Hello all,
I recently puchased a mi5 standaard and it is full of bloat- and adware, so i wanted to reflash the MIUI ROM from their website.
I tried the Chinese devolpment ROM and the global stable but they both don't work. I copy them to interna storage, open update app, choose update package and then i select the zip file.
I get the error popping up "Can't verify update", and yes i'm connected to WLAN.
Thanks!
SOLUTION: flashed it via MiFlash using the guide on the Xiaomi subreddit.
Hello, help would be amazing as this is my 2nd day trying to root my xPeria XZ Premium!
I've finally flashed twrp , I'm trying to install this rom:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xz-premium/development/kernel-sony-xz-premium-5-2018-t3784669
But I'm getting stuck when trying to install magisk, OR move any zip files from my SD card to my Internal Storage.
Could anyone guide me through how to resolve this? :crying:
Have unlocked boot loader?
Need to format data first

Hey my dude follow these steps, in twrp select wipe->format data (You'll lose all your files) now try flash the rom, you should find a custom kernel for your device as well and install it after the rom. If the Kernel doesnt install magisk now would be a good time to do it :highfive:

This isn't necessary. Just extract boot.img from whatever rom.zip you're using, flash that in recovery, reboot to recovery again and magisk should install.

3.2.2 worked for me.
In my case unmounting all the partitions fixed it for me, the boot.img method didn't work.

I was having the same issue... After hours of research I finely managed to fix it. Try the following:
1 - Install TWRP (I also had the 3.5.0_9 version).
2 - Format data and wipe all the advanced options possible.
3 - Download the program "payload_dumper-win64".
3.1 - Following the payload dumper instructions, I've copied the payload.bin from my custom ROM to the payload_input folder.
3.2 - Execute payload_dumper.exe and wait, a lot!
3.3 - Copy the resulted files (boot.img, system.img, vendor.img) in to the phone.
4 - In TWRP, go to install, select from images, and, one by one, install the images you've just copied.
4.1 - Note that during the install process, you will have to select the correct "slots" to flash the images. In my case, there where to options for system and vendor. I've chosen the "System Image" and "Vendor Image" option.
5 - Restart.
That's it! I didn't had to change slots nor wipe data after the installation... I don't know if this was the correct approach, but after many tries this is what worked for me
Sorry about my bad english...
Sometimes it is caused due to corrupted file. While transferring file through MTP it is likely to corrupt large files. I had the same problem. Then I tried copying file while in TWRP (sure it is also MTP) and it worked.

It's legit procedure. Also you don't need to manage slots here, caz recovery automatically does that for you.
Hello guys, i'm from Russia, sorry for my bad English. I using Poco X3 Pro, and i have some troubles. I wanted to install custom firmware. First ROM
delivered successfully, unlike the second. After clearing all sections except sd cart and otg, I tried to install the original MIUI build, but it didn't work. I downloaded the original MIUI, but still. When installing, it says: "Update process ended with ERROR: 1" The methods from the top didn't help, please help!

Follow it and flash firmwares (if needed).
Hi, I have a Redmi Note 9 shipped with MIUI version MIUI Global 12.0.3 Stable (QJOEUXM) I already unlocked bootloader because I want to root it and already backed important partitions with SP_Flash_Tool. Phone wan´t to update to 12.0.9.0 version but I want to update manually to 12.0.4.
Following this guide https://www.xda-developers.com/how-...i-android-update-xiaomi-mi-redmi-smartphones/ I already created the downloaded_rom folder and placed the miui-blockota-merlin_eea_global-V12.0.3.0.QJOEUXM-V12.0.4.0.QJOEUXM-7f62044532-10.0.zip file but when I choose "Choose update package" and select the zip it asks to "connect to a Wi-Fi network to download this update", I do, then select again the zip file and I get the error Can´t verify update Sorry, flash to this stable version is not allowed. Same issue with miui_MERLINEEAGlobal_V12.0.4.0.QJOEUXM_71e6083767_10.0.zip.
If I use the latest update miui_MERLINEEAGlobal_V12.0.9.0.QJOEUXM_5a7954d9cf_10.0.zip then allowed to update.
Then I try recovery method, rename the zip file to update.zip and placed to the base directory of the phone’s internal storage. I Rebooted the phone into recovery mode but there is no any option to install update zip, only Reboot - Wipe data and Connect with MiAssistant.
I should to do a factory reset to "unblock" this update hang 12.0.9.0 blocking me to update to 12.0.4.0 or there is some clear updater cache and data option (I can´t find it) ?
Why I can´t update manually, is because MIUI updater is detecting and waiting to updating latest update 12.0.9.0 and then is blocking older update to installing manually?
Why there is no option in recovery menu to install update.zip file?
How I can update to 12.0.4.0 from MIUI updater and zip file?
I should to use MiFlash and flash merlin_eea_global_images_V12.0.4.0.QJOEUXM_20201121.0000.00_10.0_eea_66369cf4be.tgz as last alternative ?.
Another doubt I have is if I update to 12.0.9.0 can I root flashing patched Magisk boot.img (12.0.9.0) from fastboot ? everything about rooting is allowed with 12.0.5.0 or Higher? I ask this because I do not understand correctly when I read "if you are on 12.0.5.0 or higher you need to use SP_Flash_Tool in EDL mode bypassing authentication for flashing" is only about flashing custom Rom?.
I only want to use Official Xiaomi ROM and rooting to restore app data from my previous rooted smartphone using Titanium Backup. Also I can´t to use Netflix because with unlocked bootloader Netflix do not want to update and I can´t use it and I don´t know if Magisk can fix this.
Sorry for my poor english skills and thanks for reading and for all the help you all can provide.
