even tried this on other PC.
But still I haven't come across any solution yet, I want to flash some zip's in my device using the recovery, but can't install TWRP, because I can't connect with PC, so I am stuck with stock recovery
P.S - My device is rooted.
Try installing proper vcom drivers.btw a specific edition of win10 didnt detects the device.i have faced the same.
Just got a used A2. Booted it up and no bootloader unlocked message. Tried to unlock bootloader but unable to get it recognized on my windows 10 PC. I have tried all ways to install the drivers, used different USBC cables, different USB port on the PC but no luck.
Developer options have been triggered & USB debugging is allowed.
Please let me know what drivers worked for you guys?
Mi drivers? Google drivers?
Thanks

Hi,
Last month, I installed PixelExperience Extended on my Mi 9T Pro, as the official ROM doesn't release updates anymore.
I was very happy with the new ROM.
Then 2 days ago I got a popup saying that there was an update of the ROM.
I proceeded with the OTA update, my phone rebooted and immediatly got stuck in 'Fastboot' logo.
No matter what key combination I try, it just reboots back at fastboot.
When I connect via USB, it says the device malfunctioned and I cannot execute adb commands. (Tried several PC's/USB ports)
In Windows Device Manager, it says 'Unknown USB Device', Device descripter request failed.
Does anybody have some advice?
I also tried to install specific Mi 9T Pro drivers to solve the 'unknown USb device", but that didn't work.
turned out to be the cable
